"Let's see the goods." The burly man didn't waste any words, holding out his hand.
"It's more than worth the price," Liam Linden said, handing over the case he was carrying.
The man in the lead waved his hand. The burly man beside him stepped forward, took the case, and slit the seal with a small knife.
Faye Vaughn wanted to sneak a peek inside, but the moment she moved, it was as if Liam Linden had eyes in the back of his head. He reached back and held her still, not allowing her to move.
Faye Vaughn had no choice but to listen to their conversation.
"The goods are decent, but the price for what you want has gone up." The leader made an outrageous demand. "Double the price. Your goods cover half, so you still need to pay three hundred thousand."
Liam Linden tensed.
Faye Vaughn saw him clench his fists.
No wonder he was angry. These people were jacking up the price on the spot. It was no different from extortion.
