Danny and Sid ran around the school in the Infinite Realms and found that it looked like the modern one in the human world. The other students were doing the same thing. Sid led Danny to his locker and opened it and found the mirror broken.
-
"What does this mean for you?" Danny asked his ghostly friend.
-
"I don't know. It could mean that I could leave the school. Let's go look outside?" Sid said as he ran to the nearest exit. Danny followed him as quickly.
-
"Sorry for breaking the mirror." Danny said as they were running. "It had to be important to you to be bound to right?" He asked as they made it to an emergency exit.
-
"It's not a problem. I started to hate that thing after I died." Sid said as they made it outside. "Whoa."
-
Outside, where it was only the school yard, now had the nearest portion of the town surrounding the new school. Danny could swear he could see the Fenton Works sign at the edge.
-
"Do you mind if I call Aranea to explain what just happened?" Danny asked as a crowd was forming around the school.
-
"Yeah, I want to know what the hell just happened." Sidney said as he took some tentative steps towards the previous border and swiped at it. His hand didn't hit anything.
-
"Okay. Give me a moment." Danny summoned the spider tattoo on his arm and put his opposite thumb on it and put some energy into it.
-
A moment later Aranea came out of a portal and seemed as surprised as the students of the ghost school. "How did this happen?" He asked, looking around the new area. "This place was much smaller the last time I was here."
-
Danny gave a brief explanation of what had happened. "Now I called you to explain what exactly we did." He said, gesturing to the large area.
-
"Amazing. I didn't think Ghosts could finalize their cores on their own. I guess that happens when you have the backing of a halfa." Aranea speculated as he walked with Danny and Sid into town.
-
"Perhaps. Are Halfas that rare?" Danny asked as they hit the streets.
-
"Your type of halfas are." Aranea answered, picking up a newspaper as they turned a corner. "Halfas are humans who have ecto-energy in their bodies. You could call them contaminated." Aranea explained to the two ghost boys
-
"Cool. There might be a villain that's contaminated. Her name's Shego. Two of my friends fought her a few times. I fought her once as well." Danny said to them.
-
"That is neat. I didn't know that there are more types of halfas. Everyone I know just knows about the half and half." Sidney said as he looked into a store window.
-
"Those are the most famously known, the others could be seen as demigods in human history." Aranea told the newly green ghost. "Isn't that your house Phantom?" They said as they pointed down the street.
-
"Whoa, really, let's go check it out?" Sid said it as a question towards Danny.
-
"Sure. I guess." Danny said, remembering the scene from before the mission with Kim.
-
"Awesome. I've always wanted to see your place Danny." Sid said as he flew off towards Fenton Works. Danny and Aranea followed suit.
-
The three of them flew to the front door and opened it. They found it empty of everything. "I thought there would be more." Sidney said, disappointed.
-
"It is odd. All the other places had furnishings and other items. I wonder why only this place is empty." Aranea said, curiosity seeping into their voice.
-
'Maybe this part is my domain.' Danny thought to himself. "Could this be part of the whole 'bond' thing? Like, since I know this is my home, privacy is allowed for me." He suggested to the two people in the room with him.
-
"Maybe. I wouldn't want to trespass on your privacy." Sidney said as they looked around the empty building.
-
"If so, try conjuring something in here." Aranea suggested to the half ghost.
-
Danny nodded and tried to make the couch in the living room. Danny spread his aura and thought of the couch appearing in the room. It appeared without any effort on Danny's part. Instead of just the couch, the entire living room became fully furnished. So was the kitchen and, if Danny was right, everything else was furnished as well.
-
"Amazing, of course you have a house in my haunt." Sidney said, pinching the bridge of his nose.
-
"Actually, I believe this became a realm once the object you were bound to broke. Much more so after you became bound to Phantom." Aranea told Sidney.
-
"Really? That's amazing! I always wanted to have a realm. How'd it become a realm?" Sid rambled out.
-
"A Haunt and a Realm are almost the same thing. One is just when the Ghost or Spirit is bound to an area or item in the human world." Aranea explained. "Though it is odd that Phantom was able to change it for you." Aranea has a contemplative face. "Maybe Phantom is stronger than I thought. I'll check the rules for a realm after we're done here."
