Faye Vaughn hummed softly in agreement.
Finn Hawthorne waited for the car to start, but the driver made no move to turn on the engine.
He asked suspiciously, "Why aren't we going?"
The driver replied respectfully from the front seat, "Third Young Master, the car won't start until you get out."
"Why not?"
The moment Finn Hawthorne asked, he realized why.
'Holy shit!'
'What the hell is my eldest brother's problem!'
'I'm just taking Faye Vaughn to school, not out on a date!'
'He has to guard against me for this too?'
'Does he even have the guts to compete with me fairly anymore!'
"Faye Vaughn, let's not take this piece of junk. You can ride in my car," Finn Hawthorne fumed.
Before Faye Vaughn could respond, the driver spoke again in that same respectful tone, "Third Young Master, your car is being ticketed."
Finn Hawthorne whipped his head around to look out the window. Sure enough, a traffic cop was putting a ticket on his secondhand car.
