Chapter 477 - Chapter 477 New World, Hero Selection?

"Does anyone feel it's not enough?" In the end, Takeru directly asked the group.

"It's enough!" Hearing Takeru's words, everyone scratched their heads and answered seriously. In fact, it wasn't just enough, it was a bit too much.

Of course, they didn't have to manifest all the extra items. They could save some for later consumption. The item storage slot would prevent spoilage...

"Alright then, I wish you all success on your mission!" Looking at everyone's excited expressions, Takeru said with a light smile.

Not long after, Takeru and the others disappeared from the room together and appeared in the Reincarnation Space.

After briefly checking the reminders from the Reincarnation Space, Takeru directly chose to continue the mission and was teleported away again.

...

[World Introduction: This world is plagued by special waves. To save the world, people summon Heroes from other worlds to resist the waves.]

[Main Mission 1: Survive for three months]

[Side Missions: Hidden...]

[Hint: The Reincarnator is about to enter this world as a Hero. Please choose a weapon unique to the Hero: Shield, Spear, Sword, Bow, Hunting Tool, Ball, Blunt Weapon, Cards, Staff, Hammer, Thrower, Hand Guard, Artificial Claws, Axe, Whip (Note: The chosen weapon will replace the originally designated person).]

Upon regaining consciousness, Takeru found himself in a vast, blank white space. This time, he hadn't been directly sent into the world, which surprised him slightly.

However, it seemed he could choose a special weapon, which was interesting. Looking at this hint, it appeared he could select a weapon, which felt somewhat familiar.

Regarding the time aspect, needing to stay for three months seemed to suggest that mission worlds might require progressively longer durations. Or perhaps other factors were involved.

Shaking his head, Takeru stopped overthinking and directly looked at the weapons available for a Hero.

After glancing at the shield, Takeru skipped it.

Although he chose the shield in the first benefit world, that was to mimic a certain lucky individual's path. It didn't mean Takeru would choose the shield for all subsequent paths.

"I choose the sword." After considering for a moment, Takeru decided on a longsword as his weapon.

As soon as he made his choice, he was pulled away from his spot by a powerful force.

"Great, it succeeded!"

"Brave One, please save this world!" As Takeru regained his focus, he noticed he was inside a special summoning formation, surrounded by robed magicians.

Within the formation, Takeru also noticed three people beside him, holding a long spear, a longbow, and a shield respectively.

Combined with the special longsword in Takeru's own hand and the surprised and delighted looks from those around them, it was clear they saw the four as saviors. Takeru understood that they were the Heroes.

"Who are these people? And where is this? What's this, a shield?" The man with the shield looked around, then noticed a special shield had appeared on his arm, surprised.

Takeru checked his Reincarnation Watch and found that besides the introduction adding a note indicating he had become the Sword Hero, his current location was the Kingdom of Melromarc. There were no other hints.

"Brave One, please save this world!" Seeing that Takeru and the others seemed to have just come to their senses, the man who had spoken earlier pleaded again.

"What do you mean?" The Hero holding the longbow directly asked.

Although suddenly arriving in an unfamiliar world, apart from the Shield Hero who looked a bit flustered, the Heroes holding the spear and longbow were very calm.

Of course, Takeru also appeared very calm.

"The situation is very complicated... We used an ancient ritual to summon you, the legendary Four Saint Heroes!" Hearing the Bow Hero's words, the lead magician spoke first.

[Four Saints? So the four of us are the legendary Heroes?] Hearing the man's words, the Shield Hero seemed to grasp the situation somewhat.

"This world is facing a crisis of extinction. Brave Ones, we implore you to help us," The lead man said, looking at Takeru and the others with a pleading expression.

"If it's just listening..." The Bow Hero hesitated after hearing the man's words.

"I refuse. Can you send us back to our original world? Otherwise, no deal!" Before he could finish, the Spear Hero spoke decisively.

"Even if you achieve world peace, if we get sent back to our original world immediately afterwards, it would be working for nothing."

"To what extent would you consider our wishes? Depending on the situation, we could also become your enemies."

