Alex turned his head to look. Behind them stood a woman dressed in flashy clothes.
With big wavy hair, a cheap evening dress with a low-cut neckline, and a crystal necklace hanging from her neck, the smug-looking white woman stared at Caitlin like a triumphant winner, full of pride.
Caitlin didn't shrink back because of her words. She simply smiled openly.
"Good evening, Dolly. Are you here to watch the musical?"
The woman named Dolly immediately pulled the man in a suit beside her.
"Yes. This is my boyfriend, Steven Jansen."
"He spent a whole month preparing just so he could accompany me to watch this musical tonight."
"Oh right, Steven is a cashier at the Federal Reserve headquarters. If you ever need to handle any banking business, he can help you."
Without waiting for Caitlin to reply, the woman continued in a tone full of pity.
"But I suppose, Caitlin, you probably won't need to go to the headquarters to handle any business. The little bit you earn every month probably barely covers your rent and utilities, right?"
Then she looked at Alex.
"Is this your boyfriend?"
Caitlin replied, "No. Mr. John is my neighbor."
"Neighbor?"
Dolly looked Alex up and down.
"Mr. Neighbor, you're not trying to make a move on our Caitlin, are you?"
"She was born blind. If you bully her too, she'll be even more pitiful."
Caitlin smiled, "Thank you for your concern, Dolly."
"But I've never felt that I'm pitiful."
"I was born with a disability, yes, but when God closes one door, He opens another window."
"My eyes can't see, but I can hear more than other people. So I don't feel pitiful at all."
Dolly burst out laughing, "Alright, alright. Caitlin, you're still just as stubborn."
"Hmm! Did you buy premium seats?"
"Maybe we can go in together?"
Alex smiled.
"No need. I have a friend who'll bring us in."
"Your friend?"
Dolly covered her mouth and laughed.
"Is it an electrician friend from the theater?"
At that moment, her boyfriend beside her smiled and said, "It's getting late, Dolly. We still have to go through ticket inspection."
Dolly said, "Then we'll go first, Caitlin, and Mr. Neighbor."
"Hope to see you inside the hall. Bye."
After they left, Caitlin said, "That woman is really annoying. She's always trying to show off in front of everyone."
"I'm sorry, Mr. John. You ended up being looked down on because of her too."
Alex laughed, "I'll make a call and have my friend come out to get us earlier."
He walked to the side and took out his phone, "Ashley, do me a favor."
At the entrance of Carnegie Hall, there were two ticket-checking lines.
One was for regular seats, the other was for premium seats.
The premium-seat line was almost completely clear, while the regular-seat line had a long queue.
Dolly and her boyfriend Steven were standing in the regular-seat line.
Everyone in this line was dressed modestly, which made Dolly, who looked like she was attending a grand gala, seem both conspicuous and ridiculous.
Dolly said angrily, "What's going on? Didn't you say you bought premium tickets?"
Steven hurriedly said, "Darling, don't be angry. I didn't want this either. But you know how hard it is to buy premium tickets."
At that moment, a man passing nearby whispered, "Sir, want premium-seat tickets? Two thousand each. If you buy two, I'll give you a deal. Only thirty-five hundred."
Steven said awkwardly, "We don't need them, sir. We already bought our tickets."
The scalper glared at him, muttered "poor bastard," and walked away.
After finally reaching the ticket checkpoint, Steven quickly handed over two tickets.
The staff member responsible for checking them looked at the names and said, "Please wait a moment."
Then he used an internal communicator.
"Mr. Bart, Mr. Steven and Miss Dolly have arrived."
Hearing that, Dolly froze for a moment and asked, "Who is Mr. Bart?"
The ticket checker smiled.
"Our hall manager."
Dolly laughed.
"Steven, you even know the hall manager here? Is he coming to welcome us personally?"
Steven looked confused.
"Maybe?"
Soon a dignified-looking man walked out from the door.
"I'm the hall manager, Bart."
He took Steven's two tickets.
Rip! Rip! Rip!
He tore them into pieces, then smiled and said, "I'm very sorry, Mr. Steven Jansen, and Miss Dolly."
"The two of you are blacklisted customers of Carnegie Hall."
"So you are not welcome here."
He then took out an envelope and stuffed it into Steven's hand.
"This contains double the price of your tickets. Please leave."
After saying that, the hall manager didn't even glance at them again before walking away.
In the end, Dolly and Steven were "escorted" out by the concert hall's security.
Standing at the entrance, the woman shouted, "Why did this happen?"
"Why are we blacklisted customers?"
"Now my coworkers will laugh at me!"

Inside a VIP box at Carnegie Hall, Alex closed the door, "Sit down. The musical is about to start."
"This room was arranged by my friend. It's a storage room. You don't mind, do you?"
Caitlin sat down and felt around the surroundings.
"This isn't a storage room, is it? It's very clean. And the seat I'm sitting on is a genuine leather sofa. Isn't that something only VIP boxes have?"
Alex peeled an orange and started eating it, "You're right. I heard the sofa was just moved here from a box and was about to be thrown away."
"Want something to eat? He gave us some biscuits and fruit."
Caitlin said innocently, "Mr. John, your friend is really a good person."
Alex smiled.
Then he scanned the surroundings and located Angelina in another box.
Angelina was standing at the viewing platform.
Just above her, inside the passage pipes overhead, Alex detected a suspicious mass of liquid moving.
"He's here."
Recently, Angelina had been appearing in all kinds of public places to lure out the Liquid Man.
The superpowered assassin who had once tried to kill her in the Seven Tower was extremely cautious. Only recently had Angelina begun sensing his presence.
Tonight, the Liquid Man had approached Angelina again.
And this time, he was closer than ever before.
Using the Seven's internal communicator, Alex said to Angelina, "He's right above you."
"Give him a chance, Nana."
At that moment, the musical began.
The lights throughout the hall went dark, and the music started.
In the other box, Angelina stood quietly on the viewing platform, as if her attention had been completely drawn to the performance on stage.
After patiently watching for a while, she said she needed to go to the restroom.
When she arrived at the restroom, two female bodyguards accompanied her inside.
The restroom was quiet, brightly lit. The fragrance system kept the air fresh, giving off a faint pleasant scent.
Angelina pushed open a stall door and walked in.
After the door closed, drops of water began dripping from the ventilation opening in the restroom.
In a corner the two female bodyguards couldn't see, liquid kept flowing out of the vent.
The liquid silently fell to the floor, then slid along the ground.
Eventually it slipped into the stall where Angelina was.
Just as the liquid entered, Angelina had just finished using the toilet.
When she turned around to flush, the liquid suddenly surged upward, quickly forming into a man.
One of the man's hands remained liquid and transformed into a dagger.
He stabbed it toward Angelina's back.
