Seeing Elder Sawyer's shocked expression, Nerida chuckled. She reached out, grabbed Aeron's hand, and held it up for him to see.
"Don't we look like it?"
Aeron leaned slightly, resting his head against Nerida's shoulder. "How about now?"
Elder Sawyer truly hadn't considered this possibility before. Now, seeing how close the two of them were, it all felt a bit surreal. 'Their Left Protector had pulled off something huge, and all on the sly.'
Nerida introduced Aeron to them.
"Elder Sawyer, Hannah, this is Aeron. He is my Taoist Companion."
Aeron greeted the two of them.
"Greetings, Elder Sawyer, Hannah."
Elder Sawyer nodded slightly.
"So you're one of us." He glanced at the couple and said, "Congratulations, Nerida. I failed to see it earlier." As he spoke, he cupped his hands together. "I, Zachary Sawyer, offer my congratulations to you both."
