The Undercity, home to the Shadowmist Clan, was lively late into the night. It wasn't until just before dawn that the clan chief, Pip, appeared on the suspended drawbridge.
"Clansmen, quiet down."
"I have an announcement to make tonight."
As soon as it spoke, the area fell silent. Countless wintergourds immediately turned to look at it.
Their gazes were intense, burning with curiosity about what their clan chief had to say. Some couldn't wait and began to ask.
"Clan Chief, what is it?"
"Hurry and tell us! We can't wait!"
"Yes, what is it, Clan Chief?"
Pip raised its hand, signaling for its clansmen to be quiet. Their "fingers" were actually two-pronged claws, but they served as hands nonetheless.
Pip then spoke. "Everyone, listen to me. Here's the situation. Our master is about to leave the Cunmere Realm to live in another world. He may never return."
