Chapter 100 - Head & The Car Race

Author's POV

The heavy reinforced steel doors of the League's central command base hissed open, parting like the jaws of a sleeping monolith.

Stepping through the threshold, Jasper Jean Mariano—the legendary "Bloody Crimson"—no longer bore any resemblance to the vulnerable girl who had just broken down in the arms of her found family.

The air around her crystallized, turning sharp, frigid, and absolute.Flanking her were the inner circle of her elite tactical unit: Aya, the razor-sharp strategist; Luna, the silent shadow; Zen, the technological ghost; and Max, the vanguard whose physical prowess was rivaled only by his absolute loyalty.

They moved in perfect, synchronized step behind her, an entourage of lethal grace.Turning her head slightly, Jay's dark eyes locked onto the massive crowd gathered in the main corridor.

The sprawling chamber was packed to the brim with high-ranking mafia bosses, ruthless syndicate leaders, and the formidable foot soldiers of the global underworld.

They were men and women who ruled continents with iron fists, yet the moment Jay's gaze swept across the room, an immediate, deafening silence fell over the crowd.

"Make way," Jay commanded, her voice low but carrying a terrifying resonance that echoed off the high concrete walls.

As she marched down the center of the vast corridor, the sea of hardened criminals parted instantly. One by one, row by row, the feared rulers of the underworld bowed their heads in deep, unyielding reverence. There was no hesitation. To defy her was to court execution.

Jay walked with an ethereal, predatory elegance, her footsteps echoing like a rhythmic death toll until she reached the far end of the hall. There, raised on a dark obsidian dais, sat the grand throne of the League—the seat of absolute authority.

Jay ascended the steps without a single backward glance. She turned, her tactical cloak swirling around her, and sat down on the throne.

The moment her back pressed against the leather, the entire room erupted. In a singular, terrifyingly synchronized motion, hundreds of mafia leaders and mercenaries drew their firearms, raised them toward the ceiling, and pulled the triggers.

A deafening volley of gunfire shook the foundations of the base, muzzle flashes illuminating the dim hall like a storm of lightning.

"Welcome, Head!" their voices boomed in a unified, roaring chorus that rattled the glass fixtures.Jay sat perfectly still amidst the smoke and the smell of sulfur, her face a mask of cold stone.

She leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees, her eyes narrowing as she locked onto a few faction leaders whose bows had been just a second too late, whose eyes harbored a lingering, desperate hunger for the throne.

"I know some of you look at this seat and see nothing but power," Jay began, her voice cutting through the ringing silence left by the gunshots. "I know you look at me and think my youth and gender makes me weak. Let me remind you of the fundamental law written in the blood of our founders. The motto of this League is to protect the weaker and support the needy. We are the shield in the dark, not the tyrants of the innocent."

She paused, letting the weight of her aura crush the room. She stood up slowly, tapping the hilt of the blade at her hip."Those who dare to violate it... those who think they can use the League to oppress for their own greedy gain... be ready for the consequences. I will personally tear your empire down stone by stone, and I will not leave enough of you behind to bury. Do I make myself clear?"

A collective shiver ran through the hardened crowd. "Yes, Head!" they shouted back, sweating under her intense glare.Satisfied, Jay descended the throne.

The terrifying underworld queen vanished, replaced once more by the girl fiercely protective of her loved ones. She walked toward Keifer, Section E, her brothers, and her friends, who had been watching the entire display with dropped jaws.

"Come with me," she whispered, her tone softening completely as she guided them away from the crowd and down a restricted, quiet corridor. She led them into a deeply secluded chamber.

The transition was jarring. The room was bathed in the soft, flickering glow of white candles, filled with the bittersweet fragrance of fresh lilies. It was a funeral room.

Standing prominently in the center, resting on a polished mahogany easel, was a large, beautifully framed photograph of an older man with kind but fiercely intelligent eyes.

"This is why I had to escort myself so abruptly from the gala earlier," Jay said softly, her voice cracking slightly as she stood before the image. "They killed him. The rival factions took him from me before we could secure the perimeter. He was my godfather, the man who shaped me into who I am today."

The group stood in a reverent, stunned silence. Jay stepped forward, picking up a pristine white rose from a nearby table, and gently laid it at the base of the photograph.

"Happy birthday to me, Pa," Jay whispered, a single tear escaping her eye before she quickly wiped it away. "Today is my eighteenth birthday. I am finally taking the position as the Head, fulfilling the promise I made to Kuya Sam. I told you I would protect the legacy, and I will."

She turned back to face her friends and family, a small, proud smile touching her lips. "And... I also want you to meet my family. The people who kept my heart human."

One by one, Jay introduced them to the photograph, her voice filled with profound warmth. She introduced Keiren and Keigan as her younger brothers;Angelo , Aries, Percy as her protective , horescope and sel- obssessed brith respectively, Section E as her unbreakable shield, and her friends as her sanity, Mia as her sweetpead, Tita Gemma and Lola as her mother , her father Jasfher and Mom Reycee .

