Chapter 89 - Part88:The Battle of Springvale

Descendants of Lü Bu Storm Teyvat! Twin Fiends Massacre Springvale in a Bloodbath

Lü Kehan wields his great blade like a tempest; Lü Bilie's twin halberds slash like the wind. In an instant, Mondstadt's Springvale descends into a living hell. Razor roars into battle, only to be run through by a single stroke. Albedo's alchemy matrix shatters beneath the halberds. Eula swears vengeance, yet is grievously wounded by the brothers' combined assault. Noelle clashes head‑on with her greatsword, only to be sent flying off the cliff. In desperation, Eula grabs Noelle and leaps into the waterfall. Behind them, the Lü brothers' thunderous laughter rings out:

"Tell Teyvat—the descendants of Lü Bu have come!"

The afternoon in Springvale should have been peaceful and lazy. The wind carries the tipsy mist from Cider Lake, mixed with the scent of dried meat and herbs hanging from the townsfolk's homes. Sunlight filters through oak leaves, casting dappled patterns on the stone paths. A few barks, distant children's laughter, and Hopkins' forever‑mysterious muttering weave the ordinary, tranquil melody of this land.

Yet in this moment, all peace is torn asunder.

A shrill clash of metal erupts, like thunder splitting a sweet dream.

Beneath the old oak at the town's entrance, two figures step forth as if from the gates of hell. One is massive as a mountain, his great slab‑like blade tearing through the air with a wail like a specter. Every swing unleashes a savage gale, sending stones and splinters flying—this is Lü Kehan. The other is leaner, yet his movements are crueler and more cunning. A pair of iron halberds dance in his hands like two ravenous dragons, their winds slicing the air to shreds—this is Lü Bilie.

They speak not a word. In their eyes burns only pure, almost joyful destruction. Springvale's calm is brutally crushed. Terrified screams replace the lazy afternoon tune.

"Monsters! They're monsters!" The townsfolk flee in panic.

Razor bursts from the woods. He had been hunting nearby. His red eyes lock onto the source of the carnage at once; wolf's intuition screams of primal danger. Without hesitation, he growls, lightning erupting around him. Like a purple arrow loosed, crackling arcs trailing, he lunges straight for the greatsword‑wielding Lü Kehan.

"Get… out!" he roars. His Sacrificial Greatsword channels thunder, slamming down with full force.

Faced with this lightning‑fast strike, Lü Kehan grins a grim smile. He does not dodge or block. His enormous blade, though seemingly clumsy, moves with chilling lightness in his grip. His wrist flicks, the blade rising in a sharp upward counter—no flair, only absolute power and speed.

Clang!

Deafening metal echoes.

Razor's lightning disperses in one blow against this unbridled force. A crushing, irresistible power surges through him. His palms split open, the Sacrificial Greatsword nearly slips free, and he is sent staggering backward.

A flaw—only for an instant.

Lü Kehan's blade does not pause. Spinning with the upward swing, the blade carves a cold, perfect semicircle, stabbing forward.

Squelch!

The dull sound of metal piercing flesh and bone rings sickeningly clear.

Razor's charge freezes abruptly. He looks down, disbelieving, at the bloodied tip of the enormous blade protruding from his chest. Lightning fades rapidly from his eyes. A wolfish snarl catches in his throat, breaking into a ragged gasp. Lü Kehan twists his wrist and yanks the blade free. Blood gushes like a waterfall. The sturdy, wolf‑boy body slams heavily to the ground, raising a cloud of dust.

"Razor!!" Noelle cries out in horror, her maid's armor clattering as she runs. She grips her massive Favonius Greatsword, shock and grief blazing in her eyes.

At almost the same moment, Albedo stands silently at the edge of the fray. A pristine alchemy array unfolds beneath his feet, radiant light flowing. Geo power condenses in his hands, conjuring a Solar Isotoma that crashes toward Lü Bilie, attempting to trap him.

"Heh. Mere tricks." Lü Bilie smirks. Facing the descending geo construct, he advances instead of retreating. His twin halberds cross, their tips compressed into a piercing edge. "Break!" he snarls. The halberds strike like venomous dragons, piercing the Isotoma's core.

Crack—boom!

The sturdy alchemy creation is punctured and shattered, exploding into a shower of stone dust. Albedo's pupils shrink. He retreats rapidly, hands flashing, summoning more Isotomas and Life–Death Arrays to block the path.

But Lü Bilie is faster. He moves like a wraith through the crumbling rock, ignoring alchemy blasts grazing his body. Twin halberds whirl, shredding everything in their way. In an instant, he closes in on Albedo. The halberd wind slices his blond bangs.

