The thought had just surfaced when the door opened, revealing the figure of the person outside.
A man stood before the door, the night swallowing most of his face in shadow. He looked up as the door opened.
"Cillian Forrest?" After a moment, Sophie Wexler was the first to speak. "What are you doing here?"
As she spoke, she naturally stepped aside, gesturing for him to come in.
The two of them had lived under the same roof for so long that the gesture was completely subconscious.
The man stepped inside. "I came to see you."
Under the light inside, Sophie Wexler finally saw the deep exhaustion under Cillian Forrest's eyes, which were bloodshot.
Remembering what Leo Fane had said, it seemed he had been incredibly busy since returning to the Capital Planet.
"Have you been busy lately?" Sophie Wexler asked.
"It's manageable," Cillian Forrest replied. "Not that busy."
