Chapter 254 - Chapter 242: Not a Big Problem

'How do I know his name? Probably because I've read the script.'

The thought flashed through Alex's mind. Before he could respond, Diana spoke first, "Now isn't the time to talk about that. Since we've found the Apokolips base, what are we waiting for?"

Seeing that she was about to act, Alex quickly stopped her, "Now isn't the time."

Diana looked at Alex in confusion.

Alex let go of her hand and smiled, "Aren't you curious why I know this is an Apokolips base?"

Diana shook her head, "You even know about Steve. Knowing where the Apokolips base is isn't that strange."

Alex laughed, "Looks like you still care about that. After the Mother Box matter is over, if you're still interested, I can tell you."

"As for why I know about the Apokolips base, it's because I intercepted some information."

Having watched the movie, Alex roughly knew that Steppenwolf had set up a base somewhere in Russia, but he did not know the exact location.

So after taking the Mother Box from the Justice League, he used his "Information Domain" ability to hide around Bruce and the others.

The moment Victor obtained the exact coordinates, Alex learned them as well. He also learned that Vera had taken action.

Compared to him, the Justice League did not have a single Mother Box.

Alex was certain that woman was more anxious than he was right now.

So he was in no hurry to act. He was happy to let Vera and Steppenwolf wear each other down before making his move.

"Listen, Diana."

"I brought you here for a reason."

["I need you to do something."]

Alex used the ability "Mental Invasion," causing his words to sound directly inside Diana's mind.

This ensured that no one else would learn about their conversation.

[Northern Russia, Pozharnov]

Vera glanced at the GPS in her hand, "It should be around here."

She moved quickly and soon discovered Steppenwolf's base.

"Found it."

Without hesitation, Vera flew straight toward the base and landed at its edge.

At the moment, there were only two Mother Boxes, so the defensive barrier from the movie had not been raised.

Of course, even if it had been activated, it would have been useless. With Vera's abilities, she could still destroy it easily.

The moment Vera appeared, the nearby Parademons noticed her.

These Apokolips soldiers had wings, carried rifles, had pale skin, and wore silver armor.

They flew out from windows and buildings one after another.

Like flies, they swarmed toward Vera.

While still in the air, they opened fire. Streaks of red light crossed the sky and rained down on Vera.

The Parademons' rifles were not weak. One shot could kill an Amazon. Ordinary people did not even need to be mentioned.

But Vera was not an ordinary person. As a female Homelander who had unlocked the "Bio-Force Field," these weapons from Apokolips could not even break her defense.

With a dark expression, Vera walked forward.

Suddenly, she shot out and crashed into the middle of the Parademons.

Large numbers of them were smashed into pulp. A cloud of blood burst in the air, while bodies rained down with crackling sounds.

Seeing this, Parademons landed on the turrets attached to the modified nuclear power plant.

The laser turrets were far stronger than rifles. One Parademon locked onto Vera as she burst through the blood mist and immediately pulled the trigger.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Beams of light shot out and struck Vera, but only caused her body to sway slightly.

Vera snorted.

Her figure flickered, and a blurred ripple appeared in the air.

She passed through it.

A thunderous boom rang out overhead, and Vera had already landed on the turret.

She grabbed a Parademon. With a squeeze of her hand, she crushed its neck.

Then golden flames burst from her eyes. After sweeping them around, she turned the nearby turrets into fireballs.

As the flames rose, Vera smashed through the outer wall of the nuclear power plant and charged into its core. She smashed through obstacles and Parademons along the way until she reached the depths of the facility.

At a glance, Vera saw the metal monument containing the two Mother Boxes.

Her gaze landed on the two activated alien devices, glowing as the particles on their surfaces constantly shifted.

The woman's eyes immediately grew intense.

In a flash, Vera appeared in front of the monument and reached for one of them.

Suddenly, light appeared at the edge of her vision.

A blue stream of energy blasted across and struck toward Vera.

Vera's eyes lit up.

Golden flames burst from her pupils. She met it with her heat vision, colliding directly with the blue energy stream.

At the other end of the blue attack, Steppenwolf's eyes shone with blue light. Energy roared between his two horns as a continuous torrent blasted outward, trying to overpower Vera's heat vision.

At the same time, a tall figure stepped out from behind the metal monument.

It was a woman with white hair.

Her tall body was covered in alloy armor, a cloak moved behind her, and a metal staff rose into the air, releasing waves of light.

She brought the staff down.

Vera was locked in the heat vision clash. Seeing this, she could only bend her arm and strike the staff with her elbow.

The collision released an invisible shockwave.

Vera's body suddenly dropped.

The tall woman forced her down with a single strike, pushing her onto one knee.

The ground beneath her cracked into a dense web of fractures.

Vera stared in disbelief.

Her body flashed backward, opening some distance.

Floating in the air, she looked at the tall woman beside the metal monument and Steppenwolf, who had already jumped back near the Mother Boxes.

"So this is the woman you were talking about?", the white-haired woman asked.

She was no longer young. Crow's feet were obvious, and the lines beside her mouth were deep. Yet her entire body gave off an astonishing energy presence.

Vera stood stunned.

Several seconds passed before she remembered who this person was.

In the movie, this woman was one of the Apokolips elites who served Darkseid alongside DeSaad.

Her identity had never been revealed in the film.

But in the comics, she was known as Granny Goodness.

Vera immediately gritted her teeth, "It's all that bastard's fault!"

"He changed the plot. And now the corrections are getting more and more ridiculous!"

High in the sky, Alex let out a soft sound.

"Hm?"

Diana looked at him.

"What is it?"

Alex frowned slightly, "Apokolips has reinforcements."

Diana was surprised, "Someone besides Steppenwolf came?"

Alex nodded, "An old woman. But she doesn't seem like a simple character."

"Looks like not rushing in was the right choice. Let that woman help me test the situation first."

Alex winked at Diana, "The plan stays the same."

"There's just one more variable. Not a big problem."
