The Honest Arrest
Before the lazy reporter could even attempt to validate the man's unhinged financial analysis of nature, the heavy wooden doors of the broadcast studio violently burst open, nearly ripping off their hinges.
BANG!
A highly armed team of federal police officers stormed directly onto the live television set, wielding heavy revolvers, tactical batons, and iron handcuffs. Leading the charge was the Police Commissioner himself, his chest puffed out with absolute, incorruptible righteousness, looking like he had just walked out of an action movie.
"Freeze, you absolute pinnacle of broadcasted moral decay!" the Commissioner bellowed, his voice booming through the studio. He marched straight up to the news desk and pointed a heavy, judgmental finger directly at the lazy anchor. "You are under arrest for the blatant, live-broadcasted crime of bribing a federal detainee!"
The Commissioner aggressively pulled a pair of heavy iron handcuffs from his tactical belt, fully prepared to slap them onto the reporter's wrists to uphold the sacred law.
The lazy reporter didn't even flinch. He didn't stand up. He didn't look scared. He simply let out a deeply exhausted, congested sigh. He reached over to the massive brick of cash the sandwich guy had slammed on the desk earlier, and lazily picked up a thick bundle of high-denomination notes.
Without even breaking eye contact with the main camera, the reporter casually reached out and tried to stuff the bundle of cash directly into the Commissioner's uniform shirt pocket.
The Commissioner aggressively swatted the reporter's hand away in pure, unadulterated disgust.
"Do not attempt to corrupt me!" the Commissioner roared heroically, standing tall. "I am placing you under federal arrest!"
The reporter blinked slowly. He looked at the swatted cash, then looked back at the Commissioner's heavily decorated uniform.
"Ah. Oh, I get it," the reporter mumbled monotonically. "You are insulted by the lower denominations. My apologies. I didn't realize you were a premium-tier public servant."
The reporter casually picked up a second, even thicker bundle of cash from the desk. Leaning over slightly, he tried to aggressively shove both massive stacks of money directly into the officer's tactical ammo pouches at the exact same time.
"Stop this absolute madness!" the Commissioner yelled, violently pushing the money away and stepping forward, rattling the handcuffs. "Your filthy, untaxed money will not work on me! I am a man of the law! I am the last unbribable beacon of hope in this failing, corrupt city!"
The Premium Corruption Button
The reporter let out a heavy, irritated groan. He slowly lowered the cash back onto the desk, looking profoundly inconvenienced by the Commissioner's morality.
"You are being incredibly difficult, and the physical effort of handing you cash is making me very, very tired," the reporter sighed.
He casually reached his hand under his news desk. There was a loud, heavy mechanical CLACK as he pressed a highly specific, hidden red button mounted directly beneath the wood.
The Police Commissioner scoffed, letting out a loud, mocking laugh of absolute, heroic superiority.
"What the hell did you just press?!" the Commissioner laughed condescendingly, holding up the iron handcuffs. "Do you think pressing a random studio panic button is going to suppress me?! This is not physically possible! I am not a corrupt officer like everyone else in this failing department! What do you actually think of me?!"
Suddenly, a heavy, encrypted analog radio clipped to the Commissioner's belt began to ring violently, flashing a bright red emergency light.
The Commissioner frowned, his heroic smile faltering. He pulled the radio up to his ear. "Commissioner speaking. Justice is currently being served on live television."
On the other end of the line, the Head of the Police Department's voice exploded through the receiver in a frantic, highly aggressive panic. The audio was muffled, but it sounded like a man desperately barking absolute orders to abort the mission before the world ended.
"Sir? What?!" the Commissioner gasped, his face instantly draining of all color. "But... why do we have to do this?! He literally committed bribery on live television! The physical cash is sitting right in front of me! I have him dead to rights!"
"You have to leave immediately, and we don't have any options left! It is critically important! Drop the fucking charges right now!" the Head of the Police Department screamed through the radio static, his voice cracking with panic.
The Commissioner's heroic composure completely shattered. He glared at the lazy reporter, who was currently slouched in his chair, aggressively picking at a piece of lint on his cheap tie, looking like he was bored out of his mind.
"You absolute bureaucratic parasite!" the Commissioner yelled into his radio, absolute betrayal breaking his voice. "I know exactly what just happened! You just took a massive digital bribe from this fucking reporter through that button, didn't you?!"
"Listen to me, you self-righteous idiot! His network just wired enough unregulated credits into my offshore account to buy my wife a diamond-encrusted yacht! If you put handcuffs on that man, I will personally reassign you to traffic duty in the radioactive zone with no protective gear! Just release him or lose your fucking job!" the Chief roared back before violently cutting the transmission.
