"Let's start the test." Zane Shelby beckoned a researcher over with a wave of his hand and pointed at Faye Vaughn. "Take her to get fitted with the equipment."
Faye Vaughn asked with a smile, "Do I need to sign some kind of life-and-death waiver? Once I'm in the testing rig, will I make it out alive?"
Seeing her mischievous and cunning expression, Zane Shelby was struck again by the memory he had only just managed to push away.
It was exactly the kind of joke Chloe Chase would make.
Chloe Chase had a certain nonchalance about her, a fearlessness in the face of life and death.
Faye Vaughn had it too.
"Don't worry. Even if you wanted to die, I wouldn't allow it." Zane Shelby arched an eyebrow. "I'm counting on you for much bigger things."
"I hope I can help you, too."
'That would be the same as helping myself.'
Faye Vaughn followed the researcher deeper inside, changed into a special white experimental suit, and sat on a metal chair inside a giant, spherical cage.
