Mia Grant's expression faltered for a moment, her look perfectly crafted. "It was an accident."
She looked utterly innocent, her gaze constantly flitting to Kian Keller's leg. "Does it still hurt now?"
She was clearly trying to change the subject. Kian Keller's eyes were deep and unreadable; he couldn't shake the feeling that she had hidden many things from him during the time he was away.
He had just met with Yates Donovan, but the man was too slick, and he hadn't managed to get any information out of him in the end.
It was a blessing that Mia Grant hadn't been injured.
Kian Keller fell silent for a moment, then dropped the subject.
He answered, "Sometimes."
In truth, his leg hadn't fully recovered. It was nearly impossible for it to return to its previous condition.
Some of the damage was irreversible.
But as long as he avoided high-intensity exercise, standing and walking were no problem.
Of course it hurt, especially when the weather was bad.
