Cherreads

Chapter 37 - Chapter 37: The Meteor's Interruption and the Flame Forged Duel

The atmosphere inside the grand central stadium on the planet Anipla was electric, buzzing with an almost tangible static charge that made the hair on the back of the spectators' necks stand on end. Massive holographic banners floated high above the stadium tiers, snapping gently in the artificial currents generated by the arena's atmospheric regulation system. Golden light radiated from the central display board, writing out the matchup parameters in bold, shimmering runes that could be seen from even the highest seats in the spectator galleries.

GROUP 5 — MATCH 10

The cheering of the crowd swelled into a thunderous roar as the gates opened on both sides of the arena floor. The stone tiles of the ring, heavily reinforced with dense mineral weaves to withstand high-tier Urja impacts, glistened beneath the harsh spotlighting.

Stepping out from the western gateway was Lam. He walked onto the stage with an air of relaxed confidence, his steps rhythmic and steady. His eyes swept casually over the massive arena, taking in the scale of the audience without a single trace of intimidation. Lam was a fighter whose versatility in Urja manipulation was legendary, capable of seamlessly weaving together different elemental categories to outmaneuver any opponent standing in his way.

From the eastern gateway stepped his opponent. Though only ten years old, Ridwan moved with the sharp, aggressive posture of a seasoned combatant. In his right hand, he gripped a specialized weapon that drew immediate whispers from the veteran observers in the crowd—a -x tier Spear. The shaft of the spear was forged from a dark, heat-absorbing alloy, while its blade shimmered with a faint, dangerous crimson hue, indicating its rare classification and immense kinetic sharpness. Ridwan was known throughout his division for his absolute mastery over Fire and Thermal Type Urja, channeling intense heat through his spear to melt through defensive barriers.

The two fighters walked toward the center ring, stopping a few paces apart as the referee positioned himself on the elevated platform nearby.

Lam looked at the young boy holding the -x tier weapon, a playful grin spreading across his face.

"Oh Laddu," Lam said casually, using the silly nickname with an amused chuckle.

Ridwan's eyebrows furrowed immediately, his grip tightening around the dark shaft of his spear as he glared up at Lam. "I am Ridwan, not Laddu," Ridwan snapped, his youthful voice brimming with immediate annoyance.

Lam chuckled again, waving his hand in a dismissive gesture. "Ah! I know you're Ridwan."

Far away from the tournament grounds of Anipla, deep in the boundless expanse of space, floated the hyper-dense star known across the galaxy as Colex-5411025.

Colex-5411025 was not a normal celestial body. It was a terrifying, hyper-thermal Red Star that blazed at a constant surface temperature of 54,110,025 degrees Celsius. The nuclear pressure surrounding the star was enough to vaporize standard starships into raw atomic dust in a fraction of a millisecond. Prominences of hyper-heated plasma arced thousands of miles into the void, twisting like fiery serpents against the pitch-black backdrop of space.

And yet, lying casually upon the boiling, liquid-fire surface of Colex-5411025 as if it were a soft meadow, was the Five-Armed Man.

He rested his massive, muscular back against the 54,110,025 degree plasma, completely unaffected by the apocalyptic temperatures. His five eyes and keen ears were tuned directly to the cosmic vibrations of the universe. Even across millions of miles, his cosmic sensory capabilities allowed him to observe and hear everything taking place on the stage of Anipla below with absolute clarity.

At that moment, three of his five eyes—his third, fourth, and middle fifth eye—were covered by thick, black eyepatches tied securely around his head. Only his first two eyes remained uncovered, gazing lazily into the cosmos.

Suddenly, the words spoken down in the arena reverberated through the solar winds of Colex-5411025. The name echoed in his ears: Ridwan.

The Five-Armed Man froze. The relaxed expression on his face instantly vanished, replaced by a sharp, intense glare. He sat up abruptly on the surface of the burning red star, sending waves of fifty-four-million-degree plasma splashing around his waist.

"Wait a minute... who he is?" the Five-Armed Man muttered aloud, his voice rumbling like thunder across the stellar atmosphere.

