After she finished speaking, Sophie Wexler put away her Light Brain and looked at Cillian Forrest again, studying him carefully for a moment. "Are you sure you're okay?"
He'd just denied it, but he didn't look well at all. His brows had been knitted tightly ever since he walked in.
"I'm fine," Cillian Forrest confirmed again.
Sophie Wexler couldn't press the issue. "If you start to feel unwell, just tell me. I should be able to help ease the discomfort."
When Cillian Forrest didn't answer, she noticed the muscles in his face were taut.
"Should I leave, then?" Sophie Wexler asked tentatively.
Cillian Forrest grunted.
Sophie Wexler lifted her gaze to study him for a moment longer, finally sighing inwardly with resignation.
She stopped, just as she was about to leave. Pivoting, she caught him off guard and grabbed Cillian Forrest's hand.
"What do you mean, 'mhm'?! Don't you know enough to say something when you're unwell?"
