Part I:
The dimensional portal opened onto a sight that defied mortal comprehension.
Mount Meru rose impossibly high into the cosmic sky—not a mountain in the traditional sense, but the axis of existence itself. Golden peaks stretched beyond visible reality, each level representing a different plane of cosmic law. Rivers of celestial light flowed upward instead of down. Gardens of divine flowers bloomed in colors that shouldn't exist. And the power—
Even from a distance, the sheer concentration of divine energy was overwhelming.
"Holy shit," Azazel breathed, his usual irreverence temporarily abandoned.
"Language," Grayfia Lucifuge said automatically, though she looked equally awed. The Strongest Queen stood in her perfect maid uniform, silver hair immaculate despite dimensional travel.
Serafall Leviathan—wearing a surprisingly formal diplomatic dress instead of her usual magical girl costume—whistled softly. "And I thought our Underworld was impressive. This is... wow."
Gabriel folded her twelve divine wings, her expression serene but reverent. "Mount Meru. The cosmic axis. I've only been here once before, millennia ago. It's even more magnificent than I remembered."
Freya looked genuinely impressed, which was rare for a Norse goddess. "The Hindu pantheon doesn't mess around. This is a statement of power."
Caelan Lucifuge stood with his arms crossed, Kino perched on his shoulders, her glacial blue eyes wide with wonder.
"Papa! The mountain is SO BIG! How is it so big?! That doesn't make sense!"
"Cosmic metaphysics. The mountain exists partially outside normal space-time."
"What's meta-fizz-icks?"
"I'll explain later."
"Promise?"
"Promise."
The delegation had assembled just before departure:
From Devils:
Serafall Leviathan (Maou, diplomatic specialist)Grayfia Lucifuge (administrative excellence, cultural advisor)
From Angels:
Gabriel (Seraph, symbol of peace and love)Raphael (Seraph, symbol of healing and wisdom)
From Fallen Angels:
Azazel (Governor-General, experienced diplomat/troublemaker)
From Norse:
Freya (Goddess of Love and War, divine authority)
Security and Coordination:
Caelan Lucifuge (coordinator, strategist, deeply regretting his life choices)Kino (his daughter, chaos incarnate)
They'd decided to keep the delegation smaller for the Hindu pantheon specifically—too many representatives might seem like a show of force rather than diplomatic outreach.
"Remember," Caelan said, reviewing his notes one last time, "the Hindu pantheon operates on different principles than we do. Concepts of time, power, and cosmic law are fundamental to their worldview. Be respectful. Be humble. And for the love of all that's holy—"
He looked directly at Kino.
"—don't touch anything without asking."
"I won't!"
"Don't wander off."
"I won't!"
"Don't insult any gods."
"I won't!"
"Don't accidentally start a war."
"...I'll try?"
"That's not reassuring."
"Papa worries too much!"
A figure materialized before them—a divine messenger in golden robes, radiating power that made even Gabriel seem dim by comparison.
"Greetings, honored guests," the messenger said in perfect English, though his lips didn't quite match the words—divine translation at work. "I am Narada, sage and messenger of the Devas. Lord Indra, King of the Devas, has granted you audience. Please, follow me."
He gestured toward a golden pathway that materialized in the air, leading upward toward the mountain's impossible peaks.
"Here we go," Azazel muttered. "Try not to die, everyone."
"That's not helpful," Raphael said.
"Wasn't trying to be helpful. Just realistic."
They began ascending.
Part II:
The pathway led them through seven distinct levels of Mount Meru, each more breathtaking than the last:
First Level - Bhurloka: Gardens of earthly beauty, where mortal souls of great virtue resided.
Second Level - Bhuvarloka: Realm of atmospheric spirits and lesser deities.
Third Level - Svarloka: Where the minor Devas dwelled in splendor.
Fourth Level - Maharloka: Realm of great sages and enlightened beings.
Fifth Level - Janaloka: Where those who had transcended mortal desire lived in meditation.
Sixth Level - Tapoloka: Realm of pure divine energy and cosmic law.
And finally, Seventh Level - Satyaloka: The pinnacle, where the greatest gods resided.
The throne room of Indra was vast beyond comprehension. Pillars of solid gold stretched into infinity. The floor was made of crystallized starlight. Divine weapons lined the walls—the thunderbolt Vajra, various astras (divine weapons), and artifacts of unimaginable power.
