Noah Grant sighed. "Thank goodness he left us this Protective Talisman before he departed. Otherwise, we really might have been swallowed by a fish today."
As he spoke, he wrapped his arms around his wife, his face filled with sorrow. "Honey, I miss our daughter. When do you think we'll be able to leave this place? I don't know how she's doing right now. Do you think she'll even remember us by the time we get back?"
Noah and his wife had met their future son-in-law.
Although they knew that in the future, their daughter would be married and living a good life, that future felt entirely too distant for them. To them, their daughter was still small, having only recently been born. They hadn't even gotten the chance to hold her properly or watch her grow up before their family was forcibly torn apart, unable to see each other.
The mere thought of their daughter being mocked as an orphan in the future caused an unbearable ache in Noah and Elara's hearts.
