Chapter 383 - Chapter 371: The Internet Is Heaven, the Keyboard Is the Bible

Hearing that Alex wanted to have a good talk with the 'keyboard warriors,' and even a face-to-face talk, Ashley only felt a chill down her back, and couldn't help but tighten her buttocks and straighten her chest, forcing out a smile.

"Sir, do you need me to contact them for you?"

"No need."

"I already know where they are, and who they are," Alex smiled faintly. Just now, while looking at those comments on the tablet, he had already sent out streams of information, entering the network, finding the IPs of those 'keyboard warriors,' and through the cameras of their electronic devices, memorizing their appearances.

Ashley nodded, then said, "There's one more thing, sir."

Alex turned his head and glanced at her, "What else is there?"

"It's like this."

"Mr. President invites you to the White House next Monday to attend the medal ceremony."

"He believes that last time, because of the super meteorite incident, many things were not done properly, and your becoming a general was never formally announced to the public."

"He hopes you can attend the medal ceremony. At that time, the ceremony will be broadcast live globally."

"He said he wants to solemnly announce to the world that the finest, most powerful general in the Federation's history has been born."

Ashley licked her lips. She was very excited, because if Alex attended this ceremony, Vought's stock would definitely skyrocket.

As one of the shareholders, the dividends she could get made her naturally happy to facilitate this matter.

"Oh, is that so."

Alex said with a smile, "No problem."

"You go tell Mr. President that I will attend on time."

Ashley immediately said, "Sir, I'll have the PR department prepare a speech for you right away. No, prepare several, and you can pick one yourself when the time comes."

Alex shook his head and said: "No need for all that trouble."

"Speeches and such, I can handle myself."

Seeing Alex say this, Ashley stopped insisting.

She quickly left. After walking out of the command hall, she began calling the White House President's Office to relay Alex's meaning.

Alex clapped his hands and said with a smile, "I'm going out for a stroll too."

———

And with that stroll, he arrived at the Department of Defense building.

In the Department of Defense building, Victoria Neuman walked with her head up and chest out through the corridor leading to her office.

Thanks to Alex's recommendation, she had successfully become the Secretary to the Secretary of Defense, formally becoming one of the core figures of this country.

Although she was still quite a distance from the true core, compared to her previous identity as a congresswoman, she was already much more senior.

Now every day she came into contact with the country's classified secrets, and this was something she wouldn't have dared to imagine before.

Even now, sometimes she still wondered if she was dreaming.

She couldn't believe she had actually made it this far.

Of course, Neuman was very clear that relying on herself alone, it would have been very difficult to enter this country's core units.

The reason she could stand at her current height was entirely because of that man.

That man who had changed her entire life.

That man who made her soul yearn and her dreams linger.

"Good morning."

"Good morning."

Everyone who passed by, whether sincerely or falsely, would greet her.

This was not only because of her status as secretary, but also because behind her stood the most powerful man in the world.

But come to think of it.

That man hadn't appeared for quite some time.

'Where could he be?'

Just as this thought flashed through her mind, Neuman walked into her office and saw someone sitting in her chair, holding a photo frame and looking at it.

Seeing her enter, he put down the photo frame and said with a grin, "Good morning."

'Homelander!'

Neuman couldn't stop a smile from appearing on her face.

She quickly closed the office door.

Turned off all surveillance.

Then sat down on Alex's lap.

"It's so good to see you, sir."

Alex chuckled, "Am I really this popular?"

Neuman brushed back her hair, looked at Alex's azure eyes and said: "I can't think of any woman who could refuse your passion."

Alex scanned Neuman and said, "Your heartbeat is too fast."

"It's fine."

Neuman's breathing intensified, "I can make it beat even more violently."

Then she bit her lip by Alex's ear and said, "I haven't had breakfast yet."

Alex understood immediately, laughed heartily, and pressed his hand on Neuman's head, "Then let you taste my power."

Immediately, in this office, wherever Alex's spear pointed, he was invincible.

———

It was nearly noon.

Neuman poured herself a glass of water to soothe her throat, which felt as if a ball of fire was burning in it, and then said, "Mr. President hopes to invite you to attend Monday's medal ceremony."

Alex nodded, "I know."

"What can I do for you?", Neuman asked.

Alex smiled faintly, "That's exactly why I came to find you."

"I think the Federation has been too lax in its internet management."

"Perhaps they should strengthen strict controls in this area."

"So that some people don't think the internet is a lawless land where they can do whatever they want."

Neuman immediately understood, "You mean that matter online about the Guardians of the Homeland."

Alex said with a chuckle, "Talking to smart people is so effortless."

Neuman took another sip of water and said, "I understand what to do, sir."

———

Afternoon...

[Washington, the White House]

President Rick Archibald walked into his office, and the office secretary reported.

"Sir, this morning we received a reply from Vought regarding the medal ceremony."

"Homelander has agreed to attend the ceremony, promising to arrive at the White House on time Monday morning."

Archibald let out a hum, took off his suit, and had the secretary hang it on the coat rack.

He sat down in his chair, opened a drawer, and took out a box of Cuban cigars.

The secretary came to his side, skillfully prepared the cigar for him, and lit it.

The President took a puff, then looked at the officials in the office and said.

"What do you all think?"

These officials looked at each other, not daring to casually offer opinions.

After all, that was Homelander.

Anything related to Homelander required caution.

General Mack coughed and said, "The medal ceremony will be broadcast globally, Mr. President. This is an opportunity for us."

"Ever since the super meteorite incident last time, many countries have begun questioning whether the Federation can still control Homelander."

"They are very worried that Homelander, being uncontrollable, will become a ticking time bomb."

"I think perhaps we can take this opportunity, through some subtle means, to announce to the world that Homelander is still under our control."

The President puffed on his cigar, "Then how do you think we should make other countries believe we can still control Homelander, when he was never under our control in the first place?"

"Attitude."

General Mack said in a deep voice, "As long as we can get Homelander to cooperate, to show an attitude of cooperating with us, we can achieve this."