Finally, she stepped beside Keifer, wrapping her fingers around his forearm and pulling him close."And most importantly, give us your blessings, Pa," Jay said, her cheeks dusting with a rare, beautiful blush as she looked from the photo to Keifer. "He is your son-to-be son-in-law. He loves me completely, and he accepts all my evils, too."

The solemnity of the room was instantly shattered by a chorus of choked gasps and sudden coughs."Son-in-law?!" Drew squawked,"Wow ! Jay that was fast"

"Whoa, family expansion pack unlocked real quick," Zen muttered, blinking rapidly

Aya crossed her arms, a smirking grin spreading across her face. "Well, he did survive the underworld reveal, so I guess he passes the vibe check."

Keifer, however, didn't look shocked at all. Instead, a deeply smug, breathtakingly handsome smirk spread across his lips. He leaned into Jay's space, his arm wrapping securely around her waist as he looked directly at the photograph of the legendary underworld figure, completely unfazed by the terrifying reputation of the man in the picture.

"Don't worry, Sir," Keifer said smoothly, his voice dripping with a flirty, confident charm that made Jay's heart skip a beat. "I'll make sure to take extra good care of your daughter. Though, to be fair, she's a complete meddler and foody . But I promise to love every single one of her beautiful, terrifying evils for the rest of our life. Just give us your blessings, and I'll handle the rest."

"You really have no shame, Watson," Section E's leader groaned, shaking his head, though a fond smile broke through his stern expression.

With the ice broken, the formal funeral procedures were carried out. The League's priest conducted a quiet, respectful service, allowing Jay to properly bid farewell to her mentor. The atmosphere was a beautiful blend of closure and new beginnings, surrounded by the unconditional love of the people who truly mattered.

-------------------------------

Later that evening, a clear division was made. The elders and kids, including Mia, were sent back to the safety of the Fernadeze mansion under heavy guard.

The rest of the young adult crew—Jay, Keifer, Section E, the brothers, the girls, and her core inner circle—piled into a fleet of sleek sports cars and headed to the Hanamitchi Hotel to properly celebrate the birthday girl.

"Alright! No more sad stuff tonight!" Blaster shouted, slamming a bottle of whiskey onto the table. "We are celebrating Jay turning eighteen! That means we need to do something fun and crazy. Let's play Truth or Dare! No lying and no holding back. Funny and spicy choices only!"

Everyone cheered. Blaster placed an empty glass bottle in the middle of the table. He gave it a hard spin. The bottle spun fast before slowing down. The top of the bottle pointed right at Aries.

Aries was the serious brother. He sat with his arms crossed, his face stern and unreadable. He did not usually play games like this, but tonight was for his sister Jay.

"Dare," Aries said, his voice deep and completely serious.

Honey smirked from her corner. Her eyes looked mischievous. "Aries, you are always so quiet and strict. But your girlfriend Ella is sitting right next to you. Your dare is to give her a spicy, dramatic movie-style kiss right now. But first, you have to whisper a super cheesy line in her ear. And you have to say it loud enough for the microphone on the table to hear it."

Ella's face turned bright red, but she stood up, giggling. Aries let out a heavy sigh, but a tiny smirk hit his lips. He pulled Ella to the center of the room. He dipped her low, holding her back safely with his strong arm. He leaned in and whispered loudly into her ear, "Are you a magician? Because whenever I look at you, everyone else disappears."

The whole room groaned and booed at the super cheesy line coming from the most serious guy in the room. But Aries did not care. He pulled Ella up and gave her a passionate, spicy kiss. The boys started whistling and cheering until the five seconds were up.

"Wow is that still my horescope brother!",Jay said cheering.

"You don't let me touch your sister and now look what are you doing brother -in -law. Can I kiss your sister now?",Keifer asked smirking.

Aries sat down, adjusted his jacket, and said "Don't you dare touch my sister ,Watson. and I am no ones brother -in- law."

"Yet",Keifer said chuckling dark

Aries spun the bottle next. It pointed straight at Luna.

"Truth," Freya said immediately. She raised an eyebrow, looking calm.

Max lean, "Is it true that you still sleep with the ugly stuffed animal your childhood crush gave you when you are stressed?"

Luna froze. Her cool face completely vanished. "I... yes, fine! It is a fat penguin named Sir Fluffs-a-Lot. Stop talking about it or I will kill you." The whole room burst into loud laughter as luna hid her red face behind a pillow.

Luna quickly spun the bottle to get the attention off herself. It landed on Edrix.

"Truth," Edrix said, fixing his shirt.

"What is the most illegal thing you ever did that Keifer had to save you from?" Luna asked.

