Dongshan Quarry

Under the blazing afternoon sun, the gigantic Onix coiled across the quarry ground.

Its massive rocky body reflected the light, each segment larger than a truck. Just looking at it made people dizzy.

"What the hell is that? It's like a monster…"

"I heard it's Young Master Lucas's pet. Something called a Pokémon… but this is way too exaggerated."

"My God, that tail alone could crush a person flat."

"How can something like this exist? Isn't that against science?"

The quarry workers gathered at a distance, whispering in shock and fear.

Even though Jason had already confirmed that the creature would not attack—

No one could stay calm facing something like this.

Lucas stood beside Onix with a faint smile.

The stunned looks around him gave him a strange sense of satisfaction.

This feeling—

Was far better than closing a successful business deal.

"Onix, full?"

Lucas asked with a grin.

Onix rumbled softly and lowered its enormous head in front of him.

Jason looked on with envy.

Old Qin, however, was pale.

This thing… was a pet?

"Alright, alright. So big, yet still acts spoiled."

Lucas chuckled and lightly patted the horn on Onix's head.

Despite its terrifying size, Onix's temperament was gentle—exactly as Ren had described.

The contrast was oddly cute.

After recalling Onix into its Poké Ball, Lucas handed over the agreed payment.

"Sorry for the trouble today, Boss Jason."

"You're too polite, Young Master Lucas," Jason replied quickly. "Honestly, if that Onix were used for mining, it would be a miracle tool."

With a body that size—and the ability to Dig—

Mining efficiency would skyrocket.

And no fear of cave-ins.

Lucas only smiled.

Buy Onix?

Dream on.

He said nothing more and left.

Ruan Residence — Afternoon

"Huh? Dad, you're home early today?"

Ava and Liam entered the house, surprised to see their father already sitting in the living room.

"There's a guest coming. Go eat first."

Ruan Jianrong didn't even look up, eyes fixed on the video playing on his phone.

The siblings exchanged glances and went inside.

On the screen—

A tiger from the western suburban zoo.

And three strange creatures.

Fire.

Water.

Ice.

A girl calmly commanding them.

Within moments, the tiger was subdued.

"It's not… from Earth."

Ruan Jianrong muttered.

According to the police report—

Those "magical creatures" were purchased at a pet store in the city.

Pokémon House.

Owner: Ren.

Ding—

The doorbell rang.

Ruan Jianrong opened the door.

Lucas stood outside—

And beside him, Ren.

"What brings you here?"

They entered the living room.

Lucas scratched his head. "Uncle Ruan, I'm just the middleman. He's the one who wants to talk to you."

Ren stepped forward calmly.

"Hello, Secretary Ruan. My name is Ren. I'm the owner of Pokémon House."

Ruan Jianrong's eyes narrowed.

So this was him.

"Lucas, go eat with the kids."

Lucas understood immediately and left.

Ruan Jianrong gestured.

"Come to the study."

Study Room

"To be honest," Ruan Jianrong began slowly after pouring tea, "I've lived over forty years. This is the first time I've seen creatures like that."

Ren smiled faintly.

"The world has always been vast. Humanity hasn't explored all of it yet."

Ruan Jianrong did not argue.

Instead, he went straight to the point.

"You came to me. You want legalization for those creatures?"

"Yes. And more than that."

Ren placed his teacup down gently.

"Pokémon—as I call them—will enter this world."

Ruan Jianrong's fingers tightened slightly.

"Enter… this world?"

"Correct."

Silence filled the room.

"So they are not native to Earth."

Ren did not deny it.

"Is that important?"

Ruan Jianrong's gaze sharpened.

"It is."

Ren leaned back slightly.

"I come from a sea-blue planet. For now, I intend to stay here."

The air felt heavier.

Ruan Jianrong never imagined—

One day he would negotiate with someone who openly admitted to being from another world.

"You're currently introducing them through pet sales," he said slowly.

Ren shook his head.

"That's just a hobby."

Ruan Jianrong's expression changed slightly.

"I have already arranged a spatial channel within the city."

"If I wish, a large number of Pokémon could descend into the Magic City region at any time."

Ruan Jianrong stood abruptly.

"You—!"

"I won't," Ren interrupted calmly.

"If I wanted chaos, I wouldn't be sitting here."

Silence.

"Do you understand the panic that would cause?" Ruan Jianrong asked, voice heavy.

"I do."

"That's why I'm here."

Ruan Jianrong slowly sat back down.

"You want government endorsement."

"Partially."

Ren snapped his fingers lightly.

A thick manual materialized in midair and floated onto the desk.

Ruan Jianrong's pupils contracted.

"I want full cooperation in popularizing Pokémon. Official recognition. Structured regulation."

"And in return?"

Ren's smile deepened slightly.

"In return—Pokémon can change your world."

"Energy, medicine, agriculture, disaster response, resource extraction, environmental repair, even international conflicts."

"Handled properly, they reduce harm. They don't increase it."

Ruan Jianrong's heartbeat was steady now.

"You're very confident I won't refuse."

Ren met his gaze calmly.

"I didn't threaten you."

"But you understand."

"This opportunity won't appear twice."

Outside the study, faint sounds of conversation echoed from the dining area.

Inside—

Two men sat across from each other.

One represented a rising force from beyond this world.

The other represented the authority of a nation.

The negotiation had just begun.