And seated on the central throne, radiating authority and martial prowess, was Indra himself.
He was magnificent. Tall, powerfully built, wearing golden armor that seemed to be made of solidified thunder. His skin had a faint blue tint, his eyes crackled with lightning, and his presence made the air vibrate with barely contained violence. Four arms, each holding symbols of power: the Vajra thunderbolt, a bow, a lotus, and a conch shell.
Around him stood the divine court:
Agni, the fire god—wreathed in eternal flames, riding a ram.
Vayu, the wind god—barely visible, more presence than form.
Varuna, the ocean god—ancient, wise, carrying a noose of cosmic law.
Yama, the god of death—dark, solemn, carrying his staff of judgment.
Kubera, god of wealth—rotund, jovial, literally dripping with gold.
And standing near the throne, radiating feminine divine power, was Indrani—Indra's consort, goddess of beauty, wrath, and jealousy. She wore a sari of divine silk, her eyes sharp as she assessed the visitors.
"Welcome," Indra's voice boomed like thunder, "to Svargaloka, the realm of the Devas. I am Indra, King of Heaven, Lord of Thunder, Destroyer of Vritra the Serpent, Victor of a Thousand Battles."
He paused.
"You may introduce yourselves."
Serafall stepped forward, bowing respectfully—not subserviently, but acknowledging equal power. "I am Serafall Leviathan, one of the Four Great Satans of the Underworld. On behalf of the Devil faction, I thank you for granting us audience, Lord Indra."
Gabriel followed, her divine wings creating a gentle glow. "Gabriel, Seraph of Heaven, representing the Angel faction. We are honored by your hospitality, Great Indra."
Azazel gave a casual salute. "Azazel, Governor of the Fallen Angels. Thanks for having us."
Freya bowed her head slightly, goddess to god. "Freya, of the Aesir. Greetings, Storm Lord."
Grayfia bowed precisely. "Grayfia Lucifuge, Strongest Queen of the Underworld. We appreciate your time."
Raphael bowed with wings folded. "Raphael, Seraph of Healing. Peace be with you, Lord of Devas."
Then Indra's eyes fell on Caelan.
And narrowed.
"And you are?"
"Caelan Lucifuge. Coordinator and security for this delegation."
"A Lucifuge." Indra's expression was unreadable. "Your clan's reputation precedes you. Absolute loyalty. Perfect service. The shadows behind the Lucifer throne."
"We prefer 'exceptionally reliable,'" Caelan said flatly.
"And the child?"
Kino waved enthusiastically from Caelan's shoulders. "HI! I'm Kino! That's a really cool thunderbolt! Can I touch it?!"
"KINO!" Caelan hissed.
The entire divine court went silent.
You didn't ask to touch Indra's Vajra.
That was like asking to pet someone's nuclear weapon.
Indra stared at the four-year-old girl.
Then—
He laughed.
Deep, booming, genuinely amused laughter that made the pillars shake.
"She has courage! I like that!" He gestured, and Kino floated gently from Caelan's shoulders to hover before the throne. "Tell me, small one—do you know what the Vajra is?"
"It's a super powerful thunderbolt weapon that can destroy demons and break mountains!" Kino recited excitedly. "Papa told me stories! You used it to defeat the dragon Vritra who was blocking all the water and then you freed the rivers and became King!"
Indra's expression shifted to surprise. "Your father taught you our legends?"
"Papa teaches me LOTS of things! He says knowledge is power and I should learn about everyone!"
"Wise words." Indra looked at Caelan with newfound respect. "You teach your daughter about pantheons outside your own?"
"I teach her about everything," Caelan said carefully. "Knowledge should not be limited by faction or prejudice."
"More wisdom." Indra set Kino gently back on Caelan's shoulders. "I begin to understand why you were chosen for this delegation."
Indrani leaned forward, her eyes assessing Kino with interest. "The child is unusual. Half-devil, half-dragon, but also... something else. Ancient ice magic. The touch of Cocytus itself."
"She's a manifestation," Caelan said, protective instinct flaring. "A guardian spirit who took physical form."
"Fascinating." Yama's voice was like the grave itself. "A being who sacrificed immortal existence for mortal life. That is a karma of profound weight."
