The reason the Demon Sect was so disliked and unwelcome was that practicing their Demon Skills had very high demands on one's temperament. The slightest misstep could lead one astray, turning them into an Evil Cultivator.
A person's temperament, or in other words, their mental Cultivation, is very difficult to improve.
Unlike other normal Cultivation Techniques, Demon Skills did indeed make it very easy to advance one's Cultivation.
This caused the vast majority of Demon Sect disciples' minds to be unable to keep up with their Cultivation, leading to a common affliction: Demon Shadow Evil.
