Chapter 32 - The Lawless Zone

REAL WORLD — Into the Forbidden Zone

Shortly after the council…

Isaac, Augustus, and Rasfi reappeared inside the royal palace of Ccare.

Rasfi lay on the ground.

Unconscious.

Barely breathing.

To the outside world…

The self-proclaimed king had become nothing more than a hollow shell.

A puppet.

A corpse that still moved.

Isaac looked down at him.

Disappointed.

Not just in Rasfi.

But in everyone.

— I can only rely on myself now…

Augustus immediately dropped to one knee.

— My King… forgive my foolishness!

His voice trembled.

— I lowered my guard… because of that ridiculous clown!

— Our kingdom is now at risk!

Isaac didn't even look at him.

— Don't concern yourself with me.

A pause.

— Have you forgotten… our role in this world?

Augustus froze.

Then—

His expression changed.

— You're right…

He lowered his head.

— This world made us forget who we truly are.

— Thank you for reminding me, my King.

Meanwhile—

Far away.

The Lawless Zone

Purple lightning tore through the sky.

Volcanoes roared endlessly.

The land itself felt… alive.

Hostile.

Vorso, the twin kings Eden and Ayden, along with The Goat, advanced through the chaos.

For now—

They were managing.

But night was coming.

And that changed everything.

Vorso glanced at Ayden.

— Sorry to ask…

He tilted his head.

— But is your brother okay? He looks… exhausted.

Ayden smirked.

— Eden rules the day. That's when he's strongest.

He cracked his neck.

— Me?

— I was half-asleep during the council… But now…

— I feel alive.

The Goat observed silently.

— Your brother was quite authoritative.

— Harsh… but fair. For a human.

Ayden sighed.

— Great… now Eden's wife fell asleep too.

He lifted Eden onto his back.

— I'll carry him.

He looked at his wife.

— You carry your sister.

Vorso rubbed his temples.

— Twins… twins everywhere… This is giving me a headache.

Then he smirked.

— Let's move.

A pause.

— If this place was just lightning and volcanoes…

— I'd walk straight ahead without thinking.

His eyes sharpened.

— But that's exactly what my instincts want.

The Goat nodded.

— And that's why this place is forbidden.

Then—

Something changed.

The pressure rose.

Suddenly.

Violently.

The ground shifted—

From red…

To copper…

To deep violet.

Flowers began to grow.

Everywhere.

Roses.

Mimosas.

Lilies.

Tulips.

Impossible.

Trees surrounded them.

Stretching endlessly.

Bearing strange, unnatural fruits.

The lightning—

Turned red.

— Don't touch anything, the Goat warned.

Vorso.

— What the hell…?

— It feels like I'm carrying three times my weight!

The Goat's eyes narrowed.

— Atmospheric pressure increased.

— Temperature shifted.

A pause.

— It feels like…

— We're underwater.

Vorso frowned.

— Underwater?!

— There's lightning!

— We're on an island!

The Goat replied calmly.

— Your breathing.

— The density of oxygen.

— The pressure.

— All signs point to the same conclusion.

He looked ahead.

— We need to reach the surface.

Vorso laughed.

— You've officially lost your mind.

Ayden pointed forward.

— The only high ground I see…

— Is that volcano.

A pause.

— But who would climb an erupting volcano?

The Goat stepped forward.

— We would.

The Ascent

They moved forward.

Exhaustion slowly creeping in.

Luckily—

Ayden's wife, Myra, had brought emergency supplies.

They ate.

Drank.

Recovered.

All of them.

Except one.

The Goat.

He remained still.

Fasting.

Watching.

He did not eat animals.

Nor plants.

Humans…

Were beneath him.

Soon—

They reached the base of the volcano.

Then—

They saw them.

Fish.

Floating.

At their feet.

Vorso blinked.

— …How are they swimming?

The Goat responded.

— They're not swimming.

— They're floating.

A pause.

— I've never seen such creatures before.

Ayden clenched his fists.

— I feel it…

— The night has peaked.

— I'm stronger than ever.

Without hesitation—

He dashed forward.

Carrying Eden.

Fast.

Too fast.

Then—

A red lightning strike.

BOOM.

An electric eel.

Ayden was struck.

Violently.

He collapsed.

Dragging Eden down with him.

Vorso and the Goat caught them.

Ayden coughed.

Regaining consciousness.

— The higher we go…

— The more dangerous they become…

He looked at the volcano.

— And even if we reach the top…

— How do we cross the lava?

Vorso crossed his arms.

— Fighting here is pointless.

— This is enemy territory.

— We need to escape.

The Goat turned to Ayden.

— Can you reach the top… And come back?

Before he could answer—

Myra stepped forward.

Dropping her sister gently.

— I'll do it.

She looked at Ayden.

— I'm faster than you.

Vorso smirked.

— We'll wait here.

Myra's Run

She moved.

Like lightning.

Dodging strikes.

Evading creatures.

Running for her kingdom.

For her husband.

For survival.

She reached the summit.

Barely.

Lava surrounded her.

She stepped carefully.

Toward the edge.

And looked down.

Her eyes widened.

The ocean.

At the bottom of the volcano.

— That's the exit…

Suddenly—

A presence.

Behind her.

She ran.

Instinctively.

Back down.

Faster than ever.

She returned—

Breathing heavily.

— We have to jump!

— Into the center of the volcano!

Silence.

The Goat frowned.

— Have you lost your mind?

Vorso grinned.

— Sounds good to me.

Ayden lowered his head.

— Thank you…

— And I'm sorry.

The Goat sighed.

— Lava. Lightning. Unknown creatures.

— And you want to jump into the center?

— Nothing here is rational.

Ayden looked at Myra.

— I trust her.

A pause.

— I'd jump into the void for her.

— Because I know…

— She would do the same.

Vorso laughed.

— Then let's all jump together.

— Otherwise those things will kill us before we leave.

The Goat closed his eyes.

Then—

— …Fine.

They ran.

Together.

Dodging attacks.

Taking hits.

Enduring.

They reached the summit.

And jumped.

One by one.

Ayden.

Vorso.

The Goat

But something followed them.

A shadow.

Fast.

Closing in.

It attacked.

A burst of light.

The Goat raised his golden horns.

Blocked.

Reflected.

The light vanished into darkness.

He narrowed his eyes.

— What kind of beast…

Then—

A voice.

— You are not welcome.

The Goat froze.

— Intelligence? From a creature like that.

It stopped chasing them.

They fell.

Faster.

Faster.

Then—

SPLASH.

The ocean.

Vorso laughed.

— We made it!

— Now we just swim to shore!

Ayden looked around.

His expression changed.

— …Where is my brother?

Silence.

— He's not in the water.
