Chapter 153 - Chapter 152 - Fighting Incident

Upon seeing Spartacus's fierce expression, the merchants could not help but feel afraid.

The furious Spartacus took a few steps forward and was stopped by two clone legionaries.

"What are you going to do?" Spartacus said with an angry expression.

The response Spartacus received was a punch to the stomach.

The sudden punch caused him to lose all the air from his lungs.

The Thracians tried to help Spartacus, but a group of clone legionaries stopped them.

Nero approached Spartacus, who was lying on the ground, and stepped on his neck with a little force while Spartacus tried to recover the oxygen in his lungs.

"Spartacus, who do you think you are to speak to me like that? I will tell you frankly: do not bring your tribal temper here. This is the Roman army! Not to mention your tribe; even your entire Thracian population is nothing compared to Rome and General Septimus," Nero said calmly while slightly pressing Spartacus's neck with his foot.

Nero released Spartacus and looked at all the Thracians while shouting, "Have you seen what happened to King Pontus? He had an army of 300,000 men, but now we have driven him out in a miserable state. Do the Thracians think they are stronger than Pontus? If you continue like this, you will bring disgrace upon yourselves and your tribe."

"Spartacus disrespected me a moment ago, which made me very angry, but I am magnanimous, and if he kneels, I will forgive him," Nero said while looking at the humiliated Spartacus getting up.

Spartacus was furious, but in the end, he silently knelt, knowing that his stubbornness could affect his tribe.

"I am very sorry!" Spartacus said while kneeling with an expression of humiliation.

"It is nothing, but do not do it again next time. Not everyone has as good a temperament as I do," Nero said while gently patting Spartacus on the shoulder.

Spartacus nodded and left with an impassive expression. The Thracians were worried about him, so some stayed behind and followed him to keep him company.

Some time later, some Thracians joined him.

"Thank you for saving us. May the gods bless you, kind Thracians," said a Thracian with tattoos on his body.

Spartacus looked at them, and dozens of Thracians appeared before them, including elderly people and children, looking at him with immense gratitude.

"You had better leave quickly, or they will catch you again," Spartacus said kindly.

"We… We have no food, they took all our clothes and burned our homes. If we leave now, we will die of hunger and cold," said an elderly Thracian with a dejected expression as he looked at Spartacus pleadingly.

Spartacus looked around. After looting, the Roman soldiers set fire to all the houses, and the entire village was engulfed in flames.

This enraged Spartacus and caused him to develop a deep hatred toward the Roman army.

"These damned Romans are driving people to their doom."

"I am very sorry, there is nothing I can do," Spartacus said while shaking his head and leaving without looking back.

There were more than a thousand of them, and he simply could not afford to support them.

Seeing Spartacus leave, the Thracians fell into despair.

Winter had arrived, and without houses, warm clothing, money, or food, what other option did they have but death?

During the march that followed, Spartacus became increasingly disoriented and confused.

Why were they fighting? Why were they helping the Romans oppress the Thracians? He was completely bewildered!

At the military camp, Spartacus wandered around with a lost look in his eyes and dark circles under them.

"Sir, have you seen that fool? I heard that he spent 2,000 denarii to save 1,000 Thracian slaves, but those Thracians had neither food nor water and had to sell themselves as slaves."

At the Roman military camp, a soldier pointed at Spartacus and said with a smile.

"That is how barbarians are; they are not very clever," said a Roman with disdain, with a long scar on his face and a fierce appearance.

Both men had classic Roman equipment and belonged to the Roman legion of Asia.

Originally, Spartacus ignored them because within the Roman army, the legion of Asia was considered a marginalized legion.

But the words of the two Roman legionaries shocked and enraged Spartacus.

Did those Thracians sell themselves as slaves because they had no food or water?

And on top of that, they dared to call themselves a barbarian!

"Damn it, who are you calling a barbarian?" Spartacus roared furiously as he approached the two men.

He soon discovered that one of the men's identity was that of a centurion of the Roman legion of Asia.

This caused him to lose his momentum, and at that moment, the other legionary saw an opportunity to flatter his superior.

"What will you do if I tell you? Do you even know how to speak to your superior? Thracian barbarian!"

The soldier's disdainful tone finally caused Spartacus to lose his composure, and his long-repressed anger erupted.

"You damned bastards, today I will beat you to death!"

After saying that, Spartacus slapped the soldier, causing a spray of teeth and blood to fly out.

Spartacus mercilessly beat the soldier, causing him to faint.

"Damn it, stop right there!" the Roman centurion said while kicking Spartacus.

Spartacus was on guard against the centurion, and after dodging the kick, he lunged directly at him.

The screams attracted the attention of other legionaries and allied barbarian soldiers, who watched Spartacus beat a Roman centurion.

A group of Roman legionaries wearing black military equipment made their way through the crowd surrounding the three men and approached Spartacus.

With a powerful kick, the burly Spartacus was pushed away from the Roman centurion, who was unconscious.

"Stop the fight!" a clone legionary shouted sternly.

The angry Spartacus got up from the ground, and with anger clouding his mind, he wanted to hit the clone legionary who had kicked him.

The clone legionary dodged the blow and threw a punch directly at Spartacus's face.
