Chapter 63 - Chapter 63: A Rare Birth

Crack—

The sound of eggshell breaking rang clearly in the shop.

Lily's beautiful eyes lit up instantly.

Her very first time seeing a Pokémon hatch!

Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed something.

Emma was already recording with her phone.

"…So sneaky!"

Lily quickly pulled out her own phone.

This moment had to be saved.

The cracks spread further across the Egg.

Pieces of shell fell away one by one.

Then—

A small figure appeared.

"So cute!!"

All three girls reacted at the same time.

Their eyes practically turned into hearts.

The newborn Pokémon stood there unsteadily.

A soft voice came out.

"Lalu~"

It looked confused.

Small.

Delicate.

White body.

Blue bowl-shaped hair covering most of its face.

A red horn protruding from its head.

Ren's eyes shifted slightly.

"…Ralts."

Not the legendary Pokémon he half-hoped for.

But still—

An extremely rare and popular Pokémon.

Especially its final evolution: Gardevoir.

"Lalu~"

Ralts tilted its head, sensing the emotions around it.

Lily clasped her hands.

"It's even cuter than my Charmander…"

The Pokédex beeped.

"Ralts. Psychic/Fairy-type. The Feeling Pokémon.

Abilities: Synchronize, Telepathy.

Moves: Disarming Voice, Growl, Confuse Ray.

It senses human emotions through the horn on its head. It rarely appears before people but will approach those with positive feelings."

Liam stared.

"Wait."

He looked back and forth between the Pokédex image and the real Ralts.

"Something's wrong."

Ren was preparing a milk bottle filled with diluted energy cube formula.

"What is it?"

"The hair color."

Liam pointed.

"On the Pokédex it's green."

Everyone paused.

They looked carefully.

The Pokédex image showed green.

The real one—

Blue.

"…You're right," Ava said softly.

"And look at this," she added. "It has two abilities listed."

Synchronize.

Telepathy.

Ren blinked.

Then he smiled slightly.

"This one… is a different color."

"A what?" Lily leaned closer.

"Some Pokémon are born with rare genetic mutations," Ren explained. "The most common difference is color."

"They're called Shiny Pokémon."

"They're extremely rare."

"And sometimes… they may have slightly unique traits."

He glanced at the Pokédex again.

Dual ability listing.

Interesting.

Lily bit her nail.

"That's too unfair…"

It was already adorable.

Now it was Shiny.

Emma stepped forward without hesitation.

"Ren. Is it for sale?"

"Thirty million."

Ren nearly choked.

Before he could respond—

"Fifty million."

Lily raised her hand immediately.

Ava grabbed Liam's sleeve.

"Don't even think about it. We cannot compete."

Liam nodded seriously.

There was no way.

Ren quickly waved his hands.

"No. Absolutely not."

"I'm not selling."

He still remembered the last time those two tried to outbid each other.

And besides—

This was basically a gift from the system.

How could he sell it?

Keeping it was far better.

"…Fine," Lily sighed reluctantly. "Can we draw Ralts?"

"Yes," Ren answered. "But Ralts is considered a high-potential Pokémon."

"Psychic-types are already rare."

"The probability won't be high."

He then scanned the newborn with his special Store Manager Pokédex.

More detailed data appeared.

Ren glanced at one specific line.

Gender: Female.

He subtly relaxed.

Ralts had two final evolutions.

Gardevoir — Psychic/Fairy.

Gallade — Psychic/Fighting (requires male + Dawn Stone).

Only male Ralts could become Gallade.

But both genders could evolve into Gardevoir.

Ren personally preferred Gardevoir's elegant appearance.

If he raised it carefully—

It would become something beautiful and powerful.

"Lalu~"

Ralts finished drinking and gently pushed the bottle away.

It yawned softly.

Its eyelids drooped.

Ren's voice softened.

"Sleep, little one."

He placed Ralts gently onto a soft cushion.

Within seconds, it fell asleep.

The room became quiet.

After returning to the seating area, Ren looked at Liam.

"Sorry for the wait. Still drawing?"

Liam shook his head.

"It's fine."

"Seeing a Pokémon born… that's already worth it."

He paused.

"About that Telepathy ability."

"Does that mean it can communicate mentally in the future?"

Ren considered the question carefully.

"It's related. But not exactly the same."

"In battle terms, Telepathy prevents friendly fire from allies."

"But true mind-to-mind communication is deeper."

He folded his arms.

"Some Pokémon in history have shown telepathic communication. Lapras, Lucario, Mewtwo…"

"But it requires strong mental development."

"Not every Pokémon with the Telepathy ability can automatically do that."

Liam nodded slowly.

He was calmer now.

The earlier frustration had faded slightly.

Magikarp still sat quietly in its bucket.

The healing machine beeped softly in the background.

And on the cushion—

The tiny blue-haired Ralts slept peacefully.

A new life had entered the shop.

And somehow—

The atmosphere felt lighter.
