Chapter 58 - Reborn

Before anyone could reply, they heard sounds of screaming from the sky.

The giant serpent was flying upward, wings on its back, with those two eyes capable of burning the very soul.

Akarum sighed, exhaling.

"Kashime."

"Yeah?"

Yet their eyes never left the giant serpent.

"You should just get outside and fight. I guess Mrs. Asami will stay inside."

"You serious?" While Kashime turned toward Akarum, Flint moved Asami inside even though she was resisting slightly.

"It feels like I am making no decisions even though it's my life."

Akarum jumped outside Kaatoumo. Kashime followed him.

"You are going to use Prime Thorn," she said.

Flint also came back, standing right behind them.

"Yes."

"Alright, let me support you with something. I will make sure you won't get unconscious." Kashime's cosmic outline glowed, and now she was in her room. The flute was on the table. She reached out for it, but there was no hand, and she came back.

"Flint, try to access Puzzled Blessing. I don't think it would be helpful, but something is better than nothing." Akarum ordered. He was acting like a completely different person, and they could both see it.

"Acting all dominant?" Kashime remarked. Though the next moment the tree beside them burned, startling her. The evolved giant serpent was roaming in the sky. They had to do it quickly.

Denu, who was still at the academy, stared at the evolved giant serpent. Beside him, a few leaders were standing while the others' bodies had turned to dust.

It knew it. I was being selfish, yet I did it.

Denu clenched his teeth, turning toward the leaders. The leaders' eyes widened." Destroying it's all hearts was a bad idea."

"My Ruler, look." Daisy said, pointing at the evolved giant serpent. As Denu turned toward it, the Prime Thorn thrown by Akarum had already pierced through it, freezing its body rapidly. The evolved giant serpent was going wild now. Trees were burning because of it.

"Who did that?" Denu said, feeling relief as his fists loosened.

Anything alive that came into its sight burned as it rapidly froze into a statue and fell down.

"Move! Somewhere else. I am going to Light's Mansion." Denu commanded before dashing in the direction of Light's Mansion.

As the evolved giant serpent fell near Kaatoumo, the ground shook, dust blurring their sight.

Akarum was panting. White butterflies roamed around him, directly calming his brain and muscles.

"That was impressive," Kashime complimented as she jolted back into her room, placed the flute on the table. Her cosmic outline stopped glowing as her consciousness returned.

Flint was beside them, concentrating.

Denu's movements toward Light's Mansion were fast and urgent.

As he reached there, no lights were standing on top blood everywhere. As soon as his brain processed it all, his first thought was about Belly. His fists tightened as he rushed inside.

There was an angel standing in the courtyard before Belly. Her hands were placed behind her, her shaking upper body barely lifted.

The angel, Past, had no clothes, yet six wings on its back: two hiding its thighs, two covering its chest, and the remaining two for flying. He was holding a sword from the opposite side, as if telling Belly to take it and fight him.

"You bastard!!" Denu lurched forward, aiming to slam a strike on his skull.

"Denu? Save me, I don't want to die" Belly's head snapped toward him." There's many things, I wanna feel." Yet Past didn't even look at Denu. He just grabbed Denu's fist with his left hand and rotated it. Denu's bones cracked as the angel kept rotating his hand.

Denu endured the pain even though it was making him want to scream.

"Denu?! Why did you…?" Belly stood, moving to shove Past away, but she was thrown aside as the angel slammed the handle of the sword mechanically. She immediately lost consciousness as her skull hit the wall. Blood began to pour from her head.

"Colourful World," Denu said. The angel was thrown into an ocean of blood. The sky, which had no sun, glowed as if it were the brightest.

"Humans are too weak to kill me," Past said mockingly. His expression didn't even flicker.

Then the blood began to boil. Beams hit Past. Blood poured from his body, yet he didn't give in.

"Parallel Flow." Past began to levitate in the air. The world began to fade. Two wings appeared above him, glowing angelically. Then they bent inward before releasing a wind blow.

Denu, who was constantly moving his fingers assuming the angel might have died by now felt a jolt. Two souls came out of his body, one chained.

They both tried to re-enter the body but failed. Then another jolt hit. One soul was thrown into the past, into his past self.

He woke up from a dream in his past self. He was sleeping in bed.

"Where am I?" He opened his eyes, looking around his room. Everything felt familiar; he had seen this before.

"Am I… back in time?" The realisation hit him. He remembered everything. The angel had sent him into the past, into his childhood.

Then shouting sounds reached his ears. His mother and father were arguing about something. Then another realisation sank in: he was supposed to be happy to see his parents, but he wasn't. He could never be.

He swung his legs off the bed and moved toward the kitchen.

"But how will go back ? Am I stuck here ?," he whispered.

Then something broke."I haven't met Belly yet, as far as I know. There is still time before I will meet her."

"What are you shouting about?!" Denu called.

"None of your business. You aren't grown up yet." His parents turned toward him. The focus had shifted to Denu now.

Those words made him feel sad, made him feel small, like he wasn't valuable. But he wasn't supposed to feel that way, was he?

I shouldn't feel sad. What is happening?

The emotions he was feeling the sadness, the rejection he wasn't supposed to feel them. After all, he had grown up inside his past self's body, but he felt them. It still hurt him.

In the present, Past was now outside Colourful World. Denu's body fell to the ground. Then Past began heading somewhere, assuming Belly was already dead, far away from there in the trees.

Someone had revived: Liyoku Tatsuo. The cosmic sphere was beside him, not disappearing. His mind was filled with confusion, as if reborn. His mind was completely empty before information began to flood his brain.

"I am back." He shifted toward Light's Mansion.

"Welcome Home."

He said welcoming himself because the Earth was his home.