-
"When you do that, could you find me a way to get a realm?" Danny asked the spider samurai. "That or a place we could train on how to fight."
-
"Can we go meet your parents, Danny?" Sidney asked as he bounced on the couch.
-
"Let me go check the lab first." Danny said as he went downstairs. He left the duo of ghosts as they investigated the rooms. Danny found that the portal wasn't there, or Skulker's body. 'That's good.' he thought as he went back upstairs. Sidney and Aranea were waiting for Danny for him to take Sidney to meet the parents.
-
"C'mon. I'm so excited to meet your parents." Sid said as he bounced on his heels. "I wonder what they're like."
-
"Okay, okay. One moment." Danny told the newly energized ghost. He opened a small portal to his living room and poked his head inside and found no one there. "It's fine now." He said as he widened the portal to allow the others to walk through.
-
The three of them walked through the portal just as Jack and Maddie came up from the lab. "What's all this about? Why have you been with Sidney this whole time? Who's the new ghost or spirit." Maddie rattled off the questions to her son.
-
"In backwards order: This is the new Sidney Poindexter. I wanted to hang out with him after the mission with Kim and accidentally did the same thing I did with Scylla and Charybdis, which took some time. He wanted to meet the two of you." Danny answered all of her questions.
-
"I thought Sid was bound to the school." Jack said as he wiped his gloves on a towel.
-
Both Danny and Sidney gave them a rundown of what happened with them and how the mirror got broken and how he could now leave the school. This led to Jack and Maddie asking Sidney a whole lot of questions about the school and he answered the best he could, which was really well because one of his powers was being able to sense all that happens in the school and the surrounding area.
-
"Do you think your senses are still only connected to the school, or to the area of the town that is in your new realm?" Maddie asked the newly energized ghost.
-
"I don't believe he can. A realm and a haunt are different as a haunt plays a role on a ghost's powers while a ghost's powers affect a realm. As the extra room became the realm, I don't believe that will work." Aranea spoke up to answer the female ghost hunter.
-
"But you didn't know how I made his haunt a realm, plus I strengthened his powers, so maybe the combination of the two made it so he can sense the area in his realm." Danny countered. "Although, if he suddenly got a bunch of new data, he would probably get a headache."
-
"I'm fine with not being able to sense the whole town, the school is just fine for me." Sid said with a smile. "What I want to know is if you can sense what's going on in the school right now." He thought for a moment. "Right now is usually when the teachers have a meeting. They save Fridays for an early weekend."
-
"Okay, how do you want to test it?" Danny asked his ghost friend.
-
"Well, I can still sense what's going on in the school, so I can tell if you are right or wrong." Sidney suggested, which Danny agreed to. "Okay. So, Mr. Barkin is laying into Mr. Lancer, what is it about?" Sidney asked.
-
Danny focused for a moment before hearing the conversation between the two faculty. "It's about Dash and his bullying. Mr. Barkin is laying into Mr. Lancer about the amount of victims he has and all the complaints from parents over the years." Danny answered, smiling that a teacher actually cares about that.
-
Sidney smiled at that. "Correct, actually hearing a conversation is the toughest part of that power." He said and offered his hand for a hi-five, which Danny took.
-
"Excellent job, Phantom. I'll take my leave." Aranea said as he opened a portal. "I'll check the rules for realms and find a place for us to train Phantom." He said as he made his leave.
-
"I hope you'll add me to those sessions as well." Sid said to Danny. "I want to see what else I can do now with the bonding."
-
'Can you hear me?" Danny sent a thought to Sidney.
-
'Yeah, how can we do this?' Sidney asked inside the mind.
-
"It's just like me and my ectopi." Danny told Sidney.
-
"What's like you and the ectopi?" Maddie asked, confused at the two ghosts' silent interaction.
-
"Telepathy. I can talk to Scylla and Charybdis with my mind." Danny answered his mother. Then he had an idea. "I didn't have a cascade of information when I got the 'school sense' power. Maybe it's the same with the town senses?" Danny asked Sid who had a look of realization.
-
"If this works, it would totally help with patrols." Sidney said to the three Fentons. "Like the comic books. Now that I can leave the school, I want to help capture the bad ghosts." He had a fire in his eyes as he said that.
