Chapter 261 - Chapter 249: Administrator

The white-haired woman did not hesitate at all. She slammed the tip of her metal staff into the ground, and a portal opened behind her.

She looked at Alex and said, "This time, the Great Darkness was unable to descend."

"But you have successfully drawn his attention."

"Will you still be able to protect the Mother Boxes next time?"

"I'll be watching."

After saying that, she stepped back into the portal.

She did not dare turn around and walk into it. She did not dare expose her back to Alex.

Alex had no intention of chasing her either. After all, he was not from this universe.

If Darkseid came, he would be looking for trouble with Superman and the others.

Now that the white-haired woman had chosen to leave on her own, it was a good thing for him.

If everything went smoothly, the event should end here.

The portal closed, and the white-haired woman was nowhere to be seen.

Then a silver-white pillar of light descended, humming with a rumbling sound. Thousands of Parademons flew into the Boom Tube.

When the silver-white pillar rose into the sky and vanished, not a single Apokolips soldier remained.

"Done."

Alex slapped his fist into his palm. At that moment, information appeared on his retina.

[The Apokolips faction has withdrawn. You are only one step away from success.]

"What does that mean?"

"In other words, the event isn't over yet?"

"Why?"

"Don't we already have all three Mother Boxes?"

"The Apokolips faction has already withdrawn, so why hasn't the event ended?"

Suddenly, Alex looked toward the Dark Heavenly Prison.

"I see."

"The event requirement is to make sure the faction I'm in ultimately gets the three Mother Boxes."

"Right now, only Apokolips has withdrawn. The Justice League still hasn't given up."

"Looks like I'll have to 'convince' them."

Alex recalled his clone, ended the Divine Power 200% Output state, returned to normal, and sat down on a clean rock.

Since he wanted to "convince" the Justice League, clearly talking to Vera alone would not be enough.

Alex simply waited for Batman and the others to come to him.

"Too slow. They're using Bruce's private jet, aren't they?"

"If I'd known, I wouldn't have blown up their aircraft."

"I've already taken a nap, and there's still no sign of them."

Alex sat for a while, lay down for a while, then paced back and forth nearby.

But now, time seemed to crawl like a turtle.

Alex felt as if an entire century had passed, but in reality, only half an hour had gone by.

He looked at the Dark Heavenly Prison. There was no movement inside.

"Back then, the All-Father managed to break out of the prison. Vera can't do it?"

"Could it be that Odin broke it because of the Gungnir?"

"That's a good item, but it's too expensive."

"First Martin, now Vera."

"How many brothers and sisters do I actually have?"

"Earlier, Vera mentioned 'Them,' beings capable of correcting the plot."

"What could they be? The ones who issue the events?"

"Is someone controlling us?"

"Treating us like characters in some game?"

"If such beings really exist, then these people I can temporarily call 'Administrators' should exist in a dimension above the multiverse."

Alex raised his head and looked at the endless night sky, "Maybe the words I'm saying right now are appearing before them in text form."

At that moment, he noticed something flashing in the sky.

A short while later, an aircraft appeared in the empty sky.

A smile appeared on Alex's face.

The rest of the Justice League had arrived.

The cast was finally all on stage.

After some time, a private jet landed on the vast stretch of land cleared by the huge explosion.

The cabin door opened, and a bolt of lightning shot down to the ground.

Wearing a suit he had designed himself, Barry Allen looked around with some confusion.

"Victor, are you sure it's here?"

"Where's the nuclear power plant?"

"There's nothing here that could be called a nuclear power plant."

A silver figure flew out from the cabin door and rose into the air. It was Cyborg, Victor.

He looked around, then landed and said, "This is the right place."

"I don't know why the nuclear power plant is gone, but I can see him. The Conqueror."

Victor pointed toward where the power plant had once stood.

With long blond hair hanging loose like a rock singer's, Aquaman Arthur walked out of the cabin and jumped to the ground. He planted his silver trident and said, "Then what are we waiting for?"

His black cape fluttered as Bruce landed beside Arthur.

"Something's wrong."

"There's not a single Parademon in sight."

"Where's the Apokolips army? Steppenwolf is gone too."

"What happened here?"

After asking that question, everyone looked in the same direction.

The Conqueror.

Alex sat on a large rock with his arms folded.

Not long afterward, a flash of lightning streaked past him.

Then a silver figure descended from the sky.

After that, Bruce arrived in his vehicle, with Arthur standing on it.

Including Vera, who was trapped inside the Dark Heavenly Prison, every member of the Justice League was present.

Only then did Alex unfold his arms and stand up.

"Good evening, gentlemen."

Bruce and the others exchanged looks, but Victor spoke first.

"Where's Steppenwolf?"

"Steppenwolf?"

Alex looked around, then pointed toward a corner of where the nuclear power plant had been, "He should be over there."

"Over there?"

Victor immediately flew over, but apart from a stretch of blackened ground, he saw nothing.

"Yeah, over there."

"After Steppenwolf died, his remains were left there. But then the fire burned everything, and nothing was left."

Alex spread his hands in a helpless gesture.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

Bruce and the others all looked at Alex.

"Steppenwolf is dead?"

"How did he die?"

"What about the Apokolips army?"

One question after another was thrown at Alex.

Alex shrugged, "Steppenwolf called in a helper. Your Miss Vera couldn't handle both of them by herself, so she asked me for help."

"I killed Steppenwolf. After that, Apokolips' helper ran away."

"Oh, right. She said you've already drawn Darkseid's attention."

Bruce and the others looked strange.

Barry Allen glanced at Batman, then at Alex.

"We only just arrived. No matter how you look at it, it shouldn't be us drawing Apokolips' attention."

"Who knows," Alex snapped his fingers and dispelled the Dark Heavenly Prison.

The black energy scattered into the wind.

Vera, now back to normal, raised her head, "Oh, you finally got rid of that damned spell."

"Let me guess. That was the Darkhold?"

"Damn it! You actually got such a troublesome divine artifact."

Then she glanced at Bruce and the others and laughed, "As expected. I was wondering why I didn't get a failure notification."

"Looks like you still have to get past me before you can complete the event."

"In other words, I still have a chance!"