He didn't waste a single second.

Coiling the immense, cosmic physical strength in his legs, the Five-Armed Man pushed off the boiling surface of Colex-5411025. The sheer force of his jump caused the massive red star to recoil in its orbit, unleashing a gargantuan solar flare into the surrounding space. The Five-Armed Man rocketed through the vacuum of space, cutting through the void like a catastrophic, crimson meteor, leaving a blazing tail of re-entry heat and pure kinetic momentum behind him as he descended straight toward the planet Anipla!

Back in the stadium on Anipla, oblivious to the cosmic entity speeding toward them from the heavens, Lam and Ridwan completed the pre-match sportsmanship ritual. They stepped forward, shook hands firmly at the center of the ring, and then turned to walk back to their respective starting positions.

The central orb hanging above the arena floor began to glow, shifting from yellow toward the starting signal.

"Fighters, prepare yourselves!" the referee announced, raising his hand high into the air. "Group 5, Match 10 will begin in three... two..."

Before the countdown could finish, the sky above Anipla suddenly turned blood-red.

A sonic boom of atmospheric disruption shattered the protective sound barriers around the stadium. Spectators screamed in panic as a blinding, fiery streak tore through the clouds, descending with terrifying speed directly toward the center ring.

KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The impact was absolute. A violent shockwave tore across the arena floor, shattering the reinforced stone tiles into millions of floating dust particles and creating a massive crater directly between Lam and Ridwan. The sheer force of the landing blew both fighters back a few paces, their clothes whipping wildly in the hurricane-force winds created by the collision. A dense, suffocating cloud of smoke, ash, and burning plasma filled the center of the stage.

As the dust slowly settled, the audience gasped in sheer terror and awe.

It was not a meteor. Standing in the center of the crater was an entity that defied normal comprehension.

It was the Five-Armed Man.

His physical structure was terrifyingly unique. He possessed five distinct, heavily built arms. One massive arm was positioned directly in the center of his upper back—a limb that hummed with a dense, primordial physical pressure, clearly marked as the strongest and most destructive among all five.

In his lower two hands, he held two iconic spiked plungers—the exact signature spiked plungers of Plunger Cameraman from the Skibidi franchise, fitted with sharp, dangerous metallic spikes along their suction caps. In his upper left hand, he gripped a menacing, five-headed red trident that radiated waves of pure heat. In his upper right hand, he held a dark red drum attached to ten miniature floating orbs—five on one side, five on the other—connected directly to the wooden frame of the drum by ten woven ropes.

He wore no shirt, exposing a torso covered in rugged muscle and ancient combat scars. Around his waist were long, sleeve-like black pants that flared out near his ankles, held together by a thick rope belt.

Floating in a slow, hypnotic orbit around his body were five vibrant elemental orbs, each glowing with an intense color: Red, Black, Purple, Green, and Blue.

His face was even more extraordinary. Across his forehead and brow were five distinct eye sockets. As he had set them before jumping, his third, fourth, and middle fifth eyes were covered by dark, secure eyepatches. But his first two eyes were fully visible, radiating an aura of terrifying cosmic authority.

His first eye was a mesmerizing orb composed of dark purple hue, marked by a series of concentric, ripple-like rings spreading outward from a pitch-black central pupil. His second eye was an orb of pure annihilation—a pitch-black abyss laced with glowing, jagged crimson veins that looked like cracking structural fire, threatening to destroy anything it locked onto.

The entire stadium of tens of thousands of people fell into dead, absolute silence. No one dared to breathe. The referee stood frozen, his hand still raised in the air, trembling violently under the overwhelming presence of the intruder.

The Five-Armed Man turned his head slightly, his first two eyes locking directly onto the ten-year-old boy holding the -x tier spear.

"Ah... you're Ridwan?" he asked, his deep voice carrying an unnatural reverberation that rattled the stone walls of the arena.

Ridwan, though visibly sweating under the pressure of the entity standing before him, held his ground. He swallowed hard and nodded his head. "Yes."