Hearing the man's words, the Spear Hero and Bow Hero directly asked about compensation. Takeru calmly watched the statements of the two weaklings.

The benefits they mentioned held no attraction for Takeru whatsoever. Furthermore, Takeru firmly believed that if he wanted benefits, he had to earn them himself.

Of course, their statements weren't entirely unreasonable. For ordinary people, negotiating for their rights like this was a valid approach.

As for the Shield Hero not speaking, it was purely because he was still somewhat confused.

Hearing their words, the Shield Hero inwardly marveled, 'These two seemed to have fully grasped the situation, even taking a stand and demanding compensation.'

"Please, first come meet His Majesty the King of Melromarc. We can discuss compensation then." Hearing their words, the man was slightly taken aback, then directly suggested that Takeru and the others speak with the king.

"The king, huh? Let's do as you say." Hearing the man's words, Takeru spoke calmly.

Hearing Takeru's magnetic voice, the Shield Hero somehow sensed a hint of disdain toward the king in his tone. He then shook his head, dismissing it as his imagination.

"Talking to the king or anyone else, it's all the same!" The Spear Hero also readily agreed.

'They seem so reliable!' Looking at Takeru and the others, the Shield Hero inwardly marveled.

"We really have come to another world, haven't we?" Walking toward the palace, the Bow Hero looked out the castle window at the unique buildings outside and spoke with emotion.

"The comfortable wind, just like it says in overseas travel guides." Feeling the gentle breeze, the Shield Hero spoke with emotion.

"Have you never left Japan?" Hearing the Shield Hero's words, the Bow Hero teased lightly, with a hint of sarcasm in his tone. The Spear Hero also showed a hint of mockery.

"Alright, let's keep moving. Our goal right now is to get compensation, isn't it?" Seeing the Shield Hero's embarrassed expression, Takeru spoke directly.

Hearing Takeru's words, the two paused, then continued following the lead magician toward the palace.

The Shield Hero curiously glanced at Takeru. Although he wasn't sure, he felt that Takeru had just helped him out?

Since the summoning location was already close to the palace, after walking for about ten minutes, Takeru and the others arrived at the grand palace and saw the king sitting high and mighty on his throne.

The surroundings were filled with people resembling ministers or nobles, as well as some maids and soldiers.

"So you are the legendary Four Saint Heroes? I am Aultcray Melromarc XXXII, the King of Melromarc. Heroes, state your names!" The white-haired king said, looking at Takeru and the others with narrowed eyes.

"I am Kitamura Motoyasu, 21 years old, a university student!" The Spear Hero stepped forward first and spoke loudly.

"I am Kawasumi Itsuki, 17 years old, a high school student!" The Bow Hero also stepped forward and spoke.

"Nara Takeru, 16 years old, a high school student." Hearing the introductions, Takeru spoke calmly.

"And finally, I am..."

"Motoyasu, Itsuki, and Takeru, huh!" Before the Shield Hero could finish speaking, the king directly skipped over him.

"King, you forgot about me!" Seeing this, the Shield Hero quickly reminded him.

"Calling him 'King' like that won't do, you need to show respect!" Hearing the Shield Hero's exclamation, Itsuki quickly reminded him.

"Then call him 'Your Majesty'? Isn't that too stiff?" Hearing Itsuki's words, the Shield Hero hesitated and spoke.

"Just call me King." Looking at the Shield Hero, the king seemed somewhat impatient.

"Whatever. My name is Iwatani Naofumi, 20 years old, a university student." The Shield Hero finally managed to introduce himself.

"Alright, first we must explain the situation. Our kingdom of Melromarc, and this entire world, are facing destruction..." The king continued, still largely ignoring Naofumi.

Then, through the king's explanation, Motoyasu and the others gained a basic understanding of this world.

Of course, Takeru understood it even better, because he had already figured out which world this was.

It was an anime Takeru had watched in his previous life called The Rising of the Shield Hero.

Of course, many people might know it better as The Frustrating Record of the Shield Hero, because the Shield Hero, upon being summoned, gets wrongly accused left and right. And in the end, after putting in immense effort, all the King and that bitch receive is a rather plain punishment...
