"Are you hungry?" As Renee Jennings asked this, she had already taken out her phone to search for what sliders eat.
Slider began its woeful complaint. "My people, who understands my pain? This little turtle hasn't eaten in three days!"
Renee Jennings was amused by its tone, her eyes curving into crescents as she smiled.
When Slider heard her still laughing, it was instantly displeased. "Folks, this two-legged beast heard that this little turtle hasn't eaten in three days, and it's actually laughing at me!"
"Where did you get the idea that I was laughing at you?" Renee Jennings composed herself and said seriously, "And I just told you, don't call me a two-legged beast."
Slider: "Then what's your name?"
"Renee Jennings."
"Alright."
"What do you want to eat?"
Slider: "Two-legged beast, are you treating me?"
Renee Jennings: "..."
'Never mind. I'm not treating you.'
'I haven't heard a single pleasant thing from you.'
