"Morning." Wu Sheng was standing at the door, just as he had countless times before when he came to pick them up.
"How long have you been here? Why didn't you knock again?" Su Li's heart softened as she pulled the door open to let him in.
Wu Sheng was always like this when he came in the mornings. Every time Su Li finished getting ready and opened the door, he would be outside. At first, she didn't notice, but once she did, she told him to knock.
He always agreed readily but still never knocked, quietly waiting outside every time.
Su Li had asked him why he didn't knock, and Wu Sheng had answered nonchalantly, "Why would I knock? You'll come out when you're ready."
Wu Sheng knew Su Li's personality. If they agreed on a time, she would be ready by then. Why would he need to knock and rush her?
Time and again, Su Li started getting up ten minutes earlier to open the door, but she would still see Wu Sheng waiting.
