Upstairs, in the study.
Vincent Hawthorne was just about to close the study door when an arm blocked it.
"Second Brother, I want to listen in too!"
Finn Hawthorne barged his way in.
Vincent Hawthorne frowned and looked toward his grandfather.
Old Master Hawthorne snorted. "Let the foolish boy listen."
The old master sat down behind the desk and leisurely lit a cigar.
Vincent Hawthorne sat in the chair across from the desk, adjusted his silver-rimmed glasses, and said in a deep voice, "Grandpa, don't keep me in suspense. Just tell me."
Old Master Hawthorne took a puff of his cigar before speaking slowly. "First, let me ask you: do you like the eldest miss of the Windsor family, or do you like that Audrey Kensington?"
Vincent Hawthorne was silent for a moment before answering, "I've already promised to be with Vivian."
Old Master Hawthorne shot him a look, scoffing at his foolishness. "You can't even see your own heart. You deserve to be deceived."
