This was a forest with few signs of human activity. Bright sunlight filtered through the leaves, dappling the path below.

Jiang Zuo walked to the edge of the pond. He looked at the water and murmured to himself, "This is it. It seems the book was correct."
Peering through the water's surface, Jiang Zuo could see it. This was the entrance at the heart of the grand scheme.
Stepping through it would lead to the outskirts of the Abyss.
Jiang Zuo had planned to step inside and investigate, but before he could even take a step, his phone rang.
He took it out and saw it was Su Qi.
Jiang Zuo glanced at the pond, sighed, and turned to leave, answering the phone as he went. "I'm on my way over now."
