Chapter 113 - Chapter 113: The Book of the Vishanti!

The Ancient One was a decisive person.

Once she made a decision, she carried it out immediately.

Since she had decided to let Karl take over Kamar-Taj in her stead, she did not hesitate any further.

She directly informed the Master Sorcerers.

What Karl found strange was that not a single one of them objected.

Just like that, he had become the one in charge of Kamar-Taj, and those Master Sorcerers with real authority genuinely had no complaints at all.

It was absurd.

Even if power did not mean much to sorcerers, was everyone really this indifferent about it?

After everything had been settled, Karl escorted the Ancient One out.

She was about to leave Kamar-Taj and travel through the Multiverse.

"Sorcerer Supreme, you're really leaving just like this?"

"Won't you stay a little longer and guide us some more?"

Karl asked.

"My child, trust yourself."

"You will handle all of this well."

The Ancient One patted Karl on the shoulder.

Then she tapped her forehead, as if remembering something.

"Oh, right. Before I leave, there is one last important matter."

She waved her hand.

A flash of golden light passed through the air.

An ancient book with a white cover appeared in her hand.

Then, as casually as if she were tossing away junk, the Ancient One dropped the book into Karl's hands.

"Keep it safe," she said.

"What is this?"

Karl asked in surprise.

"The Book of the Vishanti."

The Ancient One answered lightly.

"What?"

"This is the Book of the Vishanti, the one that records all the white magic in the world?"

Karl blurted out in shock.

Something this precious, and you're just handing it over so casually?

This was the legacy of the great Vishanti.

Even if the white magic recorded within it could only be used for defense and not for attack, it was still powerful enough.

And besides, if those spells could not be used for attack, a few adjustments would solve that easily enough.

If even an ordinary sorcerer obtained it, they would probably transform into an expert almost immediately.

And yet she was just giving something this valuable to him?

A bitter smile appeared on Karl's face.

"You're being far too careless. Something this precious, and you're just handing it to me like that?"

"Careless? How is this careless?"

"In all of Kamar-Taj, is there any place safer than here?"

The Ancient One blinked as she spoke.

Karl thought about it.

And she was right.

With two Skyfather-level beings here, even if Odin clawed his way out of his grave, he probably still would not be able to snatch anything from their hands.

If someone really could take the Book of the Vishanti away from both of them, then nowhere in Kamar-Taj would be able to stop that person anyway.

Karl could only answer helplessly,

"What you said makes sense."

The Ancient One saw his expression and only smiled with easy indifference.

"My child, do not become too attached to such objects."

"Your own strength is the foundation."

"No matter how powerful someone else's path may be, it is still theirs."

"Once you reach the Skyfather level, you must walk your own path."

"No truly powerful path is ever the same as another."

"No matter how precious these things are, they can only serve as references."

"If all you do is learn what is written in them, then you will forever remain bound by convention."

The Ancient One spoke earnestly to Karl.

She had extremely high hopes for him.

[Ding!]

[Detected: the host has listened to Sorcerer Supreme Ancient One's mystical insight. Your super talent's radiance has flared several times behind your back.]

[You have now mastered the Law of Time.]

The system notification rang out.

An indescribably profound sensation surfaced in Karl's mind.

He suddenly felt slightly detached from both himself and the world.

At this moment, Karl was no longer completely within this segment of time. He seemed to have shifted into another point along the timeline.

Such an obvious change was naturally impossible to hide from the Ancient One.

After all, she had spent so much time with the Time Stone.

"The Law of Time..."

The Ancient One gave a bitter smile.

She even felt somewhat powerless inside.

Now, she did not even feel shock anymore.

Only powerlessness. Deep powerlessness.

Why had she handed Kamar-Taj over to Karl?

Why had she even seemed a little impatient to do so?

Because this boy was simply too monstrous.

She wanted to devote herself properly to her own cultivation as well.

Karl really was formidable, and he truly was a genius.

As the only Sorcerer Supreme to have existed on Earth for centuries, she had her own pride too.

Part of her had even wanted to compare herself with Karl.

But now?

He had listened to a few words from her, and instantly mastered a Law?

This had to be a joke.

How was she supposed to compete with something so inhuman?

The Ancient One's composure slipped badly. Her newly changed folding fan cracked in her grip and shattered once again.

Taking a deep breath, she calmed her emotions and began standing guard over Karl, waiting for him to finish his cultivation.

After a minute or two passed, the sense of estrangement from the real world around Karl slowly faded.

The fluctuations of the Law of Time gradually dispersed as well.

Karl came back to himself and spoke gratefully to the Ancient One.

"Thank you, Sorcerer Supreme, for standing guard over me."

"There is no need for such politeness between us."

"Now I can be certain that passing the title of Sorcerer Supreme to you is absolutely the right decision."

"You are stronger than I am."

The Ancient One spoke with complete seriousness.

"I still have many shortcomings."

Karl answered modestly.

"There is no need to belittle yourself."

"I know your strength well."

"Skyfather level, even if one keeps adding qualifications after that..."

"Even those mighty gods are no more than that."

"I believe Kamar-Taj will only grow better and better under your leadership."

"And I, too, should go seek my own path."

The Ancient One looked Karl up and down with satisfaction.

Then she took one more serious look at Kamar-Taj under the night sky. Though she had weathered the passing of countless years, faint starlike glimmers still shone in her eyes.

A ripple of space flashed.

The Ancient One vanished from where she stood.

Karl only had time to wave once.

"The Ancient One truly is the Ancient One. Her brilliance is extraordinary."

"In terms of mastery over space alone, even Thor is probably far inferior."

Karl could not help sighing.

His strength came from his God-Tier Talent.

He had comprehended five Laws in total.

The power of those Laws was like a vast ocean, allowing him to prevail through sheer quantity.

But in terms of depth within any single Law, he was certainly still inferior to a being like the Ancient One, who had lived for centuries.

"But if I'm allowed to cultivate properly for a hundred years..."

"My comprehension of the Laws will definitely be able to match, or even surpass, the Sorcerer Supreme."

"But before that, I need to deal with Kamar-Taj's affairs first."

Karl thought confidently to himself.

In his plans, Kamar-Taj was an extremely important part.
