The Abyssal Primalids were dead, and the foul smell was gone. Aaron Sinclair chuckled and said, "What great weather. It's another beautiful day."
Celeste Grant nodded. "Yes, it is. Another beautiful day."
Nerida spoke up. "With those dead bugs gone, even the air feels fresher. This is so much better."
"Mhm," Aaron Sinclair added. "A sunny day like this is perfect for an outdoor barbecue."
'An outdoor barbecue?'
The moment he finished speaking, Celeste Grant and Nerida glanced at each other. Their minds involuntarily flashed back to the bugs from before—swarms of bizarre-looking insects covered in slime and venom. The mere thought of it made them instantly nauseous.
It was a gut reaction, like seeing maggots in your food right as you were about to eat.
"BLEGH... Barbecue..."
"Son, why did you have to bring up my favorite food? I don't think I'll be able to look at barbecue for a while."
Beside her, Nerida nodded repeatedly. "Same here."