The Five-Armed Man narrowed his eyes, stepping closer to the boy. "Are you a supreme G. O. D?" he asked once again, his tone completely serious.

Ridwan didn't hesitate. He looked up at the five-armed juggernaut and directly answered: "No."

The Five-Armed Man paused for a second. The intense, destructive aura surrounding his body suddenly relaxed. He let out a small sigh, scratching the back of his neck with the massive arm mounted on his back.

"Ok, thanks," he said simply.

He looked around at the stadium on Anipla. Tens of thousands of spectators, along with the tournament officials, commentators, and fighters, were staring at him with wide, unblinking eyes, completely dumbfounded by what was happening.

Recognizing the awkward silence, the Five-Armed Man waved one of his lower hands—the one holding a Plunger Cameraman spiked plunger—dismissively toward the crowd.

"Ah, forget that someone so strong who has 5 arms, 5 eyes came. Just forget it and continue the fight," he said nonchalantly.

Without waiting for a response, the Five-Armed Man bent his knees and leaped upward.

BOOM!

A second shockwave blew through the stadium as he launched himself back into the sky, tearing through the atmosphere of Anipla and exiting the planet in a fraction of a second. Within moments, his energy signature vanished completely as he crossed space, landing back down upon the 54,110,025 degree surface of Colex-5411025.

Silence hung over the arena for several long seconds. Dust particles drifted lazily in the sunlight where the massive crater now sat.

Lam cleared his throat, dusting off his clothes and rolling his shoulders to break the shock. He looked across the crater at Ridwan, who was still holding his -x tier spear, trying to process what had just occurred.

"Ok... let's fight," Lam said smoothly, stepping up to the edge of the crater.

Ridwan snapped back to reality, adjusting his stance and pointing the sharp, dark tip of his spear toward Lam. "Right!"

The referee snapped out of his trance, hurriedly blowing his whistle and sweeping his arm down: "GROUP 5, MATCH 10 — BEGIN!"

The fight finally started!

Lam acted first. Tapping into his internal Urja reservoir, he channeled a stream of elemental power into his lungs and throat, stepping forward with his left leg as he unleashed his opening strike.

"Flamethrower!" Lam bellowed, opening his mouth.

A roaring torrent of bright orange, Thermal Type fire erupted from Lam, transforming into a thick column of intense heat that surged directly toward Ridwan. The temperature of the arena floor spiked instantly, cracking the stone beneath the flame path.

Ridwan smirked as he watched the fire approach. "Ah, a normal fire attack!" he called out.

Spurting his own Thermal Urja into his -x tier spear, Ridwan spun the weapon in a rapid, helicopter-like motion in front of his body. The spinning crimson tip carved through the air, generating a concentrated heat-shield that split Lam's Flamethrower right down the middle, sending the diverted flames harmlessly splashing against the barrier walls behind him.

While Ridwan was occupied deflecting the stream of fire, Lam's mind was already three steps ahead.

['Ah, I should plant 10 cannons around him,'] Lam thought to himself, his eyes calculating the spatial distance between Ridwan and the surrounding ring.

Without breaking his flow, Lam activated a fast-casting Solid and Electro-Magnetic compound technique. With a subtle flick of his wrists, ten heavy, metallic cannon barrels materialized from the ground in a perfect circle surrounding Ridwan, their dark muzzles locked squarely on the young boy.

"Boom!" Lam ordered with a smirk.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

All ten cannons fired simultaneously! A barrage of explosive kinetic shells collapsed inward toward Ridwan from every single angle, leaving him with virtually no room to breathe.

"Tch!" Ridwan gritted his teeth.

Relying on his incredible agility and small frame, Ridwan executed a series of high-speed flips and ducking maneuvers, his boots blurring across the stone floor. He leapt, twisted, and slid under the converging shells. Explosions detonated all around him, kicking up plumes of fire and flying stone, but Ridwan somehow dodged the full impact of the volley, escaping the ring of cannons with only minor scuffs on his armor.

Landing on his feet, Ridwan didn't waste a second. He gripped his spear with both hands and began tapping into his core technique.