Edrix coughed nervously. "I accidentally hacked into the city's traffic light system. I changed all the lights to green because I was late to buy cheap chicken nuggets. I caused a three-mile traffic jam. Keifer to settle the things before the police caught me."

"Good job, Edrix. Food comes first," Rory laughed, lifting his glass.

The bottle spun again. This time it pointed directly at Rakki.

"Dare!" Rakki shouted, feeling confident.

Freya smirked. "I dare you to kiss Cin. No kissing her on the cheek. A real one."

The room went "Ohhhh!" together Rakki leaned up and peek his lips for few seconds. When they pulled apart cin was smiling like a maniac and Rakki hid her blushing face in Freya shoulder while everyone cheered loudly.

Next, the bottle spun and pointed straight at Percy.

"Give me a dare. I am feeling brave tonight," Percy said, cracking his knuckles and grinning.

Jay was sitting back, resting against Keifer. She opened her eyes, and a mischievous glint appeared in them. She wanted to tease her brother. "

Percy... I dare you to get down on one knee right now. Hold Honey's hand, look into her eyes, and sincerely propose to her. Tell her exactly what you like about her."

The room became completely quiet.

Everyone knew Percy and Honey liked each other, but they always argued. Nobody expected his own sister to force them to admit it. Honey's breath hitched, and her eyes went wide..

Percy swallowed hard. He stood up, walked over to Honey, and dropped down on one knee. He took her shaking hand in his. The funny mood vanished. He looked very serious and sincere.

"Honey," Percy said. His voice became soft and sweet. "I know this is a dare. But... I have wanted to say this for a long time. I love how strong you are. I know I used to push you away and avoid you. I'm really sorry for that. I was such a fool to do that. And I realised I truly love u. I really want you in my life forever. Will you be my girlfriend?"

People gasped. Everyone waited for Honey to punch him or laugh. Instead, Honey swallowed hard. Her face became very soft and happy.

"Yes," Honey whispered, a big smile breaking across her face. "I like you too, you self obsessed idiot."

"Oh my god, it actually worked!" Percy shouted, throwing his hands in the air,"I know you can't resist my charm."

The room exploded into loud, chaotic cheering. Jay smiled, proud of her matchmaking skills.

Percy spun the bottle next. It landed on Denzel.

"Truth," Denzel said, still shocked by the proposal.

"What is your biggest fear nowadays?" Percy asked.

Denzel pointed a shaking finger right at Grace.

"That woman right there when she has not had her morning coffee. She gave me a look last week that made me want to write my will." Grace just smirked and took a sip of her drink..

The game kept moving fast with lots of energy. Denzel spun it to Zen. Zen chose a dare and had to do fifty pushups with Ava sitting on his back. He barely finished, screaming in pain while everyone laughed.

Zen then spun it to ava. Ava chose truth and admitted she had a secret playlist of soft, sad pop songs she listened to after dangerous missions to make herself feel human again.

Finally, Ava spun the bottle. It spun slowly and locked onto Mark Keifer Watson.

"Dare," Keifer said smoothly. His eyes never left Jay. He was leaning back on the couch, looking completely relaxed. His arm was resting on the sofa behind Jay's shoulders.

Ava grinned like a bad cat. "Keifer... your dare is to whisper the most explicit, spicy thing you want to do to Jay tonight right into her ear. But you have to do it while staring directly at her brothers, Percy and Aries. Let them see exactly how bad your thoughts are."

"Oh, you are a dead man, Watson!" Aries roared, he cracked his knuckles slowly. "Try it, Watson. See what happens."

"Aries baby ,let them enjoy",Percy said encouraging them.

Keifer laughed. It was a deep, attractive sound. He was not intimidated by the protective brothers. He leaned in very close to Jay. His lips brushed against her ear. His hot breath made her shiver. He whispered a slow, "I really want to finish what we started at mansion wifey."

That made Jay's eyes go wide. Her cheeks turned bright, burning red. Keifer kept staring right into Aries angry faces the whole time. He pulled away with a giant, victorious smirk.

"You really have a death wish!" Aries yelled, throwing the pillow.

Keifer caught it easily with one hand, laughing out loud, while others just chuckled.

Finally, Keifer spun the bottle. It slowed down and pointed right at the birthday girl. Jay.

"Dare," Jay said immediately.

Aya stood up from her seat. Her eyes were bright with a wild idea. "Perfect. Jay, I dare you to a high-speed car race against Max right now. This is a private, secret racing track underground for mafia leaders. Let's see if the new Head is still the queen of the streets, or if you have gotten soft."

The room went crazy with excitement. Max stood up and slammed his fists together.

"Oh, it is on! I have been waiting to beat your record for six months, Jay!"

"Let's go! Race! Race!" Luna and Zen chanted, jumping up and down.

However, the loud cheering stopped instantly when two sharp, serious voices spoke up.

