Faye Vaughn ignored Liam Linden.
She had said all that needed to be said.
Now, all she could do was take things one step at a time.
Faye Vaughn rolled over, her back to Liam Linden, and her breathing gradually slowed as she drifted off to sleep.
Liam Linden watched her. The darkness was his best cover, hiding the roiling emotions in his eyes.
「The night passed without a word.」
Faye Vaughn was awakened by the scent of food.
"The smell of pork buns..." she mumbled, snuggled in her blankets. She wrinkled her nose, took a sniff, and added, "Smells so good..."
"Get up. Time for breakfast," Liam Linden said coolly.
Faye Vaughn peeked at him from under the blanket, which covered half her face, leaving only her eyes visible.
'He must have been up for a while,' she thought. He carried a faint chill from the outside air.
On the table sat the breakfast he'd brought back: stuffed buns, mantou, and soy milk.
