West City
After the conversation in the Chat Group, Vegeta's face showed a complex expression.
"Trunks... my son!"
He hadn't expected that brat to actually be his child with that Earth woman, and a Super Saiyan in the future.
"Androids, huh..."
How could such things be a match for me, Vegeta?
Vegeta left the training room, took a quick shower, and then, dressed in casual clothes, went to Bulma's residence.
Speaking of which, besides that one time he was unconscious and Bulma carried him back, he had never once entered Bulma's residence.
Knock knock knock.
"Bulma, are you there?"
"Who is it...?"
A slightly confused voice came from inside.
"It's me, Vegeta, I have something to talk to you about."
"Come in. It's truly unbelievable that you Saiyan even knock on doors."
Hearing Bulma's words, a vein popped out on Vegeta's forehead.
I am a Saiyan, not a wild monkey from a zoo.
Compared to you, an Earth woman who takes advantage of others, I am far more civilized.
For the sake of the suspected "Trunks" in her belly.
I, Vegeta, won't bother with you.
Vegeta pushed open the door and walked in.
What met his eyes was a pregnant woman sitting at a table, tinkering with some mechanical object.
"You're pregnant, yet you're still doing this kind of work. Aren't you afraid something will happen?"
"Afraid of what? Anyway, you don't care about the child in my belly, and besides, even if I die, I can just use the Dragon Balls to be revived."
Vegeta: "..."
"Our family isn't without other assistants. You can just have them do it. Why work so hard?"
Vegeta found this woman to be truly stubborn!
"Our family..."
Bulma's hands, which were flipping through books and material, stopped. She looked up at Vegeta.
"Vegeta, what's wrong with you? Did you take the wrong medicine today?"
With Vegeta's arrogant personality, he only trained and cared about nothing else. How could he suddenly worry about her today?
"The child in your belly is mine. You are my woman. Is it that surprising that I worry about my own woman? I, Vegeta, am not some heartless scumbag."
"Eh?"
Although her relationship with Vegeta felt a bit inexplicable.
But it was already a done deal. Anyway, a Saiyan like Vegeta was probably fine, better than that philandering Yamcha.
Bulma blinked, "That's really strange. Yesterday you were ignoring me. Could it be that you're out of money?"
Vegeta's eyelids twitched. He said, "How could I, a mighty Super Saiyan, be out of money? Even if I were to rob the rich to help the poor, I wouldn't be penniless. I came to see you today for something else."
"What is it?"
Bulma put down the book in her hand and pushed the instrument on the table aside.
"Do you know a person named Dr. Gero?"
"Dr. Gero...?"
Bulma was stunned for a moment. "Why do you know that name?"
Vegeta, a guy who spent at least ten out of twenty-four hours a day training in the training room, would know the name of an Earth doctor like that?
"Never mind that... It's about that Super Saiyan who came here a year ago via the time machine."
Vegeta didn't mention Trunks' name.
He wasn't sure if the child in Bulma's belly was Trunks.
If it wasn't, it would be a bit awkward.
"The Androids that brat mentioned are related to Dr. Gero, so I want you to look up information on this person."
Vegeta's explanation made Bulma fall into thought.
"Dr. Gero is a renowned scientist, even more famous than my father. However, Androids that can defeat a Super Saiyan were actually created by him? He's truly an amazing person."
"Since you put it that way, I'll have someone look into it." Seeing Vegeta's face growing darker and darker, Bulma stopped teasing him and picked up the communicator on the table.
Just then, Bulma, with her big belly, suddenly tripped over a table leg.
"Oh dear~"
Vegeta, with a flash, caught Bulma just as she was about to fall.
"Be careful."
Cold sweat broke out on Vegeta's forehead.
This woman…
"I'm a bit clumsy now." After Bulma stood steady, she let out a soft breath and continued to pick up the communicator, starting to make a call.
While connecting to the other party, Bulma glanced at Vegeta behind her.
"So you do care, Vegeta?"
"I..." Vegeta turned his face away. "Although you are a crude woman, the child in your belly is the child of me, the Saiyan Prince."
"Oh~ Is that so?" Bulma deliberately drew out her words.
Vegeta's eyelids twitched, but he pretended not to hear.
Watching Vegeta look like he wanted to bite her, yet with an arrogant expression, Bulma let out a chuckle, then pretended as if nothing had happened.
She had seen the personality of this Saiyan Prince over the past year; he was the type who was stubborn to the core.
Vegeta helped Bulma to the nearby sofa, sat her down, then retreated to the side and said nothing more.
Beep beep beep beep–
Not long after, the communicator connected.
"Vomi, is it convenient for you to talk? I'd like you to help me look into something."
Bulma spoke into the communicator.
"Convenient, what is it, Miss Bulma?"
A female voice came from the communicator, and even through the device, it sounded very pleasant.
"It's like this, help me investigate this person, Dr. Gero."
"Dr.... Dr. Gero."
"What's wrong?"
Bulma heard the voice on the other end seem to falter for a moment.
"No, I'm just curious why Miss Bulma would want to investigate Dr. Gero. He hasn't appeared in public for a long time."
"It's about that time machine, which you also helped repair before."
"That young man from the future?"
"Yes, please help me investigate, Vomi."
"Miss Bulma, I do know some information about Dr. Gero, but it might be a little difficult to explain over the phone."
"Should I come to your place now?"
"Won't it interfere with Dad's work?" Bulma hesitated for a moment.
"It's fine, my time is very flexible, and the doctor won't say anything."
"Then I'll trouble you to come over." Bulma put down the communicator in her hand.
"Vomi will be here soon. Don't let her charm you, she's a very beautiful woman." Bulma warned.
"Hmph, it's not like I haven't seen women before. But, you actually told her about the time machine. Aren't you worried something might go wrong?"
"What can I do? The fuel for that young man's time machine was filled with Vomi's help. Moreover, Vomi's intellect is different from you Saiyan who pour all your intelligence into power."
"She's a scientist no less talented than my father. In my opinion, if not for her being too young, her fame would even surpass my father's and Dr. Gero's."
"That's why I had Dad sell her a portion of the company's shares, to bring her into our Capsule Corporation." Bulma continued to explain to the seemingly dim-witted Vegeta.
"So, all you're saying is that I'm stupid, right?" Vegeta said.
"Hmph, you Earthlings are truly cunning. With a tiny bit of useless shares, you tie a talented person to your company's chariot."
Having traveled to many planets, how could Vegeta be as simple-minded as Kakarot?
From Bulma's words, he already understood what Bulma and her father meant.
Sure enough, people without power just love to resort to such crooked schemes.
