Enraged that its spewing attack had been interrupted, the Giant Earth Rock Worm abandoned its ranged assault for the moment. It violently twisted its massive body, snapping its tooth-filled maw at the "insect" that dared to harass it!
At the same time, its thick tail swept out, cutting off Murphy's path of retreat.
Murphy's expression remained serene. His footwork shifted nimbly as he floated backward like a willow catkin in the wind, narrowly avoiding the worm's devouring bite.
He didn't meet the sweeping tail head-on. Instead, he tapped the ground with his Longsword and used the momentum to launch himself high into the air. Flipping over, he unleashed a reverse-grip slash. A concentrated blade of thunderous energy slammed into the shell on the worm's tail, erupting in a shower of electric sparks. It left behind a scorched gash, but failed to inflict any substantial damage.