"Fiery Dance!" Ridwan shouted.

Intense, swirling ribbons of Thermal Type energy wrapped around Ridwan's ankles, legs, and the length of his spear. His body began to glow with a rhythmic, pulsing heat. The technique instantly boosted his physical acceleration and agility to maximum levels. He moved across the battlefield like a streak of wild brushfire, his footsteps leaving burning footprints on the arena floor.

Lam watched the boy approach at blistering speed, remaining completely unfazed. "Don't matter," Lam muttered calmly.

Ridwan leaped high into the air above Lam, channeling all the momentum from his speed boost into the tip of his weapon. The -x tier spear glowed with a blinding, incandescent white heat as he thrust it downward.

"Ultra Flaming Blast!" Ridwan roared from above.

A colossal wave of super-heated plasma erupted from the spear, shaping itself into a roaring dragon of pure Thermal energy that swooped down toward Lam with devastating kinetic force. The sheer temperature threatened to melt the very floor beneath Lam's feet.

Lam reacted with fluid, effortless precision. Extending his left hand, he tapped into his Light Type reserve.

"Light Sword!" Lam declared.

Glittering, high-density photons condensed rapidly into his left hand, shaping into a brilliant, razor-sharp blade of pure, solidified light. Holding the Light Sword firmly in his left grip, Lam simultaneously raised his right hand toward the descending fire dragon, tapping into his Liquid Type energy.

"Hydro Pulse!" Lam shouted.

A massive sphere of highly compressed, pressurized water materialized in front of Lam's right palm and exploded upward into a powerful, swirling hydro-cannon blast!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The two massive elemental attacks collided directly in mid-air!

Ridwan's Ultra Flaming Blast was inherently higher in raw temperature and destructive heat, but Lam compensated instantly by pouring a far massive quantity of raw Urja into his Hydro Pulse. The sheer volume of pressurized water pushed against the intense heat, creating an absolute standstill in mid-air.

The thermal shock between boiling fire and freezing water triggered a violent energetic reaction!

KABOOM!

A massive, blinding explosion rocked the center of the arena. A colossal wall of scalding white steam and smoke expanded rapidly outward, completely obscuring both fighters from the audience's view.

Before the steam could even begin to clear, a sharp beam of golden illumination cut through the haze.

Out of the thick smoke, Lam surged forward, his left hand gripping the glowing Light Sword! He executed a lightning-fast diagonal slash aimed directly at Ridwan's chest!

CLANG!

Ridwan's reflexes were razor-sharp. Bringing his -x tier spear across his body, he used the dark alloy shaft to block the glowing light blade just inches from his face! Sparks of pure kinetic light and fire showered between them as their weapons locked together.

What followed was a brutal, blood-gushing melee encounter—a high-stakes duel of Sword versus Spear!

Lam pressed the advantage with his Light Sword, thrusting, parrying, and slashing with rapid fluid motions. Ridwan countered with fierce martial precision, using the superior reach of his -x tier spear to keep Lam from closing in completely. The dark tip of the spear whipped through the air, carving fiery arcs, while Lam's light blade parried every strike with ringing metallic impacts.

CLANG! SLASH! THWRACK! CLANG!

As the high-speed clash continued, both fighters began to sustain injuries. The sheer kinetic pressure of their weapon clashes threw off razor-sharp energy splinters. A sharp nick from Ridwan's spear sliced across Lam's shoulder, drawing a streak of blood that stained his clothes. Simultaneously, Lam's light blade grazed Ridwan's cheek and forearm, leaving shallow cuts that trickled crimson onto his gauntlets.

Blood dripped onto the stone tiles beneath them as they traded over fifty strikes in a matter of seconds, neither willing to yield an inch of ground. The duel was turning into a long, drawn-out battle of endurance.

Lam parried another heavy spear thrust from Ridwan, feeling the strain in his wrists.

['Ah, this will just take time,'] Lam thought to himself mid-clash as he ducked under a sweeping strike from the boy. ['I have to end it fast, so what should I do?']

