Sophie Wexler froze, her eyes locking onto the figure in the distance, brimming with caution.
She had been extremely careful when leaving Salencia. Anticipating that he wouldn't give up easily, she had even lingered a while longer and switched to a new mask.
'There's no way he should have been able to recognize me.'
Sophie Wexler suppressed her unease. Looking at the man before her, she feigned confusion and asked, "Who are you? Do I know you?"
The man let out a low chuckle. "Stop pretending. It's just one of Salencia's requisite masks."
His words instantly saw through Sophie Wexler's disguise.
