'Bruno?'
'Good. Perfect.'
'He didn't need a fighter. What he needed was a professional "resource detection and collection expert." It seems no one who makes it to Advanced Apprentice is simple; they all have a unique skill up their sleeve.'
"You. You're in charge of navigation and collection."
Allen returned the pebble to Bruno, his decision final.
"Welcome to the team."
Bruno froze. He looked at Allen, then at Baston beside him, unable to process the sudden turn of events.
Baston, however, let out a huge sigh of relief, a genuine smile spreading across his honest face.
He clapped Bruno hard on the shoulder, nearly driving his slender teammate into the ground.
"I... I really can?" Bruno's voice trembled.
He'd lost count of how many teams had rejected him, and he didn't have the ability to complete missions on his own.
The feeling of being seen as a burden, a disgrace to the Wizard Academy, was nearly enough to crush him.
