Jiang Ye had never encountered treasures that stirred his heart so deeply.
Before him floated radiant divine artifacts:
Soaring Dragon Divine Stone Primordial Chaos Divine Pearl Primordial Chaos Divine Lotus Azure Heaven Divine Jade
Their very names hinted at their celestial origins.
Their quality undoubtedly rivaled, if not surpassed, the Enlightenment Divine Jade.
Only one choice? Jiang Ye wrestled with his dilemma.
Each treasure held irresistible allure.
The Soaring Dragon Divine Stone? It could reshape innate aptitude—a power that would drive any first-tier civilization to madness.
Then there was the Azure Heaven Divine Jade, capable of withstanding any attack below the Divine realm.
Most crucially, it could be activated with just a third breakthrough!
While ninth-tier treasures existed within the Blue Star Civilization, a ninth-tier artifact operable with a third breakthrough was simply unheard of.
Beyond these, every other treasure possessed its own irresistible allure, making it impossible to part with any of them.
Yet soon, Jiang Ye's gaze settled on one particular treasure.
It was a treasure pearl emitting a faint glow.
"The Soaring Dragon Divine Stone and Azure Heaven Divine Jade are undoubtedly valuable," Jiang Ye thought to himself, "but the Primordial Chaos Divine Pearl can repair innate aptitudes. It's the only thing that can help Senior Sister."
Chen Zilu's innate avatar had been damaged when she shielded him from a fatal blow. Now that he had found a treasure that could restore her, Jiang Ye had no reason to hesitate.
Of course, a sliver of hesitation lingered in his heart.
Treasures like the Soaring Dragon Divine Stone, Primordial Chaos Divine Lotus, and Azure Heaven Divine Jade would be immensely beneficial to him. Choosing the Primordial Chaos Divine Pearl would offer him no personal gain.
From a purely selfish perspective, Jiang Ye should choose one of the other treasures. To become strong, one sometimes had to be selfish.
"Which one should I choose?" Jiang Ye pondered, torn.
Suddenly, he thought, "If my innate aptitude were damaged and Senior Sister had to choose, she would probably choose the Primordial Chaos Divine Pearl without hesitation." Jiang Ye shook his head and smiled. "What am I hesitating for?"
Having such a wonderful senior sister meant he should cherish her properly.
Jiang Ye had already made up his mind.
But just as he was about to speak, a voice suddenly rang out:
"Bai Gu, do you remember me?"
Immediately afterward, a figure in white robes, carrying a sword on its back, materialized with a whoosh. The white robes billowed, the figure exuding a serene and otherworldly aura, as pure and holy as the radiant moon.
It was Bai Gui.
Jiang Ye was stunned. Why had Bai Gui appeared? Wasn't she afraid of being detected by the overseer?
The next moment, an even more astonishing scene unfolded.
"Lord Bai Gui?"
The towering figure trembled, disbelief flooding his face. "Lord Bai Gui, what are you doing here?!"
"Bai Gu," Bai Gui said with a gentle smile, "it's been ten thousand years. You're still as dense as ever."
"You..." The towering figure's eyes shook as realization dawned. "You emerged from this brat's body?"
"What 'brat'?" Bai Gui's delicate face hardened slightly. "Call him young master!"
"What?"
"Young master?" The towering figure froze completely, staring at Jiang Ye in utter disbelief.
Jiang Ye, too, was utterly stunned.
What's going on here?
Does Bai Gui know this Divine Temple powerhouse?
And Bai Gui's status seems far higher than his!
In an instant, countless thoughts flooded Jiang Ye's mind.
"Senior Bai Gui," Jiang Ye began cautiously. "Is this senior also a strongman from the White Dragon Civilization?"
"Indeed," Bai Gui nodded. "His name is Bai Gu. He was one of my master's former subordinates."
Jiang Ye understood.
So he was indeed a powerhouse from the White Dragon Civilization.
How could a strongman from the White Dragon Civilization appear within the civilization temple of the Star Realm Sea?
Jiang Ye's mind was filled with questions.
"Bai Gu," Bai Gui introduced to the towering figure, "this is Jiang Ye, the inheritor I have chosen."
"He is also the sole Core Heir of the White Dragon Civilization."
"By right, you should address him as Young Master," Bai Gui said slowly.
"This?"
"Lord Bai Gui, are you serious?" Bai Gu still seemed incredulous. "His strength is only at the fourth breakthrough."
He knew of Jiang Ye's achievements.
While commendable, they were far from exceptional by the standards of a third-tier civilization.
"He is indeed at the fourth breakthrough," Bai Gui said calmly. "But just a few months ago—less than a year ago—he had only just broken through to the second breakthrough."
"What?"
"Are you saying that in less than a year, he advanced from the second breakthrough to the Late Stage Fourth Breakthrough?" Bai Gu's expression shifted completely as he stared at Jiang Ye.
This speed was truly astonishing!
It's important to understand that even with Transcendent Aptitude, progressing from the third to the fourth breakthrough typically takes at least a year.
Achieving Jiang Ye's level requires a perfect combination of innate talent, opportunity, and luck.
Among these, luck is the most crucial factor!
"No wonder," Bai Gu murmured, his gaze shifting as he studied Jiang Ye thoughtfully.
After a moment, Bai Gu suddenly bowed slightly toward Jiang Ye.
"Subordinate Bai Gu," he declared with utmost solemnity, "pays respects to the young master."
"Senior, there's no need for such formality," Jiang Ye quickly protested.
"Don't call me 'senior'," Bai Gu replied earnestly. "Since you are the heir chosen by Lord Bai Gui, I should address you as 'young master.' You may call me Bai Gu."
"I'd still prefer to call you Senior Bai Gu," Jiang Ye said, feeling a chill run down his spine.
"Very well," Bai Gu smiled. "If the young master prefers it, then so be it."
Jiang Ye's lips twitched slightly, at a loss for words.
The man's sudden change in demeanor was truly astonishing.
"Jiang Ye, there's no need to feel constrained," Bai Gui chuckled. "Bai Gu is a good man; he won't make things difficult for you."
"Senior Bai Gui, what exactly is going on here?" Jiang Ye asked, his mind swirling with questions.
"I'll explain later," Bai Gui smiled. "For now, choose your reward."
"Right," Jiang Ye nodded, snapping back to the present.
His gaze swept over the array of treasures before him.
Suddenly, Bai Gu interjected, "Choose? There's no need to choose. Since the young master desires them, I shall bestow them all upon him."
With a grand wave of his hand, he declared, "Take them all!"
Whoosh~
The treasures suspended in mid-air flew directly to Jiang Ye and piled up at his feet.
Jiang Ye stared in stunned silence.
"Senior," he couldn't help but ask, "is this... allowed?"
"For me," Bai Gu replied, "the young master's rules are the highest law."
You've changed your tune remarkably quickly, Jiang Ye thought, too overwhelmed to even retort. Yet his heart overflowed with joy.
All these treasures... are mine now?
The Soaring Dragon Divine Stone, the Primordial Chaos Divine Pearl, the Primordial Chaos Divine Lotus...
Gazing at the treasures on the ground, Jiang Ye felt dizzy. Am I still in the illusionary realm?
"Young master, please accept them," Bai Gu urged.
"Although the Star Realm Sea's rules dictate that trial-takers may only claim one item," Bai Gu explained, "as the master of this Divine Temple, I have the authority to override that rule."
"If future visitors find nothing left to take, so be it."
