"This is a Fire Energy Block. I also recommend preparing Poké Balls and Potions."
Ren handed the Poké Ball and the energy cube to Mateo as he spoke calmly.
"I've already uploaded the Pokémon Breeder guide to Secretary Liam. You can have your director request it directly from him."
As promised, Ren had sent the complete Breeder handbook to Liam earlier that morning.
"Alright, thank you, boss."
Mateo nodded gratefully.
"You're welcome. After all, you serve the people. I respect that," Ren replied with a small smile.
With the Poké Balls in hand, Mateo and Isla each hesitated for a moment before tossing them toward their Pokémon. A flash of red light—and the Pokémon were drawn inside.
The two outstanding officers stared at the Poké Balls in disbelief.
It was incredible. Completely beyond common sense.
Mateo clicked his tongue, staring at the small sphere in his palm. He was practically speechless.
"Then we'll head back first. We'll come visit again when we have time."
After carefully noting Ren's instructions, Mateo and Isla said their goodbyes.
They had successfully purchased Pokémon. As much as they wanted to stay and maybe witness a so-called "legendary Pokémon battle," they still needed to report back to their director.
"Take care."
Ren watched them leave, his smile lingering.
"The Pokémon police are officially in motion…"
Mateo and Isla were the first generation of Pokémon officers.
A good beginning.
Next…
"A real-life Nurse Joy."
Ren leaned against the counter, thinking.
The healing machine wasn't a problem. After the system upgrade, he could purchase additional medical equipment—like portable healing devices—from the system store.
But Nurse-type Pokémon like Chansey?
That was harder.
"If I can't draw one directly from the prize pool, I'll have to wait until Pokémon start appearing in the wild and see if I can find a Chansey group."
Once Trainers increased in number, a single healing machine in his shop wouldn't be enough.
He had already discussed this with Liam.
Liam would provide a venue and certified medical staff for a Pokémon Center. Ren would supply the healing machines.
But medical staff alone weren't ideal. Pokémon like Chansey—or its evolution Blissey—could treat minor injuries with ease, reducing pressure on both machines and personnel.
Still, drawing one precisely from the system pool wasn't easy.
So he would wait.
"Hey! Boss! Come look! Emma and I are on TV!"
Lily's excited voice rang out from the lounge area. She was holding up her phone, eyes sparkling.
Ren walked over and sat beside the two girls.
The screen displayed a segment from Daxia News.
"At noon yesterday, Modu University organized an outdoor activity in the western suburbs. During the event, a tiger appeared and attempted to attack students."
"At the critical moment, two students used three mysterious creatures—Charmander, Squirtle, and Lapras—to freeze the tiger and resolve the crisis."
"After the incident, local authorities acknowledged negligence. Responsible individuals have received disciplinary action."
"It is reported that these 'Pokémon' are newly discovered creatures with gentle temperaments. Although no wild populations have yet been confirmed, further investigation is ongoing."
Ren raised an eyebrow slightly.
Using the tiger rescue as an entry point…
Smart.
Pokémon were introduced to the public not as threats—but as saviors.
First impressions mattered.
And thanks to that rescue, the public's initial perception was overwhelmingly positive.
"Hehe~ I look amazing on camera," Lily said proudly, replaying the clip. "Natural beauty."
Ren: "…"
Emma pretended not to hear her.
"This is exploding," Emma said, scrolling through social media. "It's already number one on trending."
Every platform was flooded with discussion.
Are Pokémon real?
Is this magic?
Where can we buy one?
Some questioned the danger—but those voices were quickly drowned out by curiosity and excitement.
"Boss, you're going viral," Emma teased.
Ren smiled faintly.
He hadn't expected the officials to move this quickly.
Originally, he planned to launch larger promotions in a few days.
But this cooperation with Liam and the authorities had accelerated everything.
The fruit trees were already planted. The system-provided saplings would grow rapidly and bear fruit within two days—ensuring food supply once Pokémon began arriving in greater numbers.
Everything was lining up.
Ding—
The shop bell rang.
"Welcome," Ren said smoothly.
A young man stepped in with two companions.
"Hi… can we buy Pokémon here?"
Behind him, the other two looked around curiously.
When they spotted Emma, Lily—and Squirtle resting nearby—their eyes widened.
"Isn't that them?"
"Whoa… Squirtle is even cuter in person."
Emma and Lily exchanged a glance and offered polite, reserved smiles.
Fame felt… strange.
"Yes," Ren answered calmly. "Are the three of you interested in purchasing Pokémon?"
Before they could respond—
Ding ding—
The bell rang again.
Two more young men hurried inside.
"Wow! It's really Diancie! Alive!"
One of them shouted excitedly the moment he spotted the pink Mythical Pokémon watching anime in the corner.
Ren's expression turned slightly odd.
Five customers at once?
Diancie blinked, turning her head at the sudden commotion.
These humans…
They felt oddly familiar.
