Chapter 74 - The Breaking Point.

The battle between Kael and the werewolves had reached its pinnacle. Every movement in the fight felt like it could decide the fate of the world. Eryx and Riven were pushed to the brink of their limits, with Kael's demonic form becoming increasingly more uncontrollable and vicious. His twisted, bone-covered body pulsed with the dark energy that had corrupted him, his movements erratic, powerful, and full of fury. But Riven was different now. He was no longer the hesitant, unsure wolf he had been when the battle began. His body was a furnace of Dark Energy, fueled by raw power and will.

Yet, it was not the raw power that Eryx believed would bring Kael down, it was strategy, precision, and control. Kael was growing desperate, reckless even. And desperation, as always, could be exploited.

Eryx observed the shifting tides of the battle. He could see it, the cracks in Kael's once impenetrable resolve. The demon had gone too far into his monstrous form. His focus was slipping, his control fraying at the edges. In that chaos, Eryx knew the key was not outmatching Kael's power, but using his own wits and Riven's will to push him past his limits.

It was time for the plan.

Eryx's golden aura flared around him as he charged forward, his muscles taut and his body coiled like a spring ready to release. He had no intention of taking Kael down with brute strength alone. No, this battle had become about precision about creating the opening that Riven needed.

Kael, consumed by the power that radiated from his demonic core, lunged at Eryx with a roar of fury. The air vibrated with the force of his movements. His bone claws stretched wide, aiming to rip Eryx apart. But Eryx was faster.

As Kael's claws reached for him, Eryx moved with blinding speed, sidestepping the attack and countering with a vicious strike to Kael's ribs. The blow landed with the sound of cracking bone, forcing Kael to stagger back, momentarily off balance.

The opportunity had arrived.

Eryx did not hesitate. With a roar of his own, he unleashed his technique he had kept in reserve for this very moment. His golden aura exploded outward in a brilliant wave of light, the force of it slamming into Kael's dark energy and shaking the very ground beneath them.

Kael staggered, his body twitching from the impact of the Roar. The demon wolf's aura flickered, his once-unstoppable dark power faltering for a split second. It was enough. The vulnerability was there, a crack in the demon's shield. Eryx's eyes narrowed as he seized the moment.

"Now, Riven!" Eryx called out, his voice full of urgency.

Riven, his body alight with Dark Energy, didn't need any further instruction. His mind was razor-sharp, the surge of power inside him bringing clarity to his vision. Every moment of this fight, every inch of energy he had poured into his core, had led to this. He had finally found his focus. Kael, in all his monstrous glory, was no longer an unassailable force. Riven saw the openings now the gaps in his defenses, the signs of fatigue in Kael's erratic movements.

Kael howled in rage, launching himself toward Eryx with renewed desperation. But in his blind fury, the demon had become sloppy. His attacks were wild, each one more unhinged than the last. And it was in this recklessness that Riven saw his chance.

His enhanced speed and strength allowed him to close the distance between himself and Kael with deadly precision. He darted around the demon's wild swings, his focus unwavering. The Dark Energy within him hummed with power, and he moved like a shadow fast, fluid, and deadly.

Kael's claws swiped through the air, but Riven was already behind him. Without a moment's hesitation, Riven slashed his twin blades across Kael's torso. The impact sent a shockwave through the battlefield, the demon's body buckling under the force.

It wasn't a deep cut, not enough to bring Kael down, but it was enough. The pain was enough to distract the demon. Kael staggered back, a snarl escaping his lips as his red eyes locked onto Riven. He was wounded vulnerable but still dangerous.

Eryx, sensing the opening, didn't wait for Kael to recover. His battle-hardened instincts kicked in, and he launched himself toward Kael with unbridled fury.

The Final Move

Eryx's eyes glowed with the intensity of his golden aura, his strength amplified to its peak. He launched a brutal strike aimed at Kael's spine. The force of his blow struck with such precision that the very structure of Kael's skeletal form groaned in protest. His spine cracked audibly as the impact reverberated through his body, the demon's mobility severely compromised.

Kael's head snapped back as the pain shot through him, his red eyes momentarily clouded with shock. He staggered, disoriented. For the first time in the battle, he seemed vulnerable. But Kael wasn't finished yet. His lips curled into a twisted grin, his form still brimming with dark energy.

Riven felt the moment. He could feel the energy surging within him, feeding him. He could feel his twin blades humming with the power of his core, their edges glowing with dark, swirling energy. His eyes narrowed as he took a step forward. This was it the final strike.

He channeled the full extent of his Dark Energy into his blades, feeling the raw power surging through his limbs. His muscles screamed with the effort, but he held it all together. With a roar, he lunged forward, his twin blades aimed straight for Kael's chest.

Time seemed to slow as Riven closed the gap. Kael, still reeling from the impact to his spine, couldn't move in time to avoid the attack. Riven's blades plunged deep into Kael's chest, the energy surrounding them causing a massive surge of power. The shockwave from the impact rippled out, sending rocks and debris flying as Kael's dark energy collided with Riven's own.

For a moment, everything was still.

Kael's body trembled, his breath coming in ragged gasps. His eyes widened in shock as the energy from Riven's blades began to drain the life from him. Riven's blade had cut really deep stabbing through Kael's core. In an instant there's a massive overload of energy from Kael's core that his body begins to crack under the immense power and Kael explodes, the shockwave sending everyone flying.

Riven wakes up the Dark Energy still surging through him, took a step back. His mind teetered on the edge, his sanity slipping as the berserk rage threatened to overtake him. The energy within him was too much too raw, too uncontrollable. He could feel it clawing at his mind, pushing him toward madness.

His eyes glazed over as the rage began to take over. He roared, his claws elongating, his body trembling with the need to destroy.

"Riven!" Eryx shouted, but his voice was lost in the storm of energy that surrounded them. "No, don't let it take you!"

But it was too late. Riven's mind snapped. The berserker within him awakened fully. His senses overloaded, and in an instant, he lunged at Eryx, his twin blades drawn, his body primed for destruction.

In the chaos, Astra appeared, her figure standing firm amidst the whirlwind of power. She had seen this moment coming the moment Riven would lose himself to the Dark Energy. Her voice rang out, clear and commanding.

"Binding Vow!"

With a wave of her staff, glowing runes shot out from the ground, encircling Riven's body. The magic of the Binding Vow clamped down on him, wrapping around his limbs and torso, locking him in place.

Riven snarled, his eyes glowing with fury as the dark energy swirled around him, struggling against the restraints. He thrashed violently, the power within him fighting against the magical chains that held him back.

But Eryx, quick as ever, moved in and struck the back of Riven's neck with the flat of his hand. The blow was precise, knocking Riven unconscious in an instant. His body went limp, collapsing to the ground as the surge of Dark Energy slowly dissipated.

The magic of the Binding Vow remained, keeping Riven's form restrained as the last remnants of the berserk energy left his body. Slowly, his core returned to normal, the purple glow of his eyes fading as his breath evened out.
