-Roar!
The Ogre began to flail. He swung his club in blind, desperate arcs—upward, downward, diagonal—trying to swat the fly that had finally learned how to sting. Every miss made him more frantic, and every drop of green blood hitting the stone floor fueled my adrenaline.
When it was close to hitting me, I backed off far from him. Far enough to buy some time, But close enough to observe him.
"Heh... not so smug anymore, are you? You big green Ogre!" I taunted, my voice dripping with malice, Taunting him "Actually, since you've got that lovely moss-colored hide, how about I give you a name? I'll call you 'Grigga'."
-Roar!
It was Just a taunt but his reaction was Satisfying. By the way, I am not a Racist. Definitely Not.
The first step towards my win has been taken. Now the only thing to do was make a plan, a strategy to strike him down for the better. I don't have mana to Spent on vain attacks anymore.
The dome had grown quiet, save for the heavy, rhythmic thud of the Ogre's footsteps and the crackle of the blue torches. I stood there, wiping a fresh smear of blood from my chin, looking less like a child and more like a Smart Strategist in process of creating his master strategy to take down his Archenemy.
First things first, What weapons do I have in my arsenal ? What are the cards available in my hands? Other than my Zes?
Magic? I have tried all attributes of magic.
Almost all of my offensive spells are useless against his thick hide and massive club.
The only spell that does work, even if just a little, is fire.
Although it does not burn or damage him, all it does is the heat giving him some pain.
Would using Blink behind him and piercing his neck work ?
No. His animalistic senses were too sharp. He'd feel the displacement of mana and tilt his head, turning a killing blow into a glancing scratch. Same goes for his head. So, Backstabbing is Useless. Instead, I might get my skull blasted if he swings his club to the back.
Think! Ty! Think! There must be something! Something I can use to kill this Ugly giant bodybuilde-wait... Bodybuilder ?
I looked at him or to be more precise, I stared at that 15-foot frame, his body shape. Big body, Bear muscular body type, Broad shoulders....
That's ..Perfect!
Looking at the Gym rat Monster's body shape ignited a brilliant plan in mind. A treacherous plan that uses his own body's weakness against him started to weave in my head.
But I still have to get rid of his club for it to work... How? Wait...
I replayed every swing he'd made in the last twenty minutes. The memories of each one of his swings started playing in my mind, Every horizontal sweep, every vertical overhead strike. I started trying to find a weakness, a pattern, a flaw. Sometimes he swung his club horizontally while sometimes Vertically.
Why ? Is there a pattern ? ...of course! There has to be! And there is!
But.. it can also be just a coincidence... No! Let's Test it! Even a small possibility, a small variable can turn a battle's sure outcome!
There's No loss in a Little Experiment, Right? No, Actually, There is a loss. A huge Loss. If it's not what i think it is, I might end up having a few more Cracks in my Ribs, If I am Lucky. If I'm Unlucky? Not Much, Just a few broken Ribs. Or worse, Well, I wouldn't have to worry about tomorrow's sunrise.
But Do i have any other Genius option? Unfortunately, I do not.
So, testing is exactly what I did.
I stayed standing still. Like a statue, No fighting stance, No escape stance, Just standing. Waiting for him come and strike me down.
The ogre charged towards me in the Highest speed that His Overweight body could muster, the ground groaning under the weight of his frantic, overweight sprint. And raised his club high in the air, his shadow swallowing me whole, ready to swing it vertically.
A Down slash! Knew it!
This is the Pattern of his Swing! Every time I stood still he used Vertical slash and when I was ready to run, he used Horizontal slash. So, By standing still, I had successfully baited his most predictable Move.
A broad smile appeared on my face. My thesis have been Correct and Now! All necessary pieces are in Place! Time to put my Strategy Into Play!
It's about time we finish our little game! You ugly fucker!
-Grrr!
He swung his club downward in full power, enough power to pulverize a boulder
I moved to the side to avoid his attack by Sidestepping it.
I layered a Barrier and Wind Magic beneath the point of impact, creating a localized cushion that dampened the shockwave. I didn't want to be blown away. After all for the plan to work, I needed to stay close.
The club landed on the ground and I avoided the hit, the gnarled wood missing my nose by the width of a coin.
I turned my head and focused on the wrist of his right arm. It was a forest of knotted muscle and grime, but it was his only link to that club.
That is my Target! So, I aimed for it!
Flame thrower!
-Fwoosh!
-Grr! Roar!
I used the fire spell with Max output in my arsenal. A large amount of fire, a Jet of Flame Shot from my palm towards him. As the fire hit his hand, he started to scream.
The heat was agonizing. Even a Dungeon Boss has nerves in his hands, after all. The Ogre's grip spasmed, and the massive ironwood club clattered to the floor. And that's exactly what I've been waiting for.
Good! Wind Impact!
I used wind magic before the Club could even touch the Ground, to blow the club away.
-Whoosh!
A localized burst of air sent the club sliding fifty meters away across the smooth stone. He was disarmed.
Now! Blink!
I used blink to warp myself at his back. I Vanished from my spot, from his field my vision and I reappeared directly behind his massive back.
Vacuum!
I used Low-level wind spell, Vacuum. I created a pressure seal between my palm and his upper back, sticking to him like a lizard.
-Growl!
The Ogre went berserk. He spun, he bucked, and he thrashed, his massive hands clawing at the air in a desperate attempt to grab the thing on his spine, trying to catch me, who was now riding on his back.
But he failed. He couldn't reach me.
A weakness that all body builders have, A simple and yet fatal weakness for those with Giant body size. They are not able to touch their back. Those massive deltoids and titanic lats weren't just weapon of destruction, they were a cage. He had traded flexibility for power, and now he couldn't even scratch the itch that was about to kill him. To think it was this simple!
He could just lie down on his Back and Squash me like an Insect under his Massive Weight. But, As expected, He doesn't have even that much brain!
You're finished!
I used Zes concentrate to manifest zes at the tip of my sword. I compressed it until the tip of my sword glowed with a white-hot, microscopic intensity. And...
-STAB!
Stabbed him on his back, Right where his spine is.
The blade, reinforced by Zes Concentrate, didn't just pierce the skin—it sank into the meat like a hot needle through butter. I drove the steel home, feeling it bite into the thick, bony vertebrae of his spine.
