The name staring back at me from the screen wasn't a person.
It was a company. Vales Trust Management LLC.
I sat there for a second trying to place it because the name felt familiar but I couldn't figure out why. My eyes burned from staring at the computer for too long and my coffee had gone cold hours ago but I kept reading through William's notes looking for anything that would connect this company to someone real.
Vale Trust Management handled private trusts for high net worth individuals. The kind of company that managed money for people who didn't want their names directly attached to transactions. I pulled up their corporate filing and found three names listed as partners.
Two I didn't recognize. Lawyers probably.
The third made me stop.
Edward Vale.
