[ Five years ago ]
Dylan was busy playing a racing game with his dad on game controllers when a woman's voice came from the kitchen," Come on my men of the house. It's time for lunch."
Then Dylan's mother, Tamaki, came out of the kitchen in an apron and Samantha attached to her to the hip. The two retorted saying that the would come immediately after they finished the race they were in the middle of. As soon as they said those words though, a cold chill ran down their spines. They slowly turned their heads mid game and looked at her but regretted it instantly. Her eyes were squinting hardly as was tapping her right foot on the floor. Her house slippers tapping on the floor. Dylan's father, Sebastian, said in fear," Come on honey, you know that this game has no pausing function. Just be lenient with us for this once."
" Okay," she said picking up the little Samantha and disappearing into the kitchen.
" Thanks honey," said Sebastian bringing his attention back to the game.
Not that much longer, Tamaki came back with a claw hammer in hand. Samantha was left in the dinning room set. She walked into the living room and entered their line of vision. Sebastian got to talking to her softly to calm her down but Dylan was more attentive than his naive old man. He nudged him on the spleen and placed his controller on the table. Sebastian barely understood what was going on when he saw Tamaki raise the claw hammer above the game station. He instantly dropped his controller on the floor and got up. He said as he backed away slowly," Calm down honey, you don't have to destroy the station. Remember you also use it."
" I still have the one you got me for last Christmas, remember that honey," said Tamaki with a scary grin.
Sebastian and Dylan disappeared into the dinning room." Honestly, what will I do with those two?" said Tamaki as she held her cheek.
She returned the claw hammer to the store room and joined the rest of the family. [ Point of fact: Tamaki is Japanese and Sebastian is American ] They were eating gyoza and soba noodles since it was Dylan's birthday. By the way, Dylan was turning 14 years. The meal was all smiles. From there, Tamaki did the dishes as the others went to prep for the days activities. They were all joining Sebastian at his workplace.

The family was in the car typing in the coordinates. The AI of the car greeted them and even wished Dylan a happy birthday. The car then took off for their destination. It was not that long before they reached their location and got through the security check. Sebastian's colleagues all wished Dylan a happy birthday as soon as they were informed. Their destination was the basement level five. It was where the beta testing for all their games was done and today, Dylan was allowed to join in the beta testing. Of course even Tamaki was joining in the beta testing since she was also an employee here. Samantha was not allowed to enter the beta testing since she was still too young. Beta testing was always done by thirteen year old kids and above. Samantha got off the elevator ahead of the others as she was left in the care of Tamaki's best friend and colleague. She was being brought tears but Tamaki told her not to cry.
She gave Samantha a locket with a picture of the family and told her that she will make sure to come back for it. Her best friend joked that that was a line that people who never come back usually give. This put Samantha even more on edge and she broke in tears. Tamaki gave her friend a glare before hugging Samantha and kissing her forehead. This calmed her down for now. The trio now went down where they entered a room which was the size of a small stadium. In the center were life support pods for hundreds of people. Two men in lab coats appeared ready to guide them to the pods prepared just for them. There names were blaring at them at the top. They were then led to the changing rooms in the corner where they were to dress up in the appropriate attire for event. The tights were not comfortable but what choice did they have. They proceeded to enter the pods individually and the men close up the containments. Once he confirmed that they were ok and comfortable he signaled the camera in the upper right corner of the room. The pods slowly started to fill up in a teal colored slimy liquid. The men informed them to breathe it in. It was to support them while they game.
As they slowly breathed in the liquid, they fell asleep and opened their eyes in front of a stat screen. They were supposed to design their characters one by one. Dylan designed his shirtless martial artist with sentient bandages on his wrists. Sebastian designed his Edo period samurai with ninja clothes and a long katana. Tamaki designed a mage with high amounts of mana. They were all given 'cheat skills' as they are called since this was a beta test. Sebastian; glitch speed, Tamaki; unparallel beauty and Dylan; infinite stamina. They appeared in a clearing somewhere in a forest and the title 'Universe Clash' flashed in the sky. Instantly, cyclops numbering 50 appeared around them. A drone lowered and it was someone from the control center. The only instructions were to kill all of them. Everyone took a stance and Dylan proposed they make it into a game leading to Tamaki saying the loser was to wash the family's gym clothes for a month. They all charged at the enemy. Sebastian was cutting them down as he kept glitching into places all over, Tamaki used her beauty to convince the cyclops to attack each other and Dylan was strangling them with his bandages five at once.
At the end, the results were as follows:

3. T!t@n ( Dylan Spearson ) - 9 kills
This result brought a tantrum in Dylan and everyone broke into a laugh. It was all smiles when an alarm started to blare through the drone. Sebastian was immediately on high alert. On the screen it read 'error 384-938 and Sebastian's hairs were on their ends. He ordered the other two to run but it was too late. Something fell out of the sky and landed gently in between them. It was like an angelic being who looked exactly like Tamaki. The being hugged Sebastian in a cheerful manner. Then she saw Tamaki and could easily tell who she was. The original. The real one. Before Sebastian could even speak out, both he and Dylan were ejected from the world just like that.
The woke up and ran to the command room to find Samantha in tears next to a blaring button titled 'PROJECT TS'. He then looked at the main screen in a panic. There he saw the copy saying that she was going to come out with a software through which she can integrate with the original and escape the cyber realm. Sebastian tried to call out but all Tamaki could do was smile bitterly at the drone which was still malfunctioning. The copy disappeared in a pillar of light with Tamaki in tow leading to Sebastian falling onto the floor with a look of devastation on his face. Dylan's expression was utterly shocked. Before long, Sebastian put on a brave face and a fake smile to take his kids home. Samantha knew she had something wrong but not what it was. Only later in time did she fully grasp the gravity of what she did.
After that day, Sebastian got absorbed in his work completely ignoring his family until three years later where he mysteriously disappeared from the control team's viewing range and was never heard from.