While continuously deflecting Ridwan's relentless spear thrusts, Lam's sharp eyes scanned the immediate surroundings of the arena floor, taking note of the terrain, the crater positioning, and the distance to the ring boundaries.

A clever smile flickered across his lips. ['Got it!']

Deciding his next move instantly, Lam summoned his Solid Type Urja with a subtle mental command. Two massive, thick stone pillars materialized out of the ground directly behind his back.

Lam intentionally backed himself up against the two pillars, making it appear as though he was being pushed into a corner by Ridwan's relentless assault.

Ridwan, seeing his opponent back against the structures, grinned triumphantly. "Got you now, Lam!" Ridwan shouted, charging forward with his spear leveled for a full-power thrust.

Just as Ridwan reached full speed and thrust his spear forward, Lam acted!

Using the kinetic momentum of his legs, Lam launched himself straight up into the air, leaping cleanly over Ridwan's head!

Mid-air, suspended directly above the young boy, Lam pointed two fingers down at the pillars and shouted: "Block!"

The two massive stone pillars behind him instantly shifted and slammed together, expanding into a curved, impenetrable solid shield wall that snapped into place right behind and around Ridwan. The sudden barrier completely sealed off Ridwan's momentum, trapping him in a tight space and completely blocking his ability to dodge left, right, or backward!

Trapped against the shield wall, Ridwan looked up in panic. "What?!"

Floating above him in the air, Lam had already gathered a massive concentration of Ecosystem Type Urja. Green, radiant solar energy condensed rapidly into his hands, forming a brilliant, burning sphere of natural power.

"Solar Beam!" Lam shouted.

A massive, devastating beam of concentrated solar energy erupted from Lam's hands, firing straight down at the trapped boy!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The Solar Beam slammed directly into Ridwan, the sheer natural light and kinetic force smashing through his defenses and pinning him to the floor. The explosion tore up the bedrock, engulfing the space behind the pillar shield in brilliant green light.

When the dust finally cleared, the stone pillars dissolved back into raw Urja particles.

Ridwan was brought down to his knees, his clothes scorched, his -x tier spear lying on the ground beside him as he gasped for air, completely battered and exhausted from the direct hit.

Lam landed smoothly on his feet a few paces away. He dusted off his clothes, walking over to the kneeling boy with a confident grin.

Lam looked down at him and mocked playfully: "Ok Ridwan, go back to Sneha!"

Before Ridwan could even process the words, Lam channeled a sudden burst of Brawl Type energy into his right leg.

"Finishing Kick!" Lam yelled.

THWACK!

Lam unleashed a powerful, kinetic-infused sidekick squarely into Ridwan's torso!

The sheer force of the kick sent Ridwan airborne, launching him like a cannonball across the entire stadium floor! He flew completely past the boundary lines of the ring, clearing the protective railings, and crashed violently into the empty seats of the viewers gallery!

Ridwan pulled himself up among the broken stadium seats, clutching his bruised chest as he glared back at the ring with absolute frustration, roaring at the top of his lungs:

"BASTARD!"

The referee raised his hand high, pointing toward Lam as the digital scoreboard flashed the official result.

"RIDWAN HAS BEEN KNOCKED OUT OF THE ARENA! THE WINNER OF GROUP 5, MATCH 10 IS LAM!"

The crowd erupted into thunderous cheers and applause, celebrating Lam's clever tactical victory and diverse elemental showcase. Lam waved lazily to the audience, turning to walk out through the victor's gate.

Meanwhile, far out in space, sitting back down upon the boiling, 54,110,025 degree Celsius surface of the Red Star Colex-5411025...

The Five-Armed Man folded his arms across his chest, adjusting the eyepatches over his third, fourth, and fifth eyes. He looked down through the cosmos with his first two eyes, watching Lam celebrate his victory inside the stadium on Anipla.

A small sigh escaped his lips as he reclined back into the stellar plasma.

"Ah..." the Five-Armed Man murmured to himself, closing his eyes as he rested upon the burning star. "It's not the Supreme G. O. D MITHU."