"Can we please get to the diplomatic part?" Azazel asked. "Before someone accidentally starts a theological debate?"
"Agreed," Serafall said. "Lord Indra, we've come to discuss a matter of grave importance to all pantheons."
"The Khaos Brigade," Indra said. It wasn't a question.
"You know of them?"
"We know of everything that threatens cosmic order." He gestured, and divine servants brought cushioned seats for the guests. "Sit. We will talk."
Part III:
They settled into a more informal arrangement—still clearly Indra's domain, but less intimidatingly formal.
Agni offered divine refreshments—amrut (nectar of the gods) diluted for non-Hindu consumption, and various celestial fruits.
Kino immediately tried everything.
"Papa! This one tastes like starlight!"
"That's probably literal starlight. Don't eat too much."
"But it's SO GOOD!"
Gabriel smiled warmly at the sight. Freya looked amused. Azazel was already three drinks in.
Serafall began the formal presentation. "Lord Indra, honored Devas—the Khaos Brigade has escalated from isolated incidents to direct attacks on sanctioned events. They seek to destabilize not just our factions, but cosmic order itself."
"They oppose the alliance between Biblical factions and Norse," Grayfia added. "But their ideology extends further. They oppose any cooperation between pantheons."
"They want to return to the age of endless war," Gabriel said softly. "Where every faction fought every other faction for dominance."
Indra's expression darkened. "The Age of War nearly destroyed all of creation. The Great War between your Biblical factions left scars on reality itself. And they wish to resume this?"
"Worse," Raphael said. "They wish to expand it. To draw every pantheon into conflict."
"Madness," Varuna rumbled. "Such conflict would violate dharma itself. The cosmic order would collapse."
"Which is why we're here," Azazel said, surprisingly serious. "We need a coalition. All major pantheons united against this threat."
"You ask much," Indra observed. "The Hindu pantheon has remained neutral in foreign conflicts since time immemorial. We govern our own realm, maintain cosmic law, and do not interfere with others."
"And if the Khaos Brigade attacks your realm?" Freya asked. "Will neutrality protect you?"
"We are the strongest pantheon," Indrani said, pride evident. "Who would dare?"
"Fanatics don't care about strength," Caelan said quietly. "They care about ideology. And their ideology says that cooperation between pantheons is weakness. You've maintained neutrality—which makes you a target, not a protected party."
Yama looked at him with those death-dark eyes. "You understand the nature of zealotry."
"I've lived with being underestimated my entire life. I know how people who feel wronged think. And the Khaos Brigade feels wronged by the entire cosmic order. They'll attack anyone they see as part of the 'problem.'"
Silence.
Then a voice spoke from everywhere and nowhere:
"The child speaks truth."
The air shifted.
Reality itself seemed to bend.
And three figures materialized in the throne room—figures that made even Indra bow his head in respect.
Part IV:
The entire delegation immediately felt the difference.
This wasn't just divine power.
This was cosmic authority.
Brahma, the Creator, appeared first. Four heads, each facing a cardinal direction. Four arms holding the Vedas (sacred texts), a water pot, a rosary, and a lotus. His presence felt like potential itself—the moment before creation, infinite possibility waiting to become reality.
Vishnu, the Preserver, materialized second. Blue skin, four arms holding a conch, discus, mace, and lotus. His presence was stability—the force that held reality together, that maintained the cosmic order against entropy. His eyes were ancient beyond measure, holding the weight of countless cycles of existence.
Shiva, the Destroyer, appeared last. Ash-smeared skin, third eye closed, crescent moon in his hair, serpent around his neck, trident in hand. His presence was transformation—not destruction as ending, but as necessary change. The force that cleared away the old to make room for the new.
The Trimurti. The Trinity. The three aspects of ultimate divine reality.
Even Gabriel, a Seraph of the Biblical God, bowed her head in respect.
Freya, goddess of two pantheons, knelt.
Serafall and Grayfia bowed deeply.
Azazel, who bowed to no one, inclined his head.
Raphael folded his wings in submission.
Caelan bowed, pulling Kino down from his shoulders to do the same.
"The little one need not bow," Vishnu said, his voice like the fundamental vibration of existence. "Innocence is always welcome in our presence."
