Chapter 127 - Chapter 127: I Don’t Think I Need to Follow Your Orders, Sorcerer

[You have actively triggered a multiverse event.]

[Event Name: Avengers]

[Description: The Tesseract has awakened. The God of Mischief, Loki, used the Tesseract's spatial teleportation ability to enter S.H.I.E.L.D.'s research base, instantly took control of Dr. Selvig and Hawkeye, and made off with the Tesseract. Arriving at this moment, what kind of changes will you bring to this already turbulent universe?]

[Event Requirement: None.]

[Note: You may act freely. When you leave this universe, the event will end. Your actions during the event will be evaluated, and rewards will be issued accordingly.]

At the same time, a flood of information appeared across Alex's retina.

He smiled.

The Marvel world, just like the DC universe, could be called a treasure trove.

Although what was happening now was the Avengers event, Alex could act freely, which meant there was a lot of room to operate.

For example, he could go to Wakanda and get himself a Vibranium suit, and maybe even stir something up there to see if Vibranium could show up in the shop's item list.

For example, when the Chitauri army invaded Earth, he could pass through the wormhole into the other side of the universe and strike directly at their base. That should earn him quite a bit of proficiency.

For example, he could interact with, or even fight against, superheroes like Thor and the Hulk, gaining proficiency while also trying to refresh their equipment into the shop.

Finally, he could go cause trouble for Loki.

Loki had the Cosmic Cube, and his scepter was embedded with the Mind Stone. Those were all top-tier divine artifacts.

'But before that...'

Alex glanced at the girl beside him.

'I should take her somewhere safe first.'

In a few days, a major battle would break out in New York. He had no intention of leaving Caitlin in such a dangerous place.

"Caitlin, let's head to a hotel first."

Just as Alex finished speaking, he suddenly saw the air in front of him turn into a constantly shifting mirror. In the mirror, he saw countless versions of himself and Caitlin.

'Mirror Dimension?'

Alex was startled.

At that moment, Caitlin asked, "What's wrong, Mr. John?"

Alex's expression turned serious as he slowly turned around, "We've got trouble."

"Trouble?"

"Are the police checking IDs? I've got experience with that, let me handle them," Caitlin had no idea just how big the trouble they were facing really was.

At this moment, Alex saw a figure in a yellow robe standing right in front of them. The person's face was hidden beneath a hood. With a slight twist of their wrist, the surrounding space stretched outward endlessly like a kaleidoscope.

Only then did Alex finally confirm who he was facing.

The Ancient One, the Sorcerer Supreme.

The protector of Earth, guarding the planet from invasions and destruction by evil beings from other parts of the multiverse.

This was one of the characters in the Marvel world that Alex found particularly troublesome.

People who could pull off tricks like this were always a pain.

Without hesitation, he raised his hand and lightly tapped Caitlin on the shoulder, using an extremely gentle force to knock her unconscious.

He laid the girl down to the side, took out the "Cape of Justice" from his inventory, and fastened the red cloak onto her, granting her the protection of a "biological force field."

Only then did he speak.

"Master Ancient One, what is the meaning of this?"

The figure in the yellow robe moved slightly, then reached up and pulled back the hood, revealing a bald head.

Looking exactly the same as in the movie, the Sorcerer Supreme spoke, "A guest from another universe, and you actually know my name?"

Alex shrugged, "I've heard of you. Where I come from, you're quite a big deal."

"Is that so?"

The Ancient One smiled, "In that case, would you be willing to go back?"

"Things on our side are about to get a bit troublesome. It's really not convenient to entertain guests from other universes."

Alex gave a casual laugh, "Unfortunately, we can't go back for the time being."

"Is that so? Then I'd like to ask you to remain in this Mirror Dimension until you're willing to leave. What do you think?", The Ancient One clasped her hands behind her back, composed and graceful.

Alex smiled. The temperature of the surrounding space rose rapidly, and even the light turned a reddish-orange.

Whoosh!

His plaid shirt and jeans ignited, revealing the black combat suit underneath, protected by the biological force field.

"I don't think I need to follow your orders, Sorcerer."

"And I'm the kind of person who hates being restrained."

"So, you see, letting us leave would be good for both you and me."

"If you get injured, how are you going to protect the Sanctum here when the trouble arrives?"

The Ancient One narrowed her eyes slightly, "It seems you really do know me well, even aware of the Sanctum."

"In that case, I have even more reason not to let you leave."

"And it appears my instincts were correct."

"Among the two 'guests' from another universe, you are filled with an evil aura. I cannot allow someone like you to act freely in this universe."

As she spoke, the Ancient One raised her hands. With a twist of both wrists, the entire world began to rotate.

Alex felt like he was inside a giant drum. In the blink of an eye, the outer walls of skyscrapers became the ground, and space flipped into chaotic disarray.

He didn't care. The moment his feet left the ground, he floated in midair. No matter how the space twisted and turned, it couldn't affect him.

Caitlin, protected by the "Cape of Justice," slid onto the outer wall of a building. At that moment, the Ancient One spread her hand, and a window in front of Caitlin opened. The girl slid inside, and the window shut again.

Alex glanced at the Ancient One, "You'd better not hurt her."

The Ancient One smiled, "I'm well aware that the girl doesn't know what kind of person you are."

"Don't worry, I won't harm her."

"The one I intend to imprison is you."

She raised both hands again and made a gesture. The buildings behind Alex lifted into the air, their shapes shifting as sharp edges smoothed out. The buildings curled up like rolled newspapers, turning into massive cylinders that rolled forward from behind, trying to crush Alex within them.

"That's meaningless."

Alex smiled and didn't move, letting the cylindrical buildings come at him.

As the buildings pressed toward him, their massive weight squeezed his body. An ordinary person would have been flattened into pulp.

But under the protection of the biological force field, Alex felt nothing at all. As the buildings rolled past him, they instead cracked under the pressure of his body.

In the distance, the Ancient One extended both hands forward. With a sharp motion, yellow light flared, instantly forming a circular magic array.

The Ring of Raggadorr.

This was one of the most commonly used defensive spells by both the Ancient One and Doctor Strange. But in the hands of the Ancient One, it could be used for both offense and defense, endlessly versatile.

Sure enough, the moment she manifested the Ring of Raggadorr, she used one of the rings like a flying disc and hurled it straight at Alex.
