Chapter 97 - Chapter 97: The Third Trial - Harmony

The nine constellations descended slowly from the heavens.

Each was immense, radiating a pressure far greater than anything in the previous two trials. Their light reflected across the mirror-like ground, transforming the world into a vast celestial sea.

Krishak stood motionless beneath them, his expression calm.

Lunafang appeared beside him once more, silver fur shimmering under the star-filled sky. The young wolf looked upward and let out a low growl.

Through their soul bond, Krishak sensed his companion's determination.

Elder Tian's voice echoed across the trial realm.

"The final trial tests harmony.

"To inherit the legacy of the Stellar Hall, one must not only perceive the heavens and endure adversity."

"One must walk in accord with the stars."

As the words faded, the nine constellations transformed into nine enormous spirit beasts.

A celestial wolf.

A soaring hawk.

A serpentine dragon.

A horned stag.

A shadow panther.

A radiant crane.

A mountain bear.

A silver fox.

And a lion crowned in starlight.

Each beast represented a different aspect of cosmic energy.

They circled Krishak and Lunafang, their eyes glowing with ancient intelligence.

The challenge was clear.

This was not a battle to the death.

It was a test of resonance.

If candidate and companion could harmonize with the celestial forces, they would pass.

If they resisted, they would fail.

Krishak rested a hand on Lunafang's head.

"Do not fight the stars," he said softly. "Listen to them."

Lunafang's ears twitched.

The celestial wolf stepped forward first.

Its silver aura mirrored Lunafang's moonlit energy almost perfectly.

The two wolves circled each other.

Then the spirit beast lunged.

Lunafang did not counterattack.

Instead, he flowed with the movement, matching the celestial wolf's rhythm.

Silver light surged between them.

Their forms blurred.

For several moments, they moved as if they were reflections of one another.

The celestial wolf lowered its head in acknowledgment and dissolved into starlight.

One constellation returned to the sky.

The remaining beasts approached.

The hawk descended in a spiral of wind and stars.

Krishak extended his spiritual senses, synchronizing his breathing with the currents around him.

The hawk's energy merged with the wind element and then dispersed.

The dragon tested the depth of their spiritual control.

The bear tested stability.

The fox tested adaptability.

The lion tested courage.

Each encounter demanded a different response.

At every stage, Krishak and Lunafang adjusted seamlessly.

Their soul bond, strengthened through shared battles and mutual trust, allowed them to respond as a single entity.

Hours seemed to pass.

With each successful resonance, their connection deepened.

Krishak could feel Lunafang's emotions with extraordinary clarity.

Pride.

Focus.

Trust.

And in return, Lunafang felt Krishak's unwavering confidence.

At last, only the final constellation remained.

The star-crowned lion stepped forward.

Its pressure dwarfed all the others.

Golden-silver flames danced along its mane.

Its eyes locked onto Krishak.

The lion roared.

The sound shook the heavens.

A torrent of spiritual pressure crashed down upon Krishak and Lunafang.

This was the culmination of the trial.

Not merely resonance.

Submission to overwhelming force without losing oneself.

Lunafang trembled.

For the first time, uncertainty flickered through their bond.

Krishak knelt and placed both hands on his companion's shoulders.

"Strength does not mean domination, he said quietly.

"It means remaining true to your nature."

Lunafang's breathing steadied.

The silver wolf lifted his head and stepped forward.

Instead of resisting the lion's pressure, he accepted it.

Moonlight spread from his body.

The lion's golden radiance met Lunafang' s silver aura.

The two energies intertwined.

The lion's roar faded.

Its fierce expression softened.

Then it bowed.

A wave of starlight enveloped Krishak and Lunafang.

The final constellation dissolved.

The heavens exploded into brilliant silver light.

Elder Tian's voice rang with unmistakable emotion.

"Outstanding."

The starry realm vanished.

In the underground hall, the observers shielded their eyes as the central platform erupted with radiance.

The five candidates stood within the light.

Above each of them, star symbols shone brightly.

But over Krishak and Lunafang, a complete constellation had formed-a silver wolf encircled by a crescent moon and nine stars.

Professor Devika gasped.

"What does that mean?"

Elder Tian stared at Krishak in astonishment.

"In all the years since this inheritance was created," the spirit said softly, "this is the first time a candidate has achieved perfect harmony."

Headmaster Rudra's normally composed face revealed genuine surprise.

The other students opened their eyes and looked toward Krishak.

Dev let out a low whistle.

Ishita shook her head in disbelief.

Raghav laughed quietly.

"Of course he did."

Ananya smiled warmly.

The spirit imprint floated toward the center of the platform.

"The Trial of Stars is complete.

"All five candidates have passed."

The students exchanged excited glances.

But Elder Tian's gaze remained fixed on Krishak.

"Young seeker," he said, his voice resonating through the chamber, "the Stellar Hall recognizes you as its foremost inheritor."

The nine crystal pedestals began to shine.

Ancient energy surged through the hall.

The true inheritance was about to be bestowed.
