Aeron's grip on his sword tightened.
He had killed King Reynard.
And utterly destroyed her Divine Soul.
But Aeron didn't regret it, even though she was his royal aunt—his own mother's younger sister. Those who do wrong must bear the consequences. The moment she had tried to kill him, she had sealed her fate. He would show her no mercy.
His gaze shifted to Nerida.
"She was my royal aunt," Aeron murmured. As Nerida's eyes turned to him, he added, "I killed her."
Hearing this, Nerida glanced at him. She hummed in acknowledgment and said in a low voice, "She tried to kill you. It's perfectly reasonable that you killed her."
'Between you dying and someone else dying, it's always better for the other person to die. Nothing wrong with that. Doesn't matter who they are. If someone wants you dead, they're an enemy.'
Aeron looked up at her, then lowered his head slightly and murmured, "You don't think I'm too heartless? She was my royal aunt."
