Naturally, there wasn't a dedicated camera crew as if it were a sports game, but someone did end up serving as the medium through which people could watch the two sorcerers from different worlds fight.
An old man, shrouded in black, with white hair peeking out from under his cloak, wore a money-hungry smile and raised two fingers. "20,000 yen a person..."
With his words, crows flew around him, as if he were an angel of death. His presence was overwhelming...not in the sense of he's strong, but being creepy as fuck.
Naoto whispered to his mother. "Should we call the cops?"
Mayumi gave a disgusted look as she pulled Naoto closer to her. "Just give me the damn tickets, Ui Ui."
The man Ui Ui took no offense as he grabbed the money from Mayumi's hands greedily as he ushered Naoto and Mayumi into the broadcast room. She had been familiar with Ui Ui and his sister Mei Mei since they were a tag team, a grade 1-level threat in the golden era of sorcery.
As long as they had their money, they had no ulterior motives, unless it had to do with Ui Ui's sister, who had already passed. Mayumi wouldn't be shocked if he had her body hidden in his basement.
Not even a second later, he was talking to the person next in line, but something was different.
"Ho? How interesting...just so you know, it's still 20,000 yen a person." Ui Ui genuinely seemed shocked at the next person in line.
The two were about to enter the large tent, where the screens were placed, but were stopped when they heard a voice, one they were very familiar with.
"Ayo, Mayumi, can you spot me 20k!?" The voice caused Mayumi to freeze, not because she was insulted, but out of pure confusion.
She immediately spun around, Naoto doing the same. "Dad/Gramps!?"
Standing behind them was the one who left his family behind, with his overwhelming bumness—the strongest sorcerer in history, Naohiro Zenin.
He did a two-finger wave. "The one and only."
Despite being a grandfather, he looked younger than Mayumi. Had she known better, one could have mistaken Naohiro for a 25-year-old man.
The truth behind his immortality is in his adaptation to negative status effects. The moment his body started to deteriorate, it naturally adapted. The result is ageless immortality. No matter how long he lives, his body will never deteriorate again due to age-related causes.
Mayumi suddenly vanished from Naoto's side as she sent a drop kick straight at Naohiro's face. "You asshole!"
Before she reached him, he casually bent backward, making Mayumi fly over him and missing him completely.
Standing back up, he huffed a laugh in mock annoyance. "You're just like Naoya was! Why do you both like to drop kick me?" He turned back toward the direction she had flown, which happened to be next to the line, causing panic among the masses.
Ui Ui spoke up in irritation. "You can have your...'family reunion' INSIDE! Don't ruin my business!" His wrinkled hands clenched, holding the stack of bills.
This caused Naohiro to turn toward him with a raised eyebrow. "You say something, sister fuc-"
"DAD!" Mayumi appeared out of nowhere and grabbed his collar to drag him, making sure to pay Ui Ui on the way into the tent.
As she dragged her father into the tent, the first thing she saw was a mass of people in a circle, surrounding a pillar with countless screens on every side, displaying Dabura sitting amid debris.
Seeing Mayumi distracted, Naohiro spoke to Naoto. "How have you been, kid? Yuji said some interesting things about you."
During their mini-training arc with Gojo, Yuji explained some of the training he and Naoto underwent and some of the traits Naoto displayed as a part-shikigami human.
Naoto's eye twitched as he gave him a deadpan expression. "You are really socially unaware for an old man, aren't you?" Shaking his head, he sighed. "Good, I guess. Still not a fan of getting beaten up over and over."
Naohiro gave a small smile and looked back behind him to Mayumi, who was still holding his shirt's collar. "That's good, and from the looks of things, Mayumi is doing pretty well, too, being this lively."
Mayumi let go of his collar, intending to drop him on the floor, but he caught himself. "What's got you all mad, Mayumi?"
Spinning around, she has a baffled look on her face, as if asking, 'Are you shitting me?'
She crossed her arms and glared at him. "You leave for years, and the one time you show back up is to ask me for MONEY!?"
Naohiro was initially going to sneak in, but was surprised and accidentally revealed his presence, seeing his grandson and daughter. By the time it was too late, Ui Ui noticed him, which would've alerted Mayumi and Naoto regardless, so he just decided to ask Mayumi, since he'd forgotten his wallet and hadn't come here intending to pay.
He couldn't be bothered to keep sitting on top of the building to watch when he could catch the entire fight in HD on a TV screen. Ui Ui was a freak, but he sure knew how to record a fight with crows.
His technique [Spatial Transferrence] allows him to teleport with a sheet, but it can also let a person switch souls. Since he could use Mei Mei's crows without her, Naohiro didn't want to know how he could use them, but he had a few guesses.
Naohiro barely showed a modicum of remorse. "Sorry, sorry. I'll make it up to you after this whole alien thing is over with."
Mayumi rubbed her forehead. "Why are you even here? Shouldn't you be supporting Gojo or something?" She gave him a side glance. "And not treating this like a baseball game?"
That caused Naohiro to shrug, then look at the TV. "Satoru will be fine." He had a small smile. "You think I'm his babysitter, or something?"
