She looked at Felix Sinclair with a very complicated expression. On closer inspection, her lips were trembling slightly.
Felix, in contrast, remained expressionless. He only lowered his gaze slightly when she looked over.
It was unclear if he was avoiding her gaze or looking for where she had dropped the box of medicine.
It seemed to be the latter.
Because Mia saw him bend down and reach toward her.
In her daze, his short hair brushed lightly against the back of her hand, which was frozen in mid-air.
Reaching out, he deftly picked up the box of medicine from beside her feet.
It was so quiet inside the car that the rattling of the pills inside the box was clearly audible.
Mia could even hear the sound of the packaging creaking as he gripped the box tightly.
His grip tightened, and it felt as if it wasn't the box being squeezed, but her heart.
