The moment the five of them stepped beyond the twelfth floor, the atmosphere changed.
The sounds from below were no longer distant. They were everywhere. Footsteps pounded against polished floors and doors slammed open.
Voices collided with one another as screams were heard.

Another voice repeatedly demanded that someone call 911.

"Guess our peaceful days are over," he mumbled.

"For Santa to come."