Mayumi opened her mouth, but decided to close it once she realized it would be pointless to continue arguing with her father.
Naoto spoke, ending the father-daughter argument. "But isn't it already over?" The screen panned to Gojo using his second Hollow Purple. "That Dabura guy is down and can't hit him. Gojo has been tossing him around."
Flick
Naohiro flicked Naoto's forehead and spoke with a small smile. "Don't ever call it until the fight is over." Naoto held his forehead, looking annoyed as Naohiro continued. "The moment you think you won a fight is when your guard is at its lowest. Make sure to remember this lesson. Never, in any circumstance, think that a fight is over until the enemy stops breathing."
"Thanks, sensei." Mayumi mocked.
Her remark caused Naohiro to smirk. "I used to be a pretty damn good teacher, after all." He looked back toward the screen. "Besides, I've got a feeling this is going to be more interesting than you guys think."
Of course, there couldn't be a major fight like this without gambling on who would win, especially since it was run by a member of one of the most money-hungry families.
Despite its significance, there was a 5-1 bet ratio in favor of Gojo. It was apparent that Earth had faith that one of their 'monsters' could take on a random alien, and, based on the fight currently underway, the room was excited.
To everyone but a select few, the fight was already over.
Dabura had no way past infinity, and Gojo was still firing at full output. It would be a miracle if Dabura pulled something out of his ass to turn this situation around...
-
'His barrier has to have conditions.' Dabura thought as he was flying hundreds of feet in the air.
Seeing Gojo jump toward him with a wide smile, Dabura kept evading by jumping, flipping, and focusing fully on defense. It was much easier for Dabura to play 'keep away' than to actively attack Gojo.
Gojo's fist connected with Dabura's arm. "Come on, you've gotta figure it out." He smirked in the air. "If you don't do it quickly, you're going to lose."
This fight had proved one thing to Gojo.
Dabura didn't know how to nullify his cursed technique.
This meant that Dabura had no idea what a Domain Expansion or Domain Amplification was. Instead of getting tossed through the city, he would've activated them already if he had a counter.
Dabura's eyes twitched. 'His barrier...it's not even a barrier. It's more like an energy field that slows anything that comes near it.' He received an uppercut, but Dabura kept a casual look on his face as he stared down at Gojo. 'Even when he hits or touches me, I can't touch him, so it's not an on or off variable.'
He gets punched in the side, causing his body to tense up. 'And even if I put all my power into a punch, the most it will do is get closer to him than before. However, it exponentially slows me down, so it doesn't matter how hard I try to hit him.'
To outsiders, it looked as if Dabura was giving up, since he was doing nothing but defending and taking Gojo's hits.
Dabura's eyes widen slightly as he sees the buildings that should've been destroyed, repairing themselves. 'This city... It's a massive, rolloluca field!'
Gojo appeared in front of Dabura, grabbed his horns, and kneed him in the face, causing Dabura's head to flail back, and blood started pouring down his nose.
'So why? Why is the rollocula field touching him, yet mine can't!? It's like he filters out hostile action, but what constitutes hostile in its eyes?' Dabura's thoughts raced, feeling like he was missing something, a variable that would get him out of this situation.
As Gojo was about to follow up, Dabura spoke. "[████]." An invisible force destroyed the surroundings, but Gojo was unaffected, keeping the smirk on his face. 'So even murderous intent given shape doesn't work.'
Dabura made a cross guard as Gojo kicked it, sending him through another building. 'Does the rolloluca field operate differently from regular techniques? What is it!?'
His eyes widened further when he saw Gojo's, and his clothes were back to normal, with no more tears or blemishes. 'It's this field! We're both under its effects. It repairs any physical structure damage. He is no exception, meaning outside rolloluca can reach him!'
He was brought out of his thoughts as he caught a red glint in the corner of his eye.
Gojo spoke while floating in front of him, upside down, with his finger raised. "[Cursed Technique Reversal: Red]." With those words, a beam of red energy covered the entirety of Dabura, sending him plummeting into the ground.
Lying down in the rubble, Dabura now had more burns, and blood was now steadily pouring down his body from the various injuries he sustained. 'Reversal? Rolloluca field? Slowing energy fields? There is so much I don't know about this world's Jujutsu.'
Dabura's casual face slowly morphed into a small smile. "It looks like this technique already exists on Earth." Standing up, he smirked to himself. "It seems like Earth's sorcery is quite advanced compared to our own."
The atmosphere changed, and Gojo could feel it.
Gojo neared closer, just enough to hear Dabura speak. "I would like to apologize for my previous statement. You are truly a fascinating warrior."
Instead of being worried, Gojo's smile widened to unimaginable heights as Dabura brought his hands together. "Let's see if you can block this with your energy field...[Domain Expansion: Otherworld Between Darkness and Light: Reverse Transcendence]."
Cursed energy exploded from Dabura's feet as a black barrier formed above the two sorcerers, showcasing an abstractly shaped, blocky structure.
Stab
Gojo suddenly had a light rod piercing his arm. Despite this, the smile never left his face as he stared at the man floating in front of the structure.
Dabura's fangs have finally reached the untouchable man.