-
"Okay. Plus, since you don't actually have to go to school, you can patrol while I'm in class." Danny said with excitement. "We'll need to scan your new ecto-signature, so you don't get caught up in our tech." Danny said as he headed toward the lab.
-
Jack and Maddie stopped him. "Wait, don't go down there, there's a surprise in the lab and we want to keep it a secret." Maddie told her ghostly son. "I have a scanner with me so just stand right there, Sidney." She told her son's ghost friend as she pulled out her scanner and used it on him. "There, all done."
-
"Okay. Want to go on patrol now?" Sidney asked Danny.
-
"Sure. Let's go. It'll give them more time to work on their secret project." Danny said he telepathically called Scylla and Charybdis to him and then all the ghosts went invisible, intangible, and flew off.
-
"Let's try and use the new 'town sense' power and find any bad ghosts." Sidney suggested to his silver haired friend. "Just think about what you want to find and your power should just search for it automatically." He suggested to the ghost hero.
-
"Good idea Sid. Also, think about your hero name, if you want one that is. You could always go Kim's route with the identity thing." Danny told the full ghost as he went to use his 'town sense' power. 'Ghosts and Spirits.' Danny thought and got a bunch of information, so much that it hurt his head. 'Bad Ghosts and Spirits.' Danny refined his search and got a bunch of hits in the factory area. "Got something, let's go check it out."
-
"Good because I just got a massive headache when I searched for Ghosts and Spirits." Sid said, clutching his head as he followed Danny.
-
"I did too, but then I refined the search for 'Bad' Ghosts and Spirits." Danny told his fellow ghost hero. "We'll work on how to refine the searches later, so we don't have to always have to use our power to search the whole town each time." He said and Sidney nodded at that.
=
Danny and Sid made it to the Factory Area and found the workers being terrorized by ghosts and spirits "You think any of them are weak enough to automatically be sucked into the thermos?" Danny asked Sidney as he prepared said device to suck in the bad people.
-
"Maybe. The Box Ghost went in rather easily without much fight." Sidney answered with a smile, he didn't care much for bullies.
-
"Okay, here it goes." Danny said as he put the thermos on its widest setting. He activated the thermos and it pulled half of the ghosts towards them and into the thermos. "Okay, that got half of them. Now, we need to make sure the human workers get out safely and none of the bad Ghosts or Spirits escape." Danny told the three other ethereal beings around him.
-
"Okay Phantom. Watch what we can do." Both ectopi said in unison before turning into giant squid looking beasts.
-
"Amazing. Now use those tentacles to help the workers escape." Danny commanded and the ectopi followed. "Sid, you're with me. Let's go!" Both of the ghost boys flew down into the fray.
-
Danny and Sidney phased into the building to find the Ghosts and Spirits causing chaos. Danny and Sid split up to cover more ground and fought the various ghosts.
Scylla caught a bunch of falling debris from hitting a group of workers. Charybdis swooped in to grab those workers and flew them out of the building. When she came back in, she had a bunch of ghosts that were outside in the same tentacles.
Sidney used his telekinesis to move a bunch of workers from the path of falling metal beams thrown by some of the ghosts. After the workers were out of the way, Sid turned his attention to the group of ghosts and blasted them with a purple ray of ecto-energy. The ray hit and Danny swooped in to catch them in the thermos.
Danny wasn't idle in his actions either. After catching the ghosts Sidney shot down, he charged into another cluster of ghosts and did an ecto-energy powered flip kick and sent them all to the ground to then be sucked up by the thermos. The attack made most of them weak enough to be sucked in, but a few resisted. Danny then sent an ecto-ray to the rest and then they made it in the thermos.
Charybdis called out and threw a bunch of the ghosts towards Danny, and he caught them in the thermos. Same with Scylla. It took another five minutes with the four heroic ghosts working together to capture all of the bad ghosts and save all of the workers.
-
"Good work team." Danny said, breathing heavily. The other ghost heroes seemed energized still. "How are you feeling?" He asked as they floated inside the building the workers were working in.
-
"Amazing. Is this what jocks feel after they win a sports game?" Sidney asked, holding a hand to his chest. "My core is racing. Is that good or bad?"