Kino peeked up. "Are you the really, REALLY important gods?"
"We are the Trimurti," Brahma said, his four heads speaking in harmony. "Creator, Preserver, and Destroyer. The cycle of existence given form."
"That's SO COOL!" Kino's eyes went wide. "Papa! They're the COOLEST gods ever!"
"Kino, please—"
"She honors us with her honesty," Shiva said, and there might have been amusement in that cosmic voice. "Children speak truth. We appreciate truth."
The Trimurti settled into existence—not sitting, not standing, just being in a way that mortal minds struggled to comprehend.
"We have heard your petition," Vishnu said. "The Khaos Brigade threatens the cosmic order. This concerns us."
"Dharma must be maintained," Brahma added. "The righteous order of existence cannot be allowed to collapse into chaos."
"But intervention has consequences," Shiva said. "Every action creates karma. Every choice shapes future cycles."
"We understand," Gabriel said respectfully. "We do not ask lightly. But the alternative—"
"—is war that consumes all pantheons," Vishnu finished. "Yes. We have foreseen this possibility."
"You've... foreseen it?" Serafall asked carefully.
"We exist partially outside time," Brahma explained. "We see possibilities. Probabilities. The many paths the future might take."
"And in most paths where the Hindu pantheon remains neutral," Shiva said, "the Khaos Brigade eventually attacks us. Directly. With stolen weapons and corrupted divine artifacts. The casualties would be... significant."
"So you're saying—" Azazel started.
"We are saying that maintaining dharma requires action," Vishnu said. "Neutrality is not always righteousness. Sometimes, the preservation of cosmic order demands intervention."
Indra spoke up, hope in his voice. "Then the Trimurti agrees? We should join this coalition?"
The three aspects of godhood looked at each other.
Then Vishnu spoke: "We agree. But we have conditions."
"Name them," Grayfia said.
Part V:
Brahma's four heads spoke in sequence:
"First: Any coalition involving the Hindu pantheon must respect the concept of dharma. We will not participate in actions that violate cosmic law."
"Second: We require representation in decision-making. The Hindu pantheon is the strongest pantheon—our voice must carry appropriate weight."
"Third: We will contribute forces, but they will be commanded by our own generals. We do not submit to foreign military authority."
"Fourth: This coalition must have a clear purpose and dissolution clause. We will not be bound in perpetuity to foreign conflicts."
Serafall looked at Grayfia, who nodded subtly—these terms were reasonable.
"On behalf of the Devil faction, I agree to these terms," Serafall said.
"The Angel faction agrees," Gabriel added.
"Fallen Angels agree," Azazel said.
"Norse agree," Freya said.
Vishnu's eyes gleamed. "Then we have accord. But there is one more matter."
"What matter?" Caelan asked.
"A formal summit. All participating pantheons gathered in one place to establish this coalition properly." Vishnu looked directly at Serafall. "We propose the Underworld as neutral ground—you have the infrastructure, and your territory is accessible to all factions."
"We'd be honored to host," Serafall said immediately.
"Two months from now," Brahma said. "That gives time for all pantheons to prepare. We will send word to the Shinto, Chinese, Egyptian, and Greek pantheons. If your delegation visits them as planned, they will be expecting our message."
"You're... coordinating with them already?" Raphael asked.
"We exist partially outside time," Shiva repeated. "We have already spoken to them. Will speak to them. Are speaking to them. Linear causality is for mortals."
"That's terrifying," Azazel muttered.
"That's divine," Brahma corrected.
"Same thing," Azazel muttered even quieter.
Part VI:
After the formal agreements were settled, the atmosphere relaxed slightly.
Indrani approached Kino with interest. "Child, you radiate ice magic. Strong ice magic. Would you like to see something?"
"YES!"
The goddess gestured, and a small display of divine power manifested—ice sculptures, but made of frozen divine energy instead of water. They glowed with inner light.
Kino's eyes went huge. "THAT'S AMAZING! Can you teach me?!"
"You have the potential," Indrani said, genuinely impressed. "Your ice magic has a... purity to it. Untainted by corruption. Rare."
"Papa taught me!"
"Your father teaches you well."
Caelan found himself approached by Yama, the god of death.
"Caelan Lucifuge," the death god said. "You carry interesting karma."