"Outsider sorcerer—this is all you have?" Lü Bilie grins maliciously. His halberds become a deadly cyclone, stabbing downward.

Albedo raises his sword to block. His alchemy matrix blazes in defense. Yet the power within those halberds is terrifying.

Clang! Crack!

His geo shield shatters instantly. Albedo's sword is knocked aside. One halberd pierces his chest unimpeded, slamming him into the ground. The blade sinks deep into the earth. Albedo trembles. Light fades from his aqua eyes. Blood trickles from his lips. His head tilts limply to the side, crimson spreading beneath him.

"Master Albedo!" Noelle's heart shatters.

"Next!" Lü Bilie yanks his halberd free, flicking away a string of blood beads.

A cold, furious shout sweeps the battlefield like a frost current.

"This grudge… I will not forget."

Eula Lawrence arrives like a blue butterfly, yet carries murderous wrath. Song of Broken Pines hums. Bitter ice spreads with her swing. She strikes in rage, her sword a storm, aiming straight for Lü Bilie's back.

"Frostfury Tide!"

Lü Bilie spins hastily, crossing his halberds to block. Boom! Ice shatters. He is pushed back several steps, his feet gouging two deep trenches.

"Big brother, this broad's interesting," Lü Bilie licks his lips, bloodlust flaring.

"Kill her too!" Lü Kehan strides forward, dragging his greatsword, scraping the ground with a screech and sparks.

The brothers exchange a glance, reaching silent understanding. In the next moment, blade and halberds strike as one. Lü Kehan's power is unyielding, each swing splitting stone, forcing Eula to block. Lü Bilie strikes insidiously, his halberds targeting blind spots—stabbing, pecking, hooking, sweeping.

Eula dances her sword to the limit, Song of Broken Pines raising waves of ice, defending and attacking at once. Yet against this perfectly coordinated, hard‑and‑soft combination, she is quickly overwhelmed. Each block numbs her arms. Whenever she tries to counter, Lü Bilie's venomous halberds strike perfectly, forcing her to defend. Her sword rhythm is broken entirely.

"Lady Eula!" Noelle forces back her grief, clutching the Favonius Greatsword with both hands. She shouts and charges, the heavy geo‑infused blade slashing at Lü Kehan, trying to relieve pressure.

"Scram! Brat!" Lü Kehan does not even glance. He swings his blade sideways in a pure display of overwhelming force.

Clang!

Greatsword clashes with greatblade. A deafening roar. Noelle feels an unstoppable terror surge through the weapon. Her entire arm goes numb. The Favonius Greatsword flies from her grasp. She is sent flying like she was hit by a boulder—straight toward the steep cliff outside town.

"Noelle!" Eula's heart lurches violently at the sight.

That single moment of distraction.

Lü Bilie's halberd strikes like a viper, slamming into Eula's sword spine. Eula's chest tightens. Her battle aura nearly collapses. A sweet taste rises in her throat—she spits blood, staining her ice‑blue blade. She staggers back, already at her limit.

At the cliff edge, Noelle scrambles to grab something, but cannot stop her slide. Half her foot hangs over the void. Stones crumble beneath her.

Lü Kehan and Lü Bilie stand side by side, mocking grins like cats toying with mice, stepping closer. Blood of Razor and Albedo still drips from their weapons.

Eula glances at the bottomless cliff, then at the unbeatable foes closing in, then at Noelle, moments from falling. In despair, Lawrence pride and knightly resolve ignite in her eyes as a final flame.

She grits her teeth, expending her last strength, leaping toward the cliff. She hurls Song of Broken Pines. The blade embeds itself in the rock wall, slowing her fall. She reaches out, barely catching Noelle's wrist.

A heavy downward pull tears at them. Song of Broken Pines scrapes the cliff, sparking—clearly unable to hold both.

Lü Kehan and Lü Bilie reach the cliff edge, looking down at the two hanging from the precipice.

Lü Kehan lifts his foot and slams it onto the sword's hilt, loosening it completely.

The last thing Eula sees is two pairs of eyes filled with cruelty and conquest.

Lü Bilie spreads his arms toward the fleeing, broken Springvale, toward the vast world of Teyvat, and lets out a thunderous laugh:

"Tell Teyvat—"

Lü Kehan's voice booms like rolling thunder, joining in. The brothers' voices merge into a calamitous proclamation:

"The descendants of Lü Bu have come!"

Amid the laughter, Eula holds Noelle tightly. Their support gone, they plummet into the roaring waterfall below, swallowed instantly by white foam.

On the cliff above, only the Lü brothers remain… and the lingering stench of blood.
