The East City Gate was breached, and the South City Gate had fallen as well. Just as those forces converged into a torrent, on the verge of breaking through the West City Gate to join the Left Prince's army outside, an oppressive red light surged over.
The red light came from the north, burning furiously and illuminating the night sky as brightly as day.
At this moment, everyone fell silent. They watched the distant flames grow larger and more intense. In just a few breaths, it seemed as if the very sky had caught fire.
Among the Wei Dynasty soldiers, someone shouted in excitement, "The Western Regions have suffered heavenly retribution! The Heavenly God has sent down lightning and fire, burning the Western Regions Royal Court to the ground!"
The commoners cheered joyfully. "Evil meets its just desserts! Their lair has been burned to ashes, and their families are all dead! It serves them right!"