-
"Don't ask me. I probably know less than you about this core business. Although, it may have to do with the workout we just underwent." Danny theorized before turning to the ectopi. "How are you two feeling? This was a longer fight than you are used to." Danny was concerned about whether they were hurt.
-
"Just as Sid said. Amazing." Scylla told Danny, to which he was relieved to hear about.
-
"Hey, you four." Someone called out from the ground. The ghosts found that it was one of the workers.
-
"You three stay here, I'll see what she wants." Danny told them and they nodded as Danny flew down to meet the worker. "Yeah?" Danny asked, cautious about her reaction to their interference.
-
"Thank you. For saving everyone. I'm the Foreman for this building and everyone getting hurt would have been bad for business. Who are you all?" She asked, glancing up at the three other ghosts.
-
"I'm Phantom and those ghosts are part of my team." Danny said as he gestured to the other ghosts. "We were just passing by on patrol and found all these ghosts messing with you. We'll deal with them as best as we can." Danny assured her.
-
"Who do you work for?" The Foreman asked as her shoulders relaxed.
-
"We work for Fenton Works. Or, they at least supplied us with the ghost catcher we used." Danny answered, hoping that this would help his parents give Kim and Ron a job.
-
"That's weird. I just thought they were crackpots that wanted to destroy all ghosts. I guess that second part isn't true if they are hiring ghosts to catch ghosts." The Foreman thought for a moment. "How does that work though? You being ghosts that catch ghosts?" She asked in an innocent voice.
-
"We don't like bullies. It's really as simple as that. We go after the bad ghosts that cause damage to the town and the people in it." Danny answered as honestly as he could, not wanting her to know that this was their first official patrol. "If you don't mind, we really need to get on with our patrol." Danny said and she nodded.
-
"Right. Sorry to keep you. Thank you again for saving us." The Foreman said as Danny flew back to his friends.
-
"Let's go, we'll talk more when we're higher up." Danny told them as they phased through the roof of the building.
-
After they were out of range of anyone's ears, they stopped flying up. "We work for your parents?" Sidney almost laughed out loud.
-
"Well, we sort of do. I'm their son and the current de facto leader of this group and they invented the thermos. So, yeah, we work for them. I just need to tell them before they find out from rumors." Danny said to his ghost friend.
-
"I'm fine with you being the leader, but should we go release all the ghosts or continue patrol, like you said to that woman?" Sidney asked as he pointed at the thermos.
-
Danny was about to answer when his phone rang. Danny answered it and found that it was Kim. Danny blushed and dropped his phone. Sidney caught it and accidentally answered it. Sid quickly gave it back to Danny. "Hey Kim. Why are you calling?" Danny asked in a quick fashion.
-
"I don't know, it may have to do with you stealing a mission from me." Kim said in an annoyed voice.
-
"What do you mean? I just caught a bunch of ghosts terrorizing factory workers." Danny told her, confused.
-
"Oh, they were ghosts? Okay, I didn't know that. It's fine then. Who was the green ghost that answered the phone? Did you make another new friend?" Kim asked with a teasing undertone.
-
"Not really, that was Sidney. I'll explain later, but he's now able to leave the school and is now a superhero with me." Danny said to the redhead.
-
"Okay Phantom. Well, I'll just hop off now, probably meet up with my friend Danny at his house. I heard his parents had something to show us." She said in a voice that meant she was being watched. She gave Danny a look saying to explain later and then hung up.
-
"I guess we're going to release the ghosts now." Danny said as he put away his phone. "Do you want to stop at your realm or have Scylla release them far from the portal?" Danny asked Sidney and Scylla perked up.
-
"Why not both? We could go to my realm and let Scylla go farther in a shorter amount of time." Sid suggested to his half dead friend.
-
"Okay, let's do that." Danny agreed and opened a portal to the Fenton Works on Sid's realm. They all went through it and flew out of the front door and to the edge of the island. Danny handed the thermos to Scylla. "Go the same amount of distance you did last time and come back here. Charybdis, go with him and fight off the ghosts that try to fight back." He commanded to his ectopi and the nodded and flew off with surprising speed.
-
"Okay, what do we do while we wait?" Sid asked as he and Danny watched Scylla and Charybdis disappear from view.
-
"Meditate? They didn't take long last time we did this, plus we might learn about any new powers we have." Danny told his friend.