"No," Keifer said. His voice became deep, serious, and very protective.

"Absolutely not," Aries agreed, standing up straight. His serious face was totally dark now. "Jay, you just fought an army of killers a few hours ago. You are tired. Racing at three hundred kilometers an hour on a closed underground track is crazy right now.

The room grew quiet. Everyone could feel how worried the men were. Keifer held Jay's waist a little tighter. He was terrified of something happening to her after almost losing her earlier.

Jay looked up at Keifer, then at her protective brothers. Her eyes became soft and gentle. She reached up and placed her hand on Keifer's cheek. Then she looked over at Aries.

"Hey," Jay said. Your voice was calm, steady, and full of confidence. "Trust me. The driver's seat is where I feel most safe. I am not going to break. Trust me."

Keifer looked into her eyes for a long moment. He saw the fire and life inside them. He let out a loud sigh and kissed her forehead. "Fine. But if you get a single scratch, I am taking your car keys away for a month."

"You can try, Watson," Jay teased, standing up.

------------------------------

The entire group descended into the massive, neon-lit underground racing facility near Hanamitchi Hotel.

The track was a marvel of engineering—a sprawling, twisting concrete circuit wrapped in glowing LED strips, designed for testing high-performance tactical vehicles.

Two beasts of machinery idled at the starting line, their engines roaring like chained monsters.

Max sat inside a heavily modified, matte-black Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, the supercharger whining with terrifying power.

Jay climbed into her signature vehicle: a sleek, midnight-blue Nissan Skyline GT-R R34, its twin-turbo engine humming a deadly, symphonic purr.

The group gathered in the reinforced glass observation deck overlooking the starting line. Aya stood between the two cars, holding a glowing neon-green flag. The engines revved, the sound vibrating through the concrete floor, rattling the bones of everyone watching.

VROOM! VROOM!

Aya snapped the flag down.In a fraction of a second, both cars launched forward, their tires screeching in a violent spray of burning rubber and white smoke.

Max took an early lead, his massive horsepower shoving the Charger ahead into the first sharp, ninety-degree turn.

"Max took the inside lane!" Zen yelled, pressing his face against the glass.

Down on the track, Jay didn't panic. She shifted gears with flawless, mechanical precision. As they approached the hairpin turn, Max braced to drift, but Jay did something entirely insane. She didn't brake.

She accelerated into the wall, using the slight incline of the reinforced barrier to wall-ride the angle, completely bypassing Max's block from above.

"Holy shit! She's flying!" Felix yelled, grabbing his hair in disbelief.

The Skyline slammed back onto the asphalt, perfectly parallel to Max's car. The two vehicles flew down the straightaway, neck and neck, a blur of midnight blue and matte black moving at blinding speeds.

Max tried to crowd her lane, but Jay flicked her steering wheel, executing a perfect micro-drift that clipped the apex of the final turn with millimeter precision. She engaged the nitrous oxide system.

A burst of blue flame erupted from the twin exhaust pipes of the GT-R. The Skyline surged forward like a bullet shot from a rifle, crossing the finish line a full car length ahead of Max.

The observation deck went absolutely wild. Screams, cheers, and high-fives echoed through the underground facility.

Jay slowed the car down, pulling into the pit lane. She popped the scissor door open and stepped out, her hair slightly messy, a brilliant, exhilarating adrenaline-fueled smile gracing her face.

She looked vibrant, alive, and completely free from the ghosts of her past. Before she could even take a full step away from the car, a pair of strong, familiar arms wrapped securely around her waist.

Keifer had sprinted down from the deck. He lifted her completely off her feet, hoisting her high into the air. He spun her around in a dizzying circle, his deep laughter echoing through the concrete garage.

The relief, pride, and absolute adoration radiating from him was palpable. He stopped spinning but kept her lifted against his chest, his eyes locked onto hers with a burning intensity that made everything else in the universe fade away.

"You are absolutely insane, Jasper Jean Mariano Watson!" Keifer shouted over the lingering hum of the engines, his voice thick with raw emotion. He tightened his grip, burying his face in her neck for a brief second before looking back at her. "I love you. I love you until the scientists find the absolute end of the universe, and even then, I'll love you through whatever comes after!"

Jay's heart swelled, bursting with a happiness she had never permitted herself to feel before tonight. She wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, leaning down to lock her lips with his in a deep, breathtaking, and victorious kiss.

When she pulled back slightly, her eyes were shining with tears of pure joy."And I love you too, Mark Keifer Watson!" Jay replied, her voice ringing clear and true across the racing track. " Until the galaxy fades away. Through the darkness, through the wars, and through the end of time."

Around them, Section E, her brothers, and her friends erupted into a deafening chorus of cheers and applause, celebrating not just a birthday, but the unbreakable bond of a family that had survived the dark and stepped together into the light.