The Commissioner stood completely frozen in the middle of the studio. His unwavering, lifelong dedication to justice, his years of police academy training, and his absolute moral high ground had just been completely dismantled by a single, lazy button press. He aggressively shoved his iron handcuffs back into his belt, his hands shaking as he glared at the reporter with pure, unadulterated hatred.
"Okay," the Commissioner seethed, his voice shaking with anger as he signaled his heavily armed team to stand down and exit the studio. "I am leaving you now. But soon... you will pay for what you have done. Mark my words!"
The reporter slowly sat up straight in his squeaky chair. In a rare, highly unusual display of physical effort, he smoothly adjusted his cheap necktie. He looked the furious Commissioner dead in the eyes, entirely unbothered by the dramatic threat.
"So, yeah," the reporter deadpanned, looking directly into the camera lens with absolute apathy. "This is exactly how logistics and legal disputes are handled in DI."
Without breaking eye contact with the camera, the reporter lazily raised his hand and flipped a slow, highly deliberate, and flawlessly executed middle finger directly at the Police Commissioner as the man marched out of the room.
The Executive Approval
Click.
Back in the pristine executive lounge of Kavilson Steel, Malesh aggressively twisted the dial on the media player, instantly switching off the massive analog television screen.
The room plunged into silence.
Malesh smoothly adjusted his Dragon-themed silk tie, leaning back into the plush leather sofa. A rare, genuinely satisfied smirk crossed his face as he processed the sheer, uncompromising corruption they had just witnessed.
"What an absolutely flawless display of systemic efficiency," Malesh stated flatly, genuinely impressed by the reporter's workflow. "That button is a logistical masterpiece. We need to install one of those under Kniya's desk immediately."
The Corporate Roast
Kniya aggressively chewed his mint gum, staring at the blank, static-filled television screen, his chaotic brain violently trying to process the absolute absurdity of what he had just watched.
"Wait a minute," Kniya announced, throwing his hands in the air. "I am officially declaring it right now. That entire news broadcast was completely fake. It was a highly scripted, fabricated plot!"
Malesh smoothly adjusted his Dragon-themed silk tie, crossing his arms. "Explain your logic, Kniya."
"Are you fucking kidding me?!" Kniya yelled, gesturing wildly at the blank TV. "I am absolutely not going to believe that a six-hundred-pound, starving wild tiger jumps out of the bushes, completely ignores a human jugular, and specifically targets a plastic lunchbox! And then it just sits there, completely sparing the man's life, just to stick its tongue out and laugh at him?! Where the fuck does the logic come from?!"
"You make a highly valid biological point," Malesh agreed, his dark eyes narrowing in analytical suspicion. "The predatory instincts depicted in that footage were completely incorrect. A wild apex predator does not engage in petty psychological warfare."
"And the guy!" Kniya continued to rant, his chaotic energy peaking. "A completely average, everyday citizen just stands up, grabs a massive tiger by the paws, and yeets it into an oak tree so hard that it bleeds?! And then he just beats the absolute shit out of it?! What the fuck is even that?! Why is a random man so insanely courageous that he is literally winning a fistfight against an apex predator over a fucking roasted sandwich?!"
"The physics of the spinning throw were highly suspicious," Malesh deadpanned, nodding slowly. "The average human spine would have snapped under the rotational weight of a six-hundred-pound cat. It was definitely a staged propaganda piece."
"Can we please just start the movie now?" the burnt-out billionaire Client begged from the plush leather sofa, aggressively massaging his temples. "I don't care if the tiger was a paid actor. If I don't see a Tree Spy in the next thirty seconds, I am going to legally adopt a wild predator and let it eat me."
Filoska, who had been standing near the back of the executive lounge, crossed her arms and glared fiercely at the two billionaires.
"Honestly? I am not even surprised anymore," Filoska sighed, her aristocratic voice dripping with absolute venom. "I am starting to heavily suspect that everyone in this country who reaches the top of their field—including the news reporters—is just a complete, unhinged idiot. Exactly like you and Malesh."
Kniya gasped, placing a highly offended hand over his tailored blazer.
"Filoska, please do not manipulate the facts in front of our highly prestigious client," Kniya defended himself smoothly, completely rejecting the insult. "That is absolutely not true. We are corporate visionaries. That reporter is just a fraud. There is a massive economic difference."
Salesh aggressively rubbed his face, walking over to the media player. "Shut up. All of you, just shut the fuck up. I am pressing play. Let's just watch the fucking Tree Spy so I can go back to my ledgers."