-
"Okay, how do we do that?" Sid said with curiosity in his voice.
-
"I think we just touch our inner cores and listen to them? That sounds right to me." Danny said as he sat crosswise on the ground and Sidney copied him.
-
"Okay, I'm willing to try it if you are. I trust you." Sidney said as he closed his eyes.
-
Danny entered the trance-like state and found his large orb. He decided to still follow his advice and touch the orb and listen. Instead of words, Danny saw visions of him using his powers. Danny could see him absorbing energy into his hands as well as making shields of energy, ice blasting and growing plants, exorcizing ghosts from people's bodies as well as taking over those bodies. He could change his size, duplicate, breathe underwater, breathe in space, and so much more.
Danny let go of his orb, processing all of the data that he got. 'I so gotta check if I'm capable of these already, or if they need a lot of practice.' Danny thought to himself. 'I'll ask Aranea when they come back from finding information about realms in the modern age.'
-
Danny opened his eyes as he saw Scylla and Charybdis on the horizon. Sid was awake as well and had a bit more confidence in him than before. They waited for Scylla and Charybdis to arrive before Danny made a small portal to check the living room. He found his friends and family looking at him. Danny removed his head. "It's clear, only my friends and family are on the other side."
-
"Okay, let's go then." Sid said as Scylla handed back the thermos to Danny.
-
Danny widened the portal and they all went through. Danny was first, the ectopi were second, and Sidney was third. Everyone in the living room stood up when Sidney walked in, except Jack and Maddie.
-
"Who's that?" Sam asked, pointing to Sid.
-
"Hi everyone. I'm Sidney Poindexter, new and improved with the help from Danny." Sid reintroduced himself to the people he considered his friends.
-
"Okay, so is this kind of like when Danny meditated with Scylla and Charybdis?" Tucker asked. "Because if it is, I might just have to try it out with him."
-
"Yes, the transformation was the effect of me meditating with Danny, but I already had his backing when we did so. I don't think it will work with humans." Sid told Tucker.
-
"Hold on a minute, that might not be true." Danny spoke up. "Aranea said that there were other humans with ecto-energy, so maybe I can give others my backing and give them some powers." Danny told the green ghost boy.
-
"Right. You also said that Kim and Ron fought one of the ecto-contaminated people a few times, Shego right?" Sid asked the group.
-
"According to Mr. Masters." Ron told Sidney. "Also, Danny, did you tell your parents about the comment he made about making time to meet them?" He asked the halfa.
-
"Vlad said he would try to meet us?" Maddie asked with tears in her eyes, but she had a huge smile on her face as she hugged her husband, who had his own smile.
-
"We can finally know why he didn't come back to college after the accident. I felt a little upset that he didn't even send a note after I paid for most of his hospital bills." Jack said, which caught the attention of all the human children.
-
"Did you ever reach out to him or leave a message that you did that?" Jazz asked, knowing how her father is like.
-
Jack blinked a few times. "No, I don't think we did. Did we?" He asked his wife, who was still hugging him.
-
Maddie let go of her husband with a frown. "No, we didn't." She said as tears started up again.
-
"That could be why I felt so much hatred from him when I talked about you two." Danny told his parents. "He probably thinks you abandoned him in the hospital." He told them, feeling a little anger for Mr. Masters himself. "You'll have to tell them everything whenever you meet him, what if that had been me? My ghost sense was going crazy around him, he's a halfa like me, but he is full of rage and hatred." The air was starting to get colder around Danny as he was talking.
-
"Calm down Danny." Scylla and Charybdis sandwiched his chest and back and stroked him and Danny almost instantly calmed down.
-
"Sorry, I was just thinking about how that could be me without a support system." Danny apologized and the temperature went back to normal.
-
"It's fine hun." Maddie came and gave Danny a hug, and so did Jack.
-
"Sorry if I am feeling a bit impatient, but Ron and I have a curfew. Can we get along with the secret project you have for us?" Kim said, bouncing her knee.
-
"Right. Sorry to bring this up again, but remember how we opened Skulker's body? Well we found a much larger space inside that looked lived in. So we tried to copy it and managed to succeed in making an exploratory vehicle." Maddie explained as she led the group of teenagers to the lab.