"Is that good or bad?"
"Neither. Karma is neither good nor evil—it simply is. Action and consequence." Yama's staff tapped the ground. "You have accumulated the karma of isolation, of being forgotten. Yet you also accumulate karma of creation—you built an empire from nothing. Of protection—you saved many during the tournament. Of teaching—you trained others when you could have remained alone."
"What does that mean?"
"It means your soul's path is in flux. You stand at a crossroads." Yama's eyes seemed to see through him. "One path leads to continued isolation and eventual emptiness. The other leads to connection, family, and eventual transcendence. The choice is yours."
"That's not ominous at all," Caelan said dryly.
"Truth rarely is."
Meanwhile, Gabriel found herself in discussion with Vishnu about the nature of divine love and compassion. Freya was comparing war strategies with Indra. Azazel was getting drunk with Kubera and discussing wealth management, of all things. Serafall and Grayfia were receiving a tour of the divine administrative systems from Varuna.
And Kino was having the time of her life.
"—and then Papa froze a WHOLE BUILDING!" she was telling Indrani. "Just POOF! All ice! It was SO cool!"
"Your father sounds formidable."
"He's the BEST Papa! Even though he says he doesn't smile, he smiles ALL THE TIME when he thinks I'm not looking!"
"Does he now?"
"And the pretty angel lady and pretty goddess lady both want to be my Mama!"
Indrani's eyebrows rose. "Both of them?"
"Yeah! They're competing! It's very dramatic! Papa gets all flustered and his eye twitches!"
"I see."
Caelan, overhearing this from across the room, wanted to die.
Gabriel and Freya, also overhearing, smiled innocently.
Part VII:
As the delegation prepared to depart, Vishnu approached Caelan directly.
"Caelan Lucifuge. You who coordinate this alliance. You who protect despite your own isolation. I would offer you a blessing."
"I... don't need a blessing, Lord Vishnu."
"Not need. But deserve." The Preserver's hand touched Caelan's forehead.
Power flooded through him—not destructive, not overwhelming, but stabilizing. Like reality itself was settling into place around him.
"I bless you with dharma," Vishnu said. "The clarity to see righteous action. The strength to maintain cosmic order. The wisdom to know when to act and when to wait."
The blessing settled into his soul like a foundation being poured.
"I also bless your daughter," Vishnu added, touching Kino's forehead. "With satya—truth. May she always see clearly, speak honestly, and live authentically."
Kino giggled as the blessing took effect. "That tickles!"
"And finally," Vishnu said, looking between Caelan, Gabriel, and Freya, "I bless all three of you with understanding. Your paths are entangled. Accept this, and find peace."
He stepped back.
The Trimurti began to fade.
"We will see you at the summit," Brahma said.
"Two months," Shiva confirmed.
"Maintain dharma," Vishnu finished.
And they were gone.
Part VIII:
As the delegation prepared to leave Mount Meru, Indra personally saw them off.
"You have the support of the Hindu pantheon," he said formally. "When the summit convenes, we will be there. And when the Khaos Brigade threatens cosmic order, we will stand with you."
"Thank you, Lord Indra," Serafall said, bowing.
"One warning," Indra added, looking at Caelan specifically. "The path ahead will test you. Not just your strength, but your heart. Do not let isolation become your dharma. Connection is also righteousness."
"Everyone keeps telling me that," Caelan muttered.
"Because it is true."
They departed through the dimensional portal, leaving Mount Meru behind.
As they traveled back toward the Underworld for debriefing before the next visit, Kino fell asleep on Caelan's shoulder, exhausted from the divine energies.
"That went better than expected," Azazel said.
"The Trimurti's support is massive," Grayfia agreed. "The strongest pantheon on our side changes everything."
"Four more pantheons to visit," Serafall said. "But if they're even half as successful..."
"We might actually pull this off," Raphael finished.
Gabriel floated closer to Caelan. "Lord Vishnu's blessing was interesting."
"Very interesting," Freya agreed from his other side.
"He blessed us with understanding," Gabriel continued.
"Said our paths are entangled," Freya added.
"I'm ignoring both of you," Caelan said.
"That's not very dharmic~" they said in unison.
Caelan looked at the sky and prayed for patience.
This diplomatic tour was going to be the longest month of his life.