-
"So you made the Specter Speeder with an expanded interior?" Jazz asked bluntly.
-
"Yes." Jack didn't care that his daughter interrupted her mother. "It's quite large inside, larger than all of Fenton Works." He started explaining the concepts, but Maddie stopped him after seeing the bored looks on the kids' faces.
-
"We plan on seeing if we can copy it in the lab to make it larger, so we have more room to work." Maddie said as she opened the lab to show a floating vehicle in the middle of the lab.
-
Maddie was going to continue to talk, but Kim's phone rang. "Sorry, it's my dad. I have to go." Kim said as she turned to leave. "I'll check it out tomorrow." She said as she went upstairs to the front door.
-
Ron started to follow her. "I probably have to go as well. See ya." He said to the group behind him.
-
"Speaking of my parents wanted me to be home all day, if they're not going to be here I'm not." Sam said as she went after them.
-
The Fentons looked at Tucker and Sidney and saw that they weren't going to leave and continued on. "Should we wait until tomorrow to show off the Specter Speeder or continue it today?" Maddie asked the other teens.
-
"Kim said that she and Sam were going clothes shopping for more of Sam's type of style. I don't know how long that will be for them to do it tomorrow." Danny told his mother and the others nodded in agreement.
-
"I wonder if they'll let me join." Jazz said as she looked up the stairs.
-
"Let's just do this tomorrow after they do their shopping." Maddie said. "Have any of you eaten? I'll cook up something quick to eat." Maddie said as she closed the lab and went upstairs.
-
"I could eat." Tucker said as he followed Maddie.
-
"Ghosts and Spirits don't eat human food. Danny, could you send me to my realm now?" Sidney asked, a bit disappointed that he wouldn't be able to see the speeder.
-
"Sure, give me a moment." Danny said as he opened the portal to the realm's version of the school and Sid walked through.
-
After the portal closed Jack spoke up. "That is still awesome every time I see you use that power."
-
Jazz nodded in agreement with her father. "Yeah, it seems so convenient too." She said as the three Fentons went up the stairs to see what Maddie was making to eat.
=+
It was the next morning, and Kim and Ron were being driven up to Fenton Works by her mother. It was still a few hours before school, but Kim and Sam remembered that they had a shopping trip today so decided to check out the Specter Speeder early. When her mother pulled up, Sam was walking up to the Fentons' front door.
-
"Hey Sam." Both Kim and Ron greeted the goth as they got out of Mrs.Dr. Possible's car. They had their school bags with them and Kim's mother drove off after they got out.
-
"Hey Ron, Kim." Sam greeted back from the Fentons' porch. "Ready to look at what the Fenton's made?" She asked as the two globetrotting hero walked up the steps to the porch.
-
"Heck yeah. It sounded like something from 'Captain Constellation'. I totally want to check it out." Ron said with a lot of energy.
-
The three of them walked into the Fenton's house to find them eating breakfast. Tucker was also there, as was Sid. They talked about doing this last night over the phone. The humans finished their breakfasts and Maddie and Jack led the group to the lab to show them the Specter Speeder.
-
"As I said last night, this should be even more area than all of Fenton Works." Jack said as they walked into the lab. "What I didn't say was that we tricked out the entire area to hold a bunch of weapons and controls for the exterior weapons or appendages." He explained all the weapons stored in it and all of what the exterior could do.
-
Maddie opened the door to the speeder and ushered them inside the expanded area. All of the teens were impressed with the interior. "This could make an awesome place to explore the Infinite Realms over prolonged periods of time." Kim said as she saw the couches and chairs, there was even a tv in there. "You made it like this for that express purpose, didn't you?" Maddie and Jack rubbed the back of their necks in embarrassment.
-
"It is a good idea though." Danny spoke up. "If we ever go too far that trackers can't be caught, I could just portal us home." He said as he opened the door to the driver's and passenger's seats, which didn't have an expanded interior.
-
Everyone just talked for a few hours before they needed to head to school. Sidney stopped Danny. "Did you tell them about Team Phantom working for Fenton Works?" He asked.
-
Danny nodded. "Yeah. They seemed to like the idea. Now let's go to school, be sure to stay invisible or in your realm." He told the green ghost boy.
